It'll be less noticeable in VR I think - it looks like what the player is looking towards is in a higher resolution than the things in their peripheral.Incredible!
Also new screenshot
I see big downgrade, but I can live with it as a trade off for a fuil game playable in vr
God damn. That is incredible news!Good news! GT7 is the full game in VR
That’s because it uses eye tracking for foveated rendering meaning it only fully renders in where your eyes are looking. So it won’t show across well in screenshotsIt'll be less noticeable in VR I think - it looks like what the player is looking towards is in a higher resolution than the things in their peripheral.
The right side edge of the car looks rough, but if they're looking towards the apex in this photo they won't be seeing that much of a drop in quality. These pillars for example are a night and day difference.
Track textures and details will certainly be downgraded though, but I don't think anyone expected otherwise.

Ah, I thought as much but didn't want to overexplain something I wasn't actually too sure about. It'll definitely look fine in action then. That’s because it uses eye tracking for foveated rendering meaning it only fully renders in where your eyes are looking. I've never tried VR before so the first time will be rough for me as I fully expect motion sickness to hit me hard
What was your problem with the first one?Need to test psvr2 then, didn't work for me with the first one...
I know $150 is nothing to scoff at. But if you already have a PS5, you are getting a serious downgrade with the Quest 2. The spec difference and most importantly, the software support are well worth the $150. Seeing as the PSVR2 pre-orders are still up, I expect you can find a barely used headset on Ebay or something for about $50-100 off rather quickly.Weeell…I finally got a solid amount of money from work, call it a bonus, so I finally got myself a PS5. And even though I could afford PSVR2 and want it. I’m not gonna get it. Not yet anyway. The price just isn’t worth it. I’d buy the Quest first if anything. We’ll see, maybe in a year. still exciting!
Why not pre-order it now?Guess I will be ordering one for day one then.....😸
Little and often, do not try to push through it if you start to feel a bit unwell, that'll set you back further.I had already given up hope (for whatever reason) - but this is great news! VR2 is pre ordered.

The motion wheel is already implemented very well in GT7 with the dualsense. It will probably be there in the VR version too but we don't have the details yet.Silly question, I'm sure, but will the controllers be utilized at all if we have a wheel?
Conversely, will the controllers be an option to use as sort of a 'motion wheel' for those that don't own one?
I've (obviously) never tried a racing game in VR, and only owned the original Oculus Rift Development Kit from 2013. I am in for quite the upgrade from the screen door effect and low resolution from back then!
To be honest, I completely forgot that you can do it with the dualsense....I'll have to give it a go and see what its like...just for sake of it....The motion wheel is already implemented very well in GT7 with the dualsense.
