I think the controller sensitivity is broken. I can't steer the cars. I'm fighting the controller to follow the input, but the steering is SO SLOW! It's painful.

I have been playing with the sensitivity and -2 seems exactly the same as +10 (where I normally play). I know they did work for the wheel controller, but I think they broke the regular controller.
I have the duel sense edge and noticed nothing unusual. I actually have better times than using a clunky wheel. Though I have never used a Finatic or any of the 1j ones.

P.S.: Seemingly, the new week will have a Daily C joke event, for what I saw.
Again FWD, again one set of tires, again one make car trophy. Again, one week I will not drive the Mazda.
Again, I almost bet that the person who set the Gr4 events, is not the same of the others. It can't be.
The longest race become the boring one.
Slightly harsh I reckon. Race C has been great fun and surprisingly clean ( apart from 1 I was in). It's not as straightforward as it seems due to the unforgiving nature of the top section, I think PD got a good mix this week to be fair. I wont do Race B as I just don't like the track but from the streams I have watched I didn't see too many complaints about the set of dailies.

Edit: I managed 7 races today at Bathurst. 5 wins a 2nd place and 1 rage quit 🤣🙈 My smallest winning margin was 23 seconds on my main account and the largest was 45 seconds on my US account. If you can survive turn 1 from pole then it's pretty much your race to lose, a clear track is vital here as the Dipper section is a bit hairy if you are stuck in traffic. My second place finish was probably my best race as I was taken out at turn 1 lap 1 and ended up 5 seconds down from P15. Drove like a man possessed and pitted at the end of lap 2. I recovered to 2nd place only 2 seconds down on the leader at the end, proud of that race and I must share the replay 👍

I stupidly went back to the TCR cup race at Bathurst on iRacing then and made a complete balls of it as the physics are so much different 🤣🤣🤣 My poor Audi was half the size it should have been after a massive shunt at the Cutting 🙈 Mixing the 2 games is not recommended 🤣

Circuits like Bathurst exposes how bad balanced are this cars (FF on GR4). The Mazda 3 has a top end speed that matches Group 3.
It is ridiculous how it pulls.
It is screaming for some nerfing since it arrived to the game.

Edit: just in case someone wants to know how does it feel to be a complete idiot, just check this VR POV

Was a bit worried when after 10 qualy laps I set a 14.8 as my best time at Bathurst. I decided to race and to my surprise qualified p5 in an all BS room. Finished p5 but thats with a massive penalty for, in true Larry Perkins fashion , butchering the pit entry. Cost me about 7 seconds and 2nd place.

Given I ran a 14.5 in the race on worn tyres and no tow I qualified again and got down to a 13.9. I can go faster I think but I feel I am losing time through sulman, Reid and mcphillamy park (the fast triple left across the top). Given the only competitive car is so stable I am pleasantly surprised to still be gaining a lot of time down into the dipper, really gobbling up tenths. But that means I am weak elsewhere compared to other guys around 14 flat.

The right hander after the cutting, are you guys lifting or flat? Same for the following left. As always I am very string racing through the chase but lose time there to my peers.

I was lucky to find a nice Perkins livery for the Mazda one make.

Yeah, no. Nvm, I give up.

It's just the beginning of the week, it will improve (hopefully). Same to me yesterday, tried two races to see how it was... @Barney Da Dog was in one of them, witnessing my fallout from pole. Not great but still fun and no impact whatsoever on SR (or DR eventually) remove the stress. So I'm driving "ice-calm", smiling regardless what's going on or the final outcome.

Looks like it could be fun and the choice of cars look great but I can see that stuff getting tiresome after a while

After renewing my faith in race A recently with the civic races etc the last couple aren’t to my liking

It was good to see you there - it was my first race and I kept running up to the wall and losing a lot of time. I met @Nebuc72 in the next one 👋

I'm not sure who this was, but he briefly had pretty good pace considering he was going backwards.

I don't know what happened to me in our race from your perspective but from mine I had a lagspike and teleported into a gap between two cars that wasn't actually wide enough to fit a car, then my car promptly kind of just exploded and flew away.
It was good up til that!

Yeah it was quite weird, you were out front I think then appeared ghosted in between the two cars ahead of me and then suddenly spun round.

That sounds about right! I wish it did actually ghost me instead of launching me around like it did - I was in VR too, hell of a strange experience!

I did 3 NASCAR races last night. It was hilarious and also kind of boring.

I can’t figure out how to get a good QT with the old girl (47.462) and I appear to be around .1-.2s slower than most of my rivals. Consequently I start towards the back.

