I see a lot of love for race A out there at the moment, must try that one soon,

I’ve been in B enjoying the racing and I see now the DR A guys come to town and push me down the ranks a little 😁

Managed a couple of wins today which was a nice surprise, first one hard fought and nervy but starting the second as per my video was more than welcomed 🤣

Managed to get my QT down a little and hopefully a 1.55 is possible even if just

I know right? Lago Maggiore is very fluid.
Up until yesterday I used +2 BB on the Huracan, then I improved my laptime by leaving it at 0.
Interesting, worth a try! Thanks mate :)

** Update **

Thank you, @hardvibes - a man with good advice! Took me some laps to get used to 0 BB and now need to fiddle a bit with wheel settings, but looks promising with the optimals and definitely moving forwards 😊

Forrests Elbow and the Cutting in 3rd?
Yes

Watch a top replay mate, the less shifts and the more torque you ride the faster it's gonna be.

Edit: I have a huge amount of time for Matt/Sparks and this video is really really really helpful.....but I think in this instance the production values are a bit overzealous and sickly a little but I'm not the primary audience I feel but the content is excellent.

C'mon GT7! How am I supposed to stand a chance in this kinda lobby??

Taking two wins and one second place so far this week obviously got the matchmaking carried away, I suppose I'll take the compliment but the No.1 quali time holder in the world is a bit out of my league...

I bet Glen doesn't have to put up with this kind of treatment. @newmedia_dev

(For obvious reasons, I'm not pictured)

Glen definitely takes his fair share of those lobbies and brutally less "able" ones as well.

Glen definitely is one of the people feeling the pain, frustration and at the moment very very little motivation.

Also I get what I deserve and own, I'm not consistent and I pay for that.

But yeah "don't they know who I am" 😝🤣🤣🤣

Honestly I'm just a racer like all of us, sometimes fast sometimes slow but always supportive

Get slower and race with the B crowd? :D
Similar to several previous posts, I'm also very low A, but getting in lobbies with a bunch of A+ YouTubers quite often.
I'm getting a lot of A+ in my lobbies. Luckily not so many (at least well known) youtubers. Seems to be much less of a thing on the NA servers.

Well just let your DR tank some and then you'll be back down to a level B. If it was me, I would rather be in a B or C lobby because the drivers there would at least have common courtesy to be respectful and give other drivers space and not ram them or ride their butt/end. Don't get discouraged if you don't always win, at least you're having fun out there. Just take one step at a time. Good luck.

I was wondering like @Barney Da Dog if there's some temperature related variable in QT at Daytona. I checked some leaderbord top times replays. Actually some of them do a very slow lap beyond 10 min before starting to push. I did something similar with a good improvement and an ideal valuable for the 15th top time.

I had also my first win of the week after multiples accidents. Guess what happens at the end?

Daily A brings so many fond memories from GT5 Nascar lobbies. And when you end up in good company, its relatively clean fun. I hope this would be the stock tune for the superbird so we could have good fun in the lobbies after this week. Here is a no-names example from A/A+ room. Relatively high split I assume, as the top 5 baby blue is GOTMAXPOWER and K. De Bruin was a quest in few of the same races. Didn't even remember S/S -ranking still exists. Good fun even without Hollywood ending as I bit below yellow line entering the last corner.

Ps. This race is also testament to just how good the dualsense controls now are, as I sold my PS wheel recently.

A question from a beginner - what are the little cell phone looking bars by every driver’s name in the race lineup? There’s usually about three bars, some are green, some are yellow, and occasionally I’ve seen two red bars.

Thanks.

Their connection/ latency. Occasionally you will notice the drivers with poor connectivity darting back and forth across the track.

As said, connection strength. Green good, Red bad 🤣. You will know when you have a player with a bad connection issue as the cars will be jumping all over the place so be warned!! It happens quite alot in the European lobbies if you have an unfortunate Russian player in it, for some reason they, through no fault of their own, seem to cause this a lot. I am not familiar with how the servers all link up but it does seem to cause issues regularly. Quite often I have been in races and the poor sods are left there on the grids ghosted as the race goes on around them 🙈

The changed the range for DR recently, and I noticed that each pixel on the bar has more value to it. So it is possible that people who were on the edge of A might be a B now. I was in the low A+ when it happened and I lost almost half my bar.

And, I put up a post a couple days ago regarding the controller sensitivity. I find the steering SUPER SLOW right now, and it's making me slower. I tried changing the sensitivity and it does nothing.
I read your first post about the sensitivity and agree with you. I was on +8 already in gt sport, but something has changed. My steering isnt precise and coming out of some corners a supra gt3 suddenly feels like a overpowered FF. It just goes straight into the sand. After i read your post i tried from - 2 to +10, i didnt feel much difference as well.

Race A is so much fun.
Yes, occasionally you get punted round and that sucks, but I must say in 85% of the races I've done the racing at the front is clean.
And then the game begins of when do you overtake and when do you just bump the guys in front.

Closest win was with 0.014 and my other wins or top 5 finishes are nearly always all within 0.5 seconds.

Excuse me if I’m wrong, but if I recall correctly, didn’t you get bit by an otter at the airport? 😂 which is like 1 in a billion chance.

And you have the best profile pic and name. What a great name for a dog.
I'm actually not the first person to be bitten by an Otter at the very same airport 😯 An elite band of men indeed.

