Yeah, everyone can see that's Trial Mountain

I just got a $150 Gamestop gift card from parents on Xmas and was like "Yes, yes... This is good. Around February gonna put up the final $350 and enjoy GT on PS5." Very reasonable move.

But now, I just might have to double up on $500 purchases 😬.

So pissed, yet so excited at the exact same time. PD always playing with my emotions lol

Whoa!

$879

Can I have the USA price without the AUD conversion?
This may make you feel a tad better about the price. I think the Vive is a lot better but it does put the PSVR2 in to a bit better perspective price wise.

Even though it's more than what I paid for my disc edition PS5 I'll consider getting the PSVR2 if GT7 is fully supported and I'll definitely get it if it also works with PC... but I kind of doubt it having the PC compatibility.

Good luck. I've been looking at buying new PC parts for the first time in a few years and the tax for being on the arse end of the world is depressing. The fact that the VR2 costs more than the console it attaches to is pretty rough.

For comparison, the Oculus Quest 2 is about $250AUD cheaper (all the reasons to not engage with Facebook/Meta notwithstanding). The PSVR2 is a better piece of equipment, but that's a lot of money for something with a pretty limited game library. You've either got to be sure that you're going to use it heavily or be really quite wealthy.

I can't imagine ever buying one. Edit: @FPV MIC, fair point. If it had PC compat I would probably consider it.

After playing GT Sport in VR and seeing what limits we had... I fully expect GT7 to be pretty much the same...

I honestly wouldn't be rushing to preorder anything or be buying into it until it's actually out.

Sorry... I just don't have much hope that it'll somehow be better. 🤷‍♂️

Just been announced at CES that GT7 will be available as a free upgrade launch title on PSVR2!! No further details than that.
No further details, but looking at the trailer you can see the Gr.1 series event at Road Atlanta, inducing that at least the solo campaign will be playable in VR! 🤩

Man, I really can't wait, I've been waiting for that for a very long time and the next 55 days will feel like an eternity to me!

When I hear of great news, I expect this

Still no Dacia in GT7 😢
Anyway, since GT7 has mostly become a car collecting simulator to me at this point I don't think I'm going to get it. After all it seems a bit excessive to spend 600 bucks just to watch SSRX zoom by in VR every day. I don't feel like dealing with the filth online and thanks to the braindead AI custom races aren't any fun either. I might look into it again though if one day the AI is as good across the board as it is in that one Gr.3 Maggiore mission race.

Been saying all along....
GT7 full feature need to be on PSVR2 at some point.
Since it is Ryan saying it today, I am fairly confident GT7 for PS5 owners can be fully playable on VR2, it will be a shame on Ryan if that was not the case.

Having said that, I already waited so long to get on the PS5 bandwagon, I will continue to wait:

Will buy PS5 pro and VR2 when that combo is available.
Or wait for some $1000 combo deal...

I don't like the bulky too artsy PS5 first gen...
My OG PS3 first gen is still too bulky...

Maybe I will upgrade for Christmas 2023 in 11 months.

Not saying it's $600 good but like 80 hours of my Gran Turismo Sport playtime were probably driving random cars on Tokyo Expressway or Nurburgring. Even in that game and on PS4 the level of detail of the interiors was just mesmerizing.

Totally agree!
I played a huge lot of time on GT sport VR and still playing it on a regular basis. When you have almost the full roster it's a lot of fun to drive all of them on the different tracks even if it misses a lot of contents and true races to be really a thing. GT7 VR will be a masterclass!

Bananas. Pretty much a down payment on a Kia Picanto. ;)

It’s my first GT peripheral since the GT steering wheel, for GT4. The closest I got to anything VR are watching people get scared and smash into things on YouTube. However, yeah, that PSVR price are tickets to the Melbourne GP. …but I’ll be using that headset though.

Same here - it has to be a full implementation by this point, otherwise they should have said so in the presentation.
er no.
if it’s only partial implementation they’d absolutely avoid admitting that for as long as possible pre-release, that’s just basic marketing.

signs are promising but it’s still unconfirmed, wait and see, etc,

I know, I know... It was just what I would expect. Knowing Sony, they would keep it hidden for as long as possible

So I need to ask - are there enough USB ports on the PS5 for a wheel, PSVR2 and an external Harddrive drive? Surely I couldn't use a USB hub with either a wheel or PSVR2?.
(I never tried the original PSVR on my PS5).

Hopely they also drop entire ps4 version.
Very unlikely, sadly for those still on the old console. VR2 only works with PS5, development and updates for the original headset have basically ceased, plus it can’t handle the new tricks like foveated rendering.

It needs one USB port. I suspect one of the rear ones, similar as for external hard drives, due to the speed.

EDIT: Has been confirmed by other users that it's USB-C at the front

Wheel and audio headset etc. can be connected to an USB hub without issues.
