I’ve decided I’m out on this week, not one person will care and that’s fine. I feel better saying it!

Here is the picture of a moron my age thinking BMX is a sensible idea

You look really good and neat for your age, don't get hurt when you're on your bike. One time I was 8 years old and I was riding my bike on the road and I hit a pothole and the bike flipped over and I fell and hurt my knee, it took 2 months for it to fully heal.

Anyways good luck this week guys. It's always carnage at Monza, especially at the very first 2 chicanes, so people have to watch out for those areas of the track. If you have to brake a little early before the 200 meter mark, then do it. At least you won't crash into someone. The Ascari turns shouldn't be difficult, just watch your speed and braking.

There also could be chaos and carnage at Le Mans too, who knows. Just avoid dirty careless drivers who will try to take advantage of you while you're racing.

Small update, I got the new job today 👍👍. Am going to take the week off now to get the body clock back to normal and just generally chill out a bit.
I did log into my US account earlier and tried a few races at Monza. It was interesting anyway 🤣🤣🤣 I did 4 races and got 3 2nd places and a DNF. I was leading 1 by 7 seconds but binned it on the exit of the final chicane 🙈🙈 I recovered well to finish only 0.2 seconds behind P1 after driving like a lunatic on the last 2 laps

The 911 certainly is not that fast but I found it very stable compared to the Supra so stuck with that 👌
Congrats on the finishes and the new job!!

Another good night in race B, a few podiums and Teo wins. I am now very close to driver rating A which sounds all well and good but after doing a bit too well with poles and wins in B rooms, the game decided to throw me in with a bunch of A and A plus guys with 47 flat qualy times. Blimey.

Mass nerfing

Every car could now do the Gr4 career races under this BoP

And thanks PD for finally giving the Vantage a diet, it needed it.

Seeing as the new road Vantage is being used for the TT, and the Kangoo has a special race in the weekly challenges, we're almost certainly getting a CX-30 race A in the next few weeks.

What is curious? PD changes BoP aleways in the middle of events already on course. Despite all disclaimers that they can put around, i really don't think this is rigth in terms of fairness, not even by far. Since the changes in daylies happens Monday morning, I don't see the proble to apply BoP changes same time accordingly. is this really so difficult? Don't mind if the patches remain sceduled on Friday, but the BoP changes should be applied only the next Monday morning.

LOL this figures. I set a very strong qualy time in Race B, 4 wins from pole so far, I am feeling confident and racy, really have the Genesis dialed in perfectly annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd they turn the category on it's head. Why? I mean a BOP adjust to even things out a bit is one thing but why on earth did they drop the power so much? Makes no sense, some of these cars are close to Group 4 HP levels, it's insane.

Crikey I don’t feel so bad about my QT time disappearing I have to say, I jumped into the supra and found it a very nice drive, heavy as hell and I thought to myself, just my luck if the Porsche now is the car to be in 🤷‍♂️

Shame it didn’t stop the bombers throwing themselves into my side door though, I’ll be lucky still to be B come Sunday 😤

What the hell??
This new update wiped out my fastest laptime for race B. I had 1:48.xx yesterday and now I did one lap with 1:51 and it's set as my fastest.
I also checked the ghost menu to add one of the 3-4 replays with my best laptimes and they're gone.

--------

EDIT: I see now we're all on the same boat

Not seen yet but is there a new meta now, maybe I can get on for a few later but really not sure which I should be driving anymore

Maybe the genesis is not so twitchy rear end?

The supra earlier felt like it could be pushed hard and accelerated over the kerbs without spasing out

The Lexus is looking strong but I can’t get a time from it (ignore Hensai and Wind etc they are just testing)

I think it’s still the supra and the Genesis and the Lexus if you can get the pace from it

I’ve seen a few MCL in race and like the vantage and Ftype they have the brakes but just no real go in us level peoples hands.

If I had to pick a sleeper I think the RX vision is a competitive car and with its long bonnet suffers penalties less by the time you’ve turned in the nose is almost at the exit. 🤣

Thanks mate, I’m going to stick with the supra and see where that goes 👍

I can see the opposite side of the coin... Shaking up the Daily Races in the middle of the week is exactly the sort of thing I think that Sport Mode needs!

I can see the frustration in getting a hard-earned qualifying time wiped off the board, but I would look at it as a fresh start rather than an interruption.

I agree and I also think that being able to set those times and then have to go back and drive again is a massively good thing.

I like the QT format in the GTWS personally I just think it would suck for dailies, that said I’d rather random spots or fastest last grids more than grinding TT

As I mentioned earlier this week, the tuned A112 Abarth tickled me enough and at the end I signed up for a month of basic PS+ to be able to run a few races with it. I don't race online normally because a) I'm slow AF and b) have zero racecraft. Nevertheless, I thought starting from the bottom may be fun though for a week. Not knowing anything I decided to do some quali laps to get acquainted with the car - managed to do a totally not respectable 2:24.671, naturally I expected to be at the bottom of the pecking order :) Well, I started the first 2 races from the first row (2nd place both times) - oh my, what a strong field :) Anyway, in both races I finished 2nd, in the second race I came back from 5th. I don't follow the detailed discussions around the game's intricacies but in the first lap (or rather the first few corners up to and including the Degnas) the car was sliding as if being on ice - when I did the quali laps, that definitely didn't happen. There was a lot of space in front of me and behind me for the most part, so no real battles, just casual lapping and still making mistakes, with laptimes all over the board...

Enter race 3 (the last race): I had time, so went for some quali laps. Somehow managed to extract another 1.2 seconds, so I ended with a slightly less s...ty 2:23.447. I ended up with another super strong lobby, got the pole position (with a .9 second margin LOL), lights-to-flag win (thanks @Tidgney for the tip using 2nd gear at the start), fastest lap every lap. So first win in 3 races, I'm satisfied :) (also, very likely to be the last win if I'm being honest)

Obviously, this doesn't really carry any weight given the "strength" of the 3 lobbies but was certainly good fun! I don't see myself dabbing with the other races (though the Le Mans one does tickle me a bit, haven't even unlocked the track itself from the Cafe :D) but was definitely worth spending 10 bucks.

As far as the sliding on ice goes: is it possible in Daily Race A that the tires/brakes are cold? I know that's a thing IRL and in ACC, AMS2, RaceRoom etc. but not sure about GT7, especially in Daily Race A. I was certainly caught out by this sliding in the first 2 races (and dropping down 3 places in the second race due to that).

I already won a couple of races in it. It's not twitchy, pretty easy to recuperate.

In all A/S lobbies you’d expect a bit of control and patience.

I’m absolutely done with the racing this week, I just can’t race so many sweaty people or those (at A level) can’t brake before the car in front of them.

This is not the racing I want or enjoy. And the speed differences are massive you have lobbies with people on 1.50/1.51 racing people with 1.47/1.48s and thinking that they are some how 3 seconds faster in race.

Just nonsensical.

Hm, you know, I hadn't thought about that, but I can see it making sense. It's up to par with the Grid Start penalty if you jump the start, so yeah, needing the tires/suspension/etc to warm up for a lap would be cohesive.

It’s not the massive thing it appears.

Tidgney has done a video on it and he sets his lap usually in lap1 or 2 of a session.

Typically with grid starts is the lack of braking markers or over braking because of congestion.

As you progress a bit more you’ll start to pick TT T1 markers but also race markers.

The one thing I will add is just brake before where you think the guy in front is gonna brake. It’s what separates good lobbies and bad lobbies, people aren’t missing braking points or smashing in to each other
