Man, I'm 100% with you on this one. Never played PCVR myself, but when I see what GT sport is capable of on PS4 pro and PSVR, there's absolutely no way that GT7 would look bad on PS5 with the PSVR2!as for the pcvr players.....I HAVE to disagree.... (...) I wouldn't believe half the ** you read on Reddit lol....I only go there for *** and giggles haha.
As for reddit, I'm a little new to it, and from my perspective it's probably the only place on internet where the people are even more salty than on Twitter. There's always a bunch of assholes ready to jump on every single post just to make the OP feel like an idiot... I'm probably a little too old for this and can't help but thinking that the world would be a living hell if all those people were half as dorks irl as they are on internet...
But to come back to the subject, I was talking about gt sport with another user of reddit a few days ago and wrote this about GT7:
"I assume GT7 will be far more consistent and good looking thanks to the specs of the PSVR2, the better graphics and lightning effects, the dynamic weather and the day/night cycles. That's what I've been waiting the most since I bought my PS5, so I'm doing my best to collect all of the cars before the VR update. I just can't wait!"
Another user came out of nowhere to state this:
"If you think the game will be all pretty and bells and whistles running on a PS5 your gunna be very disappointed. I have a valve index and the 3080 gpu and 12900k and sim racing isn't easy to run at all in VR so console will struggle to get more than a few cars and they will lower the graphics."
Of course VR takes more ressources than having a game run on a flat screen. GT sport by example, runs perfectly on PS4 fat in "2D", but needed a downgrade and only 2 cars by races to keep a smooth framerate in VR on the same hardware.
Thinking that there will be a little downgrade or restrictions seems legit, so I understand that kind of arguments. But if you ask me, I think that GT7 VR will be the best VR experience so far, and WAY better than what GT sport was capable of. I'm quite sure that it will be a game changer!
Never played iRacing but I've seen many videos and it looks fantastic. I like ACC, it's a very good Gr.3 and Gr.4 simulator with great physics and a solid oline, but for everything else it just can't compare to GT7. And servers are almost dead on PS5 since GT7 released... AC on PC with all the mods looks fantastic for sure, especially in VR!To be fair, IRACING isnt exactly all about visuals....it's about realism....it's the most realistically handling SIM racer out there I thinks...that and ACC......project cars 2 a close 3rd...I loved IRACING in VR ☺️ when I had my 1080ti, I was able to crank EVERYTHING up to max, and because you can choose how much VRAM to dedicate to textures (most games don't), I was able to lob loads at it lol, considering I had 11gb of gddr5X....I'm Intrigued to use my 3080ti though, see how it looks on that.....
But as for gt7 psvr2....I couldn't see them half baking it...kaz said himself that the power of the ps5, and the way they could utilise it, would be a BIG deal for VR....so I'm expecting great things... ESPECIALLY with foveated rendering 😊in reality, it only needs to fully render two small sized parts of the panel....like...SMALL... because its viewing size is increased by the lens, and thats what matches with your eye...but in reality, it'd only be two tiny parts of the the panels..... compared to rendering on a full on 65" 4k telly....I'm sure they can do it lol
I prefer driving road cars, especially old ones, than nowadays racing cars which have very similar handling, no clutch & H-shifter, and whose cockpits almost all look the same. And for that GT7 is the best compromise between driving sensations and contents. The perfectly modelized cockpits and the huge palette of cars will probably make of this game one of the most impressive VR experience to date!
