I always have the ABS on weak. Because when I set it to default, any car I used would understeer if I braked too hard. Very weird stuff with the physics probably. Good luck this week at Nords. It's a long track but it should be more pleasant driving a road car instead of the Group category ones.
Cheers buddy. I love the nord, it comes up i do that race... lol

I seem to switch the abs around a lot more than i did before, not sure if it's placebo or not but i feel it's completely car dependent now whereas before i could reliably use weak on any road car and gr4, but needed default in gr3 and above. Now i just switch it if i don't feel like I'm getting the breaking i think i should

I'll be at Watkins this week.

Gr4 NSX or any other MR car and I'm happy. It could have done with a stop and Med Hard requirement but it is what it is.
Very nice time mate, tried a few cars before jumping into the NSX. Pretty much spent time tuning it and then stopped for dinner & family time. Will try again later! Racing is ok? No pit I imagine.. What about fuel map? Need to play around or it lasts going all out?

Haven't been able to dedicate seat time to get abused in some online racing, but trying to set competitive Friends Ranking times has been fun.

Race A: WRX STi '04 - 8:07.829 My laps were too tentative

Race B: NSX Gr.3 - 1:39.809 Kept borking the final corner

Race C: NSX Gr.4 - 1:55.340 Feel slow everywhere

Weird seeing the NSX Gr.4 being the meta at Watkins Glen instead of a G70 or 4C. After watching Tidgney's video, strong slipstream looks wack. Artificial. Please stop, PD. Fast drivers shouldn't have to worry about chuckleheads like me closing massive gaps on the straights.

It's odd as if I set early times later in the day it's hard to get back to them. Will improve a fair bit Wednesday (by a fair bit I mean 1/10th 🤣)

No tires, pit or fuel, just a 10 lap sprint. The racing is largely cleaner because of the nature of the track and the meta cars don't respond well or lap fast with dive bomb lines.

It's a good race and the funny thing is, that T1 at Watkins is almost exactly the same as T1 at RBR in fact several of the corners require the same sort of lines and approach ;)

Good grief, how do you set a 7:49 at the Ring in these cars?! I thought sweating my butt off for a 8:09 was a decent lap. But no....

Anyhow, just done the 1 A race so far, Q3 (from 5 qualifiers) to P2 with a CRB.

I kind of wish DR was on for this one. Seems the last couple of times Nords has come up, it's been an A race. Ah well, I'll still get my fill this week.

What is the secret to race A? I was getting top 5s on an 8:14 and managed to knock six seconds off. I was then demoted to eighth on the grid and everyone took off ahead of me. I don't know what I'm missing.

Edit: could've at least given us sports soft.

I will try and get a clip tomorrow, am working behind the bar atm and then i have to go to proper work 🙈. I spent a good 30 laps chasing a top 10 ghost earlier and running 0 TC and +2 BB. Its probably just me and how i am approaching the bus stop, i just cannot seem to get it to settle down for me. I have just watched @Tidgney's guide and he suggests using partial throttle through there to keep it stable, I am pretty sure I am off the throttle on entry and as soon as I clip that first inside kerb I am in trouble. Oddly enough I can get around the first lap on cold tyres perfectly, it's the next laps that get me.
Even 1/4 throttle will help as it keeps the rear planted

Also don't cut the turn in to tight as it really unsettles the car. Later turn in (fractionally) and a little bit of throttle drag. I lift hitting the curb on exit to stop the slide in to the horseshoe but Tidge does it faster. So definitely a line and skill issue for me.

It's also quick to coast the first part just not the optimum optimum if you know what I mean on a really hot lap.

How can i report liverys? Ýesterday I met someone in Daily C, claiming he's an Ex-Soldier and pushing EDL / UKIP and even worse narratives. His car was fully packed with Tommy Robinson / Farage ****. Is this what we need in a game accessable for everyone in the world? Is this what racing is about?!
LOL that's quite funny tbh, it's only a game just relax and have a laugh.

I've seen a Toyota pick up truck with blood on the front bumper, bullet holes and ISIS flag on the side. 🤣

Race B is a good laugh this week, seeing people get the chicane of death wrong and coming to an instant stop or causing a chain reaction pile up. 🤣

Did some laps and will do a race soon (prob start last lol) but even though I am still way behind you and Dark, super happy with my consistency 🎅

Try shifting up really early, it makes a massive difference in this car compared to revving it out. Cars like this are really bad news for anybody playing with automatic gears.

Loads of fun last week in Race A. Glad I could race wheel to wheel against @sturk0167 and see other friend from here. We were 1 and 2 on the grid but for whatever reason I couldn't bring the fight to him. Finally on my third race, I could get a clear first lap and have a proper fight. Always great to against you dude.