Barney was a very special dog - pro footballer, eater of doors, chaser of cats, avoider of water. Sadly put to sleep 11 years ago after a short battle with cancer 😔 https://www.flickr.com/photos/crieffy/albums/72157628487005619/

Man I am so glad you still got the win there!

That other driver's flag often appears in cases of dirty driving (in my experience anyway)
As the game can't seem to penalize dirty drivers at all, I wish GT7 had undercover "stewards" that could review a replay and dish out bans - a day, then a week, then a month.

I have some time today so may experiment with letting everything cool - I think in all of my recent attempts, the fastest lap has been my 3rd lap with the following laps always being within 2 to 4 tenths slower. Where a good line may make up time in the corners, time will be slowly lost on the following straight..🧐

Wow. Maybe this is old news for you people, but I'm baffled by this:

I did about 6 Mt. Panorama races yesterday. My DR level was high B. My SR level was constantly switching between very high B / very low A. Wish I could upgrade to S but I guess I'm to clumsy, and others around me also. But oh well, it doesn't matter too much.

I decided to do 1 more race (that's always how these stories start right). In the pre-race chat someone said 'dirty drivers lobby'. I thought how bad could it be, I've seen some dirty drivers in the other races also. But oh boy was it bad. I got repeatedly rammed into other drivers, receiving penalties for it. I also got brake checked and received a pen. Lastly someone who I courteously bumpdrafted on the downhill straight, didn't understand this or something. I went into the pits while driving next to him, he somehow deliberately rammed me out of the pit lane so I had to continue (with damage ofcourse) for another lap.

Long story short.. after this one race, this is now my DR / SR:

Did any of you experience this before? I don't mind being demoted to DR D, but SR E will probably give me the uttermost hell of lobbies to drive in. Very interesting that this can happen over the course of 1 race. Maybe it's happening more often now and I just don't know it because I've been away for a few months.

Logs in to GT7 to run some races at LM...spends all night running Daytona instead.

Seriously, how is driving in circles fun??? I jumped into Race A to just run one for the fun factor and never left. Have had some great lobbies and, while the win is still elusive, the bumper to bumper racing has made it worth every second of it. And the replays!!👍

Thanks for mentioning fifth gear, by the way. Had no idea it was there, not that it's used. Also made me wonder...anybody know if this sled has brakes???🤣

@Goanaut I had no idea you could get reset the whole way back to E. I thought that was reserved for new drivers, lasted for five races and never returned. The reset from SR dropping below DR is normal, just didn't think seeing E again was.

@Barney Da Dog agree on the cycle. My best laps are typically the third.👍

EDIT
The horn, tho.....

Exactly!

There should be some noticeable difference between -2 and +10. There's nothing. I'm getting more steering input from throttle management than from adjusting sensitivity. And you are correct, it's like driving an FF car.

I watching the steering indicator, and the red dot moves very slowly. I understand that it should be replicating steering input, but if I have the sensitivity at max, then the game should allow me to control the steering input with the stick. I can see that I can input maximum steering, and the car is actually turning minimally, which means I have to lift to get more steering.

Again, fine for the default, I suppose, but not fine when someone wants maximum control.

Driver was reported and blocked anyway, it's why his name is hidden. It's my 4th report in 7 months, all are blocked cause I want to be sure to never interact with them in future again (in game chat, friendship requests). Karma has done its job already.

Indeed, but remember that you can slow drammatically on a lap to start back the cycle. Sometimes even the fourth lap gives improvements. I'll try tonyt the "10 min lap" to see. Yesterday I was a bit in a hurry (impatient lets say).

When I enter a lobby and I see an unkonw player with a SR of C or lower what I think is "this guy is a killer, I should stay away from him".
Others approach are "this guy is a killer, I should kill him before he kills me" wich is totally unacceptable but I see it happen very often.

What Im trying to tell is that sometimes a bad SR encourages dirty driving around you,

My recommendation to farm your SR back is to take some races from the back avoiding interaction with other cars to make some consecutive clean races.

On a side note, Im still hating how the Mazda 3 behaves but as they say... "if you cant beat them, join them"

This seems fairly inevitable at this combo. The lethal cocktail of a grid start, the infamous mountain, and a middling SR lobby would scare me just looking at it. The fair-play/awareness is bad enough at low-A/S lobbies so I can't imagine what it's like down there.

There's a lot of nuance at Bathurst and I wouldn't recommend it for trying to preserve or improve your SR score. Rarely a combo comes up which is so dependent on trusting the drivers around you and you have VERY LITTLE CONTROL over what happens in certain situations.

All the clean intentions and lightning reflexes in the world can't guarantee anything there.

E SR is kind of impressive lol.

Kind of curious to know the answer but it almost seems that there is an additive effect when SR starts to drop so that the next hit to your rating punishes you more and more.

I almost always have a full bar S SR and that damned le mans race last fall, where you had to bump draft but at a huge risk to your SR, started to tank my rank. Slowly at first and then very quickly I was a B SR and even had my A+ reset down to A. Spent the next day in race A building SR back and it was slow going. Like fighting upstream in a river

Race B: I think I may have set an SR loss record 🙈😭

I went from full S, to about 80% A in one race! I did run up the back of one guy, causing bumper damage - entirely my fault. I later tried bump drafting a fellow brit a couple of times - not big bumps. Then when I was right to the apex, a car swooped in from out wide, causing wheel damage - I think the game blamed me for that too as I was half a car back.

3 more races have taken my back to about 20% SR/S.

He was "reset", basically sent back to Narnia and has to start again on both DR and SR.
