The idea on the tuned Abath I’m like hell yeah! But Suzuka again?

It should have been a European circuit like St Croix or, better yet, Sardegna C Reverse.
I think the track actually suits the car choice to be honest. It's great fun throwing it around but beware of Degner 1.....it launches you clean off the track if you take too much kerb 🤣🛫🛫🛫. Gear changes are critical too 😉

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Abarth Bomb

There’s something of an experimental look to the Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races starting today, as two unusual races feature in the regular three-race lineup over the next week...

Races A and C look like a genuine blast! I bet the Porsche 919 would be popular in Race C if I had to pick something other than the GR010.

Hi guys, hope you had a good weekend out there. Looking at this week choices it seems that PD is making progress on Race A combos, however it doesn't seems the same for the other races, especially for race C. I see my self in Monza this week, living just 40 min far from the place is an obligation. Btw Le Mans and Gr.1 isn't really my cup of tea.
@NevilleNobody The Supra is a real killer from "Parabolica" to the "Prima variante", you can pass even outside at Parabolica and still complete the pass way before the braking mark for the variante. The others need really to send it if they want to pass you there, cause final speed is insane.

Question for those that have maybe done the same:

I'm thinking I want to do the grind to improve my DR from A to A+. I know it's gonna take time, but does it make a difference between doing shorter races in Race B and the longer races in Race C? As in, assuming equally good results in either one, does one Race yield more points haul than the other?

The uninformed in me thinks the longer Race C rewards you better than the sprints in Race B, but I don't actually know.

It doesnt matter how long the race is.
All does matter is the DR pool points to split after the race is finished.

So in case you find the same opposition in race C and B you will make (or lose) more points per hour in race B

Spent the last week in Race A. It was really competitive and clean for the most part. Good fun.
Here's a wrap up:

Races: 64
Pole: 20 31%
Wins: 15 23%
Top5: 55 85%
Fastest Lap: 20 31%
Clean Races: 7 11%

This week will spend between A and C. I'm not going to miss GR.1 on on Sarthe. I wish there was weather to spice things up!

Had a few races at Suzuka this morning. Still have to tighten my line because this massive torque steer wants to drive you of track. Also have to figure out where is the optimal shifting point. I think right between current gear and suggest gear is best.

Anyone have any idea?

Nice week and congrats!

Was here to ask the same thing about the shift-point on the little Abarth for A. If people are talking about it in here already, it's obviously a thing, lol. Just trying to plan ahead...this work day has to end sooner or later. 😁

It depends on the week and how competitive you are. Some weeks all of the higher DR guys gravitate to B or C and where they are is where you need to be. Mikal or Kylian binning it and you finishing ahead will net a lot of DR same for Naif, Laporty etc etc but they typically do races that are longer and in the quicker machinery.

Some weeks they will be in Daily B more as it’s the better race.

The thing I find as an A driver is there really isn’t a good way to grind DR the only way I remotely did it was at the Brands Gr4 B pit stop race, I managed to set a top 100 time so rode that out all week.

But it’s a fallacy because the next weeks combos I couldn’t replicate close to that pace so back I went to low A.

100% this!

Just based on QT I don’t think I’m going to be remotely competitive at Monza this week (controversially I don’t really like Le Mans or spa for that matter)

I think it’s going to be mostly A or self punishment Bs this week for me.

Just had a little try in Suzuka, that little car is quite fun I have to say, quite a challenge choosing between 3rd/4th gear, put a QT of 2.20.9xx and started 6th, finished second, leader 3 secs ahead, 2nd place 4secs behind 🤨

@newmedia_dev thats a decent QT for Monza, for me anyway, I’m in the mid 48s for now

Think there’s some good racing to be had in A/B - B might be a DR tanker depending on the lobby but let’s see.

May the weeks racing officially start 🤣

Improved a little but my one massive frustration with Monza is unlike RBR where it’s easy to repeat the lines so you can dial out pens in QT quite easily.

It’s that the 2 main penalty points are on chicanes and having 2 of them means 4 penalty spots, half way through a lap is frustrating as hell, why do we some times have invalidated laps and other penalties arrrggghhhh

There is 2-3/10ths left on my table but I really can’t be bothered to chase them.

Not doing dailies this week! Week off, do some tuning! Monza, the last time I was there, I was always hitting everything but a corner, and GR.1 isn't my cup of tea! And I'm over Suzuki as it use to be my favorite track

Here is my lap in VR I should have also shared the replay in game. Not going to set the world on fire but might help a few peeps, or if you have pointers I’m not to proud to hear them!!!

Edit: it’s the Genesis only because I haven’t driven it in ages, the supra if you stomach the short shifting and weird occasional understeer is the faster car.

In race Porker or BRZ for the balance of drivability and pace though!

Their SR system is messed up right now.
I had flawless S level since last Monday (I didn't drive all week cause I hated Brands Hatch), then a few minutes ago I jumped in Daily B and barely touched a car side by side. No harm done, no penalties, nothing. At the end of the race the "S" was red. Fine.

I check Daily Race screen and now my S SR is cut in half.

It’s really not forgiving on penalties and harder contact.

Also if you didn’t race last week but did the week before it’s just catching up.

I understand the frustration, and the SR swing can be really a bit weird, I’ve had the same thing, but just trade DR for SR for a couple of races and it’s all good.

I will say that they have dialled up rear contact a fair bit SR wise in the braking zones (which is probably the same size as the markers they set which are very conservative)

Top end of B as well you are gonna be punished more for any contact, and at that level it should be a little bit of rubbing or live taps.

Would anyone have any guidance on the tuning setup of the Abarth to recreate it for offline racing? I'm even considering throwing in a month of PS+ to try it :) (I don't race online as I'm really bad and really slow.)
