GT7 & PSVR2

So I need to ask - are there enough USB ports on the PS5 for a wheel, PSVR2 and an external Harddrive drive? Surely I couldn't use a USB hub with either a wheel or PSVR2?.
(I never tried the original PSVR on my PS5).
I use a 4 slot usb hub with my PS5, it works perfectly with my external drive, headset dongle, and T300 wheel. All my PS4 games are on my external drive. Looks like I may be purchasing GT7 in February as I have the PSVR 2 pre-ordered.

Just make sure you buy the correct sort of hub that uses the fastest protocol. PSVR2 uses USB C and the PS5 only has one on the front. Most wheels seem to be using USB A 2 or 3 so can use any of the USB A ports on the PS5.

The PS5 should have the horsepower to run the whole game in VR (esp. with foveated rendering and frame interpolation) and this is the best news if it will. Still doubtful because they didn't say so, if this gets confirmed I'm preordering.

Unrelated, but I wonder if the front USB-C is DisplayPort-capable? Google isn't telling me anything conclusive.

edit: fixed for clarity

This is good news, but i only have a controller no wheel, but i think i am going to buy it later
You could use the motion controls, a sort-of substitute for a wheel.

I'm in the same boat - I may end up getting the VR2, wheel & cockpit all together.
Shudder to think of the cost

Yes - there is not extra equipment required for PSVR2. It plugs directly into the front USB C port.

You wont be able to use any USB A hubs with PSVR2 as they won't be fast enough. USB A 3.1 ports on the back tops out at 10Gbits and the front USB C is 20Gbits.

Could you send me a model of this USB hub? I am searching for USB hub which wont be making issues with all that connected.

Oh, the latter part of my message wasn't related to the first. :) I meant that if the whole game runs in VR, instead of GT7 VR being some kind of a demo mode like GTS VR, it's an instant buy, but the fact they left this question open is a bit worrying.

I agree, if it had full vr2 support why not say that

I'm glad they show us GT7 for PSVR2 no doubt. But the PSVR2 Presentation on Stage was overall very disappointing. Why not Kazunori Yamauchi itself talked a little more deeper about the Gran Turismo 7 VR Experience? To have the felling to sit in a car and the benefits of looking naturally in the mirror, more possibilitys with the ps5 horsepower etc. But instead he talked about AI and general GT7 Features for 2 minutes... I realy hope for a proper PSVR2 Showcase.

I own a base PS4, I've been wanting to purchase a preowned PSVR to drive in Dirt rally 2.0. So I started watching videos of GTS on PSVR and IMO I thought it looked and ran really well. I'm a hotlaper/time trailer so I don't mind the minimum VR support. I don't want buy a PS5 or psrv2 to experience VR in GT7 which is already installed in my PS4. I hope Thay implement VR support to PS4 player base with PSVR1 like they had in GTS, I would be happy not everyone wants to invest on new hardware.

Well, I just pulled the trigger, I'm fully expecting it to be the full game in its entirety (expecting/hoping)
If not, there's plenty time to cancel order, and no payment is taken until shipment, can't lose really :-)
Exactly the same here. Let's hope we get some news until then.
I think no news until then would be bad, because if it is the full game it's a huge asset for Sony to promote

Did anyone ever try GTS with a pad and PSVR? Not ideal, but I hope it’s playable. I’d be using PSVR2 for the immersion factor, not setting my best times.

It’s a big outlay, so can’t justify a high-end wheel and seat/stand as well. Plus, I’d be using PSVR2 for other titles like Beat Sabre.

Wonder if Sport Mode is going to let VR2 players in with normal players. It won't let me use my stick on my G29 so wonder if they might deem the VR2 an "advantage".

In a few cars the "stick" did give a proper advantage that could not be achieved by any other means.
VR is basically just an additional camera perspective, it won't change the car performance in any way.

That said, I almost exclusively race in sport mode so it would be a hard pass for me if it's not supported

Surely if it isn't support for the full game, they'd have to put some kind of disclaimer? For GT Sport all VR mentions had a disclaimer that it was limited as far as I remember. Those disclaimers were all wrong in the end (it said it was limited to certain cars and tracks, and nothing about game modes), but there was a disclaimer at least.

Yeah. If VR is not supported only because of "advantage" they should drop other cameras from Sport mode like chase cam for example.

Just hopping onboard the hype train, if it's actual proper integration it'll be an instant buy. Given how magic Assetto Corsa is on an Oculus Rift, GT7 on a quality headset with foveated rendering etc. would be sensational.

If PSVR2 somehow had PC support as well that would be comically good but I can't see that happening for a moment.

Has anyone mentioned already that this video looks rendered? Why does the steering wheel not match what the car is doing. The car is starting to turn left here and the steering wheel is still pointed to the right. Seriously watch it again.

Curious how the in-race UI is implemented in VR (fuel mapping, TC, brake balance, etc). The car dashes are not generally fully animated, and many of the models wouldn't have those features to begin with, so I'm assuming there will still be some sort of overlay - I'd just rather it be implemented more organically than something that will take away from the immersion.

I mean PSVR has PC "support" or at least there are several options to make PSVR work on a PC by assigning it as a 2nd monitor.

With the single USB-C connection of PSVR2 I have to imagine it won't be long before some software developer out there has a widely available solution.

wonder if ACC console version will get an integration at some stage, given pc version has it? (different devs I know, but still).
