I want to do longer races but just not a fan of Grand Valley as a race track, tends to be utter bedlam and it is very awkward. It feels like a good circuit to try out nicely tuned road cars for a tune and cruise lobby with some mates.

So Race B it is, I was gonna say I think the GTR will be tough to beat because I am usually slow through the last chicane at Trial Mountain but last time we were there I was eating guys in the GTR and Catalunya has a lot of twisty bits. May need to find a new liery, my 80's Peter Jackson one is betting a bit tired, maybe go for the Skaife/Richards Winfield jobbie.

Same, not a fan of Grand Valley. I think I’m going to stay at Le Mans an additional week although the AI is not near as competitive as live bodies

Go to bed Tidge!
What you didn't see was baby just out of frame with noise cancelling headphones on.🤣

Might give A a whirl this week for the fun factor, just not sure how much 'fun' the vehicle is to drive yet. Definitely be running B a couple times but C is out. GVH is lovely to drive around, just not a huge fan of racing around there, ESPECIALLY in Gr.3's. Seems a good choice to see if the recent BoP updates lead to less carnage, though.

Have fun out there!

I'm just about to head to Fuji.
I'm expecting carnage.
Starting at the back usually works out pretty well there.
A bunch of cars always crash at turn 1.

Started with the RCZ in Race C today - very stable but I couldn't extract the speed out of it in race (even got overtaken by supposedly 'slow' 911s). I was the only one running the RCZ too, so I had nobody else to measure myself against.

The two races I ran had the Genesis in P1,2 and 3, so I tried that - immediately knocked 0.5 secs off my QT, despite it being a bit loose to drive. Entered the race and, yes you've guessed it, RCZs finished P1 and P3!! 🤣

I'll have to try the RCZ again tomorrow....

Here's a small taste of race A, but this pretty much sums up the experience.
If you like loose-driving, high-powered street cars, then this is the race for you.

I'm gonna be there for a couple hours. Need to elevate my b.a.c.

Really thought P4 was gonna put the extra effort in and pull-off the drift pass around the outside...they let me down.🤣

Good luck!!

I’m still building up the new account so this was at a slightly lower level than where I usually plateau. A little seal-clubby but I don’t win many even down there so I’ll take it.

The ghosting in these low DR / low SR lobbies is ridiculous. You just drive through people round the corners.

It’s also taking a long time to get the SR up these days. I wanted to see if I really am as clean as I think, so no doing the usual trick of cruising around at the back. Up to B now so hopefully a few less incidents and some people who remember they have a brake pedal.

Also my first win using roof cam instead of chase.

Just ran a couple in Race A...how can a car that looks sooooooo short drive like it is sooooooo long??? Still figuring this boat, that shouldn't be a boat at all, out. Made for some great racing, though. Only had one dive bomber and a handful of folks working on their drift trophy. Been drama free otherwise, lol.

If you ever wanted a safe place (no Dr loss) to work on throttle control while in the heat of racing, this Daily has a message for you...

The car is an exercise in patience, if nothing else.👍

I should just take a break from the TT (I just got top 500 global) and I should try daily A.

As is usually the case, depends on who shows up and how drunk they are.🤣

Good luck if you do...be a nice break to chase a human -vs- the clock. Damn clock is soulless and NEVER misses an apex, lol.

EDIT
Congrats on the time, btw!! I was just thinking I should try running the TT now. 👍

Yep, the village idiot turned up. That would be me! lol.

I did some QT and jumped on with 18 seconds to spare and then I was like holy crap. I’m on pole!

At this point I have no idea where the braking mark was for the first corner or how the fuel weight affected the car. I completely missed the first corner and spin out and then somehow get stuck on grass and spun again and then spun yet again and try to get going and spin yet again and I finally rejoined last.

I ended up doing the entire race at the back of the field and came in 11th with one DNF. I still don’t know how this car drives with a full weight of fuel. All these TT’s I do in QTs. The car handles completely different.

Perhaps next race I’ll just pull off to the side. Let the field go past me and just use it to try to figure out how this car goes with a full tank.

Race B is decent racing, pace is hot and very even though. I managed a 49.4 and I am mid to lower pack in AS rooms. I have a few more tenths in me but won't be easy. Are you guys braking for the last turn or just lifting really early?

This is my ride for the week, the lesser known GIO livery rather than the Winfield one or folks may think I am copying the 1998 Williams. This livery was never run by Skaife and Richard's , but it's the only one I can find.