And another stint with an AWD car....Let's goooo!
This morning race was pretty good for a Monday morning on the Nord.
First race I started last and finish last and did no major mistake, so others on the track apparently.
The other one, I could climb to 3rd from 5th (no QT) but I binned it in the last braking zone and lost the podium.

Holy cow, I love this week's Race C! Never did I have a race with so much wheel-to-wheel action with zero punts and such amazing racing! Non-stop action from start to finish and P4 finish from P7 isn't too shabby either 😊

I was up in P2 at one point but P1 had horrible connection from the start and basically just vanished as we all had to deal with some lag spikes.. Last 3 laps were especially brutal and that is why I ended up losing P2 but still, extremely pleased and can't wait for more tomorrow! Good luck everyone!

Hi.

Previous week
Daily A: Excellent combo. Another different track/car combo. Always very welcome.
Loads of fun, the Escort. Thumbs up, however, this combo deserved to be a B or C daily.

Daily B: Red Bull Ring (Gr4).
Disappointing, boring and one of the worst combos. I believe I have made four races. Two of them, with all players driving a Lancer,
except me.
I gave my opinion before, how to avoid this ridiculous situation.

Daily C: Deep Forest (Gr3).
There was where I had some fun and where I was most of the time. Thumbs up.
Once again, if we had all the tyre set at disposal, we could maybe have more strategy options.

Once again 🥱 PD should penalize more the quitters, in my opinion, both SR and DR. Harder, at least on the sportsmanship.

Have fun,
Cheers

Yeah Watkins Glen! One of my favorite tracks to race on. I'm at a 1:55.3XX in the NSX as of now. I'll try some other cars tomorrow and see if I can improve to a 1:54.XXX. I hope I can have some good results on my "home" track this week.

I should also look into going to the Six Hours of The Glen this year. But, there is also talk of a Pocono Raceway trip for NASCAR which is the same weekend. Probably won't go to either lol

Comfort sport! Why does it have to be comfort sport?:D

I jumped onto a daily race A with only five minutes of practice and not having made it around the course and I got paired with a whole bunch of A’s and A+ better than me.

I was placed in last. I got up to 11 for a bit because one of the leaders crashed out, but it wasn’t long before I was last again. It wasn’t too bad for a bit but all the pack was slowly getting away from me and then I crashed twice and finally came in a minute behind the leader.

That was embarrassing. This car is a sliding mess and I’m not skilled at sliding it around corners. I think I need some practice. 🤪

Race A is insane!

The Nordschleife is always a troubling track no matter what car you use. I've learned from experience driving on there for almost 4 years. Got Gtsport in June 2021. So, June of this year will mark 4 years since I started Gran Turismo back.

Tough night at seaside. After a good experience at my pad nemesis Fuji, then felt quick enough at RBR with the lancer and a 7 lap gold in the wrx in the wet, I felt like I was getting there with a wheel.

Seaside was a slap in the chops. I tried a few cars but as with the pad, the supra feels by far the best as you need a stable rear end. It just always feels like you're fighting chronic understeer, always looking for more front end. Managed a 38.4 in qualy but have more in me if I can tie it all together. The kerbs REALLY unsettle the car, more than I remember from 18 months ago. I was pretty handy at seaside when not in the COD, I used to run 2nd or even top split in America's but tonight was paired in a B lobby, which is fair enough I guess.

For the COD I am tapping the brake to induce turn in. When I look at my replays I am turning in too late with a wheel on most corners. It's not understeer, I just turn in too late, I've seen it since I switched inputs. I think the change of view is messing with my muscle memory, feels like I am braking so much earlier than I used to but on replay it looks about where it was.

Anyone here tweaked the steering lock on their wheel? I can't seem to change direction anywhere near quick enough. I noticed it at monza too but also seaside, I the COD, I just cannot flick the car left then right fast enough.

Anyways, ran a solid rave, p2 al the way, no errors at COD but still no win with a wheel!

Glen also for me, this week and what a nice surprise is the NSX's handling. I mean, the car is glued to the track and is way better balanced than the Lambo f.i.. Moreover it can be driven normally, revving it and making it scream. I still need to learn the long layout of the track (i raced only the short one till now), so my QT of 1:54.5 has a significant room for improvement (mid '53 is now my weekly target). Looks even better than last week in terms of racing; flowing with no diving zone for bombers.
Enjoy your racing week.

After some practice I somewhat redeemed myself with a slightly better lap time.

That said, without a ghost there is no way I would get this in a race.

So I tried some C qt. I agree with @sturk0167 that the Cayman is a lovely drive here even though it might not be the quickest for QT (currently 1:54.6x) . How does it hold up in race?

sadly home and work mean significantly less racing this week which is gutting as The Glen is Glens favourite track 😢

Hopefully get a decent ish session Friday and Saturday. Good luck out there racers!

Edit: just a quick one to add, has anyone else noticed a lot more players with poor connections and generally just less consistent connections in lobbies?