Race 1 I avoid the attrition up front from crashes and work my way up from 13th to finish 7th. That was a pretty good race.

Race 2, I start from 14th and get up to 8th but on the last lap I come up to someone that was running slow and as I pass then, they definitely swipe at me causing me to slam the wall. Having just been a victim of someone’s tantrum PD gives me a 3s penalty for the privilege. Wrf! I end up in 11th. Not happy with that one.

Race 2 I start in 14th. I was making decent progress and while I was passing someone who was recovering from a crash, I had to make an emergency steering correction and lost it. I spun and crashed out into the pits. I decided not to refuel or get tires. 🤣
I ended up in 13th. One spot gained at least.

What what I find is that once you lose the draft from the main pack you’re toast this game and you’re running by yourself.

My question is how do I find the extra .1 - .2 seconds to get into the 47.3s or quicker?

@TheNormsk

Could believe it when I turned in and you nicked 3 thousands off my time

Luckily there was still a little in the tank - not sure if I was driving my wheel or if it was throwing me around but I nailed it 🤣
Good show! Darn though. I liked being at the top! 🤣

I think daily B be this week, but I’m somewhat worried because most of my adventures with that combo usually end up in disaster. We’ll see how it goes on my first race.

Initially I set my time with the supra, but then switched to the 911 and I have to say the 911 is better here.

This. Oval qualifying is about as little lateral movement as possible, the less you steer and correct the faster you go and 1 tenth can mean 7 spots. The Indy 500 remains on my bucket list.
There is a magical spot where the car just does what it is supposed to do with very little input. Entry is a bit easier than exit but the car just falls into the line when you hit it right. The only track aid I have on anymore are the corner bubbles (entry/apex/exit) and I've found eyeballing these while looking waaaay down track helped a lot.

Only down to a 47.3xx so maybe not the bestest reference point, lol. From here I think it's just a matter of putting in lap after lap until I get that magical one where I'll manage to do things right the WHOLE way 'round.🤣

In the Superbird at what point should you shift in MPH when starting? In VR I can't see any rev gauge so it is all by ear. Then once I get to 4th I leave it there. That's the strategy right? Don't use 5th at all, or with draft, does 5th actually come into play?

Try following one of the top 10 ghosts - it gives you lots of clues re the correct lines etc. At least they're not 2 seconds ahead by turn 1, which is the problem I usually have with the alien ghosts 🤣

47.339 for me using this strategy, with a bit more still to come.

Absolutely this, usually I'm mesmerised by the ghost to the point I'm not thinking about the time and the pressure disappears, suddenly I'm faster.

I'm at a 47.299, still don't know how.

I can just about make out the red RPM section on the rev counter in VR so i bang it when its half way in the red section and by ear, any further beyond halfway into the red RPM section i can see and i notice a big drop off in the powerband especially from gears 2-3 at the rolling start. I ended up getting punted on a race today and experimented with 5th to try and catch up and got lapped so definitely stick to 4th from what I've experienced.

There’s a Rev counter? Your eyes are better than mine!

But then I’m…
There is but to be fair it's really dark and you have to really look for the needle.

Don't use 5th btw.

If you haven't try whacking the torque all the way up for QT at least it helps reduce inputs and you'll drift/move around less and the inputs you make will be smoother (due to the resistance slowing the motion slightly)

My question is how do I find the extra .1 - .2 seconds to get into the 47.3s or quicker?
Try to find the compromise between smoothness, anticipation and trust.
Smoothness: every "hard" imput slows the car, small corrections also (the less imput, the more speed gain)
Anticipation: start rotating gradually lil before you normally would do. It has the steering capability of a camper, compared to a modern car and the reaction"s ability of a sloth.
Trust: let the car do its work, especially on exit. If you're in the right line you'll gradually "open" the steer without fear to hit the wall. This is an important limit to find cause grip is there and the fastest speed at any exit (there are three) means the fastest entry to the next corner and so on.
Line wise be tighter as possible. Where the banking is about to start there's one painted white line. Draw a tangent from you, passing from the beginning of the line to the farest "apex" you can see of the orange internal track limits; that's your entry for turn 1. Same for turn 2, but there you need to "anticipate" a lil more.
At last: look always to the farest poit you want to reach. It makes no sense to look continuously the inside track limits, trying to keep the gap between you and the limit constant. By instinct you'll "rotate" towards it, slowing the car with unnecessary corrections (you'll actually doing kinda zig-zag so the car slows down). You'll see, at a certain moment all will become natural, gaining speed at all entries and exits.