I can’t do any more daily rates A. It’s far too hazardous to my SR. My SR is tenuously hanging on by a thread to S at the moment.

Edit I did two more. One I pulled over to the side and then ran from the back. The joke is I still got hit and had to work hard (ish) to not catch and avoid the carnage in front of me. 🤦

Next race, I was in P2 so decided to race but not take adverse risks. I did lose a corner on lap 5 which dropped me to 3 but the rest off the pack was no where to be seen.

Based on that, I need two more races to get my SR back.

I only showed-up because Monza murdered my SR...Ok, so technically I murdered my SR, but damn. Been freakin' ages since I was demoted to A so was kinda freaking out. All it takes is ONE reset to never ever ever want to deal with that again. Losing 20-30K DR in one sitting leaves a mark/sets a reminder.🤣

I got lucky with some good racers throughout the night. Sr is full again so now I'm just runnin' for fun. Had a burner of a run with six of us swapping places for the entirety of the race. Some bumps here and there, because this thing drives like a 600 hp potato, but a flippin' blast!👍

I’ve only been on GT7 for a couple of months, rated as a D but proud of my SR of S. Almost all my daily races have been with D and S drivers. I’ve gradually improved my racing results and was put into a couple of races with almost all C drivers but the majority of them had SR ratings of B, C, and D. The races were absolute demolition derbies and I got knocked back into racing all D and S drivers. If I can continue to improve my results and move up to a DR of C will I have to fight through the low SR rated drivers to get to the S level drivers? Is this what normally happens as you improve your driver rating?

Welcome aboard!!

Crossing into the next level is always painful, no matter which one you're climbing to/falling from. At these crossroads, every single person you race has just ONE goal...to not get demoted, and at all costs.

Sadly, and in my experience, it's just the nature of the beast. Not AS bad as you move up the ranks but still sucks. Good luck and watch your mirrors!😁

It’s an unfortunate quirk of the matchmaking, if you’re near the top of your DR level with a S SR you’ll be used to fill out the lower-SR lobbies of the DR-level above.

Once you do move up to C DR you’ll be mostly matched with other S SR drivers.

Hello.

Daily A: Suzuka GP Layout (Autobianchi Abarth A112)
Very nice. Thumbs up for a different car choice and a longer track layout, instead of a Kart track. Very good.

Daily B: Monza (Gr3)
Always a nice combo. Not bad.

Daily C: Le Mans (Gr1-LMP1)
Well, maybe a little one.
Complete joke, complete shame, complete waste of time.
The person who set this joke, haven't test the race or haven't cared about it, or maybe doesn't have any idea of what is racing.
It would be better just having the Toyota GR010 only choice to race.
I've made a few races with the others LMP1, to test them. The few times I've got a slipstream, I managed more, at least
20 km/h of speed. Which says a lot of this joking event.
90% of the time, it was my LMP1 against a full GR010 grid.
One set of tires, one mandatory pit stop for nothing.
One of the best races of all, ruined by a person that doesn't know/care about racing.
It was so easy to balance this event. So easy.

Never remember so many quitters as we are having nowadays.
Most of the players quit because of a spin, or just because go to last place, or are not in top 5.
Bad losers!

So, please penalize harder the quitters.

Have fun,
Cheers

Yes, annoyingly as you progress up the ranks and get near the top of the next level, you tend to get put with lower SR rated drivers from that level. It kind of sucks. But drive with a defensive end game. Don't try to win every race by putting yourself at risk of bad ending position or SR loss through impact. Better to come in 5th than try for 1st and then come in last because of a bad move.

Keep out of trouble will ensure your SR remains high and will reduce the chance of being paired with drivers of lower SR rating. Before you know it, those top 8 positions will add up and you'll progress to C and then onto B...

C can still be very varied in driving performance. I would say that mid B is a good spot. At that point, most people know how to race properly and you can actually get some very clean and competitive races, perhaps more so than the A ranks (where if you are taken out it is now a deliberate ploy and not just bad driving...).

Hello, I'm a newcomer too (started late Jan). I see these lobbies as an occasion to gain lots of DR because given their low SR there's a good chance they're gonna crash into eachother and end up in the back of the pack.
Be wary, try not to race those guys too closely. Just stay out of trouble, laugh as you go past their wrecked cars and enjoy your top 5 finishes:cheers:

Welcome aboard!

The others have offered really good advice, but ill add one other thing.

As you start ranking up you might find it very beneficial to work a little constructively on your QT time. I find in the lower DR lobbies being able to start at the front and stay out of trouble will get you in to better lobbies in no time.
