I agree with you both but there is another thing to consider.Eventually it is a compromise that need to be done. @NAXEHT has a good point on competitiveness, wich lead to kinda mono-marque races. I believe that this happens mostly when DR is near to change (in higher or lower rate makes no difference) inducing an atavic instinct of survival to take the upper hand, forcing the choice for the "better weapon". In midrange DR, especially when there's less risk to be demoted,
The faster and more CONSISTENTLY you can repeat that you get in to this place where there is more downsides in not being in cars equal to the people who are as quick and consistent as you. Then it becomes decision making, mistakes etc rather than car.
