My bad. I should have read your full post. Now I look like an idiot :D (your file works)
No man you guys deal with so many requests on here, keeping up with all the threads of individual info its at times insane! Especially since the new game dropped, I totally get it no problems bud,

Ahh, that's brilliant news thank you, so the issue was as I expected the same issues I almost always encountered with Inkscape previously, as someone suggested it may be extra nodes messing up the path it was spot on the money, but it was for a reason too I would say it's likely it was bitmap traced originally because that is an odd thing Inkscape does it also does that when using boolean operations at times adding a bazillion new nodes it seems to often put 2 sometimes more on top of each other & right next to each other, it was for this reason I ALWAYS manually traced type in Inkscape to save the heartache even outline type was no good really with a 2 hour job of cleaning up nodes because the simplify was terrible and killed the image :banghead:

Also, sometimes just deleting one node wasn't the answer you actually had to completely remove the 2/3 and put a totally fresh one on the spot, I simplified & cleaned it up in Illustrator node by painstaking node  it is not a great job really as I was more interested in getting to the bottom of the problem,

appreciate you letting me know

I'm definitely not saying you're wrong, but I think there's more to this specific style of distortion. I've made (or donwloaded) really clean SVG files before and imported them into my editor and they do the same thing. No matter how many nodes.

If you look at the errant lines, they all point to the top of the A.

The way SVG is written is case dependent, in the XML a C and a c both draw a curve, but one draws it to an absolute coordinate, the other a relative coordinate... my gut feeling, which I could be entirely wrong about, is that in specific cases for some reason, a line or curve is misrepresented as absolute instead of relative... so instead of moving across by 0.1 (for example) it moves to 0.1 from the origin point...

.. I've failed to test this theory so far. But I'm guessing that by deleted or adding nodes you're force the application to rewrite the code... when it does this it likely rewrites the bit it was 'confused' about in the first place.

Just my two cents.

It could be you are correct I admittedly know nothing about coding yet, I begin that part of my studies after spring break, I just know that in my experience as an end user rather than a coder those are my observations & times I noticed it happen,

I would love to hear more when you find out more about the issue, as in test some theories and see what's what,

Either way for someone who isn't experienced at coding or even SVG creating some ideas as to how to avoid the issue until something more is known and a work around found (I doubt Inkscape will be patched for it, it's existed for a long time and still persists)

Do you have any advice can you offer for the people using Inkscape (or other software and encountering this issue) to avoid or remedy the issue if it crops up? I bet they hate it happening and probably hate having to ask over something like that instead of knowing a work around or remedy for themselves,

My ideas are just things/ways I found back when using Inkscape that either prevented or remedied them, my cure all fix all remedy in this instance was -

Manually trace all raster imagery not auto trace, or outline type and spend ages trimming nodes and realigning handles,

Not an ideal fix but it was 100% fault free,

Don't even get me started with Inkscape, radial gradients and Gran Turismo, OMG! It was probably 65% of the reason I went to Adobe CC and Illustrator, next semester I am learning about html, CSS coding and I hear if you know CSS you can work magic with SVG?

Really appreciate the response about my post too 👌

Can you make these two for me please?

Hello, I'm trying to make decals of things local to my home town for a giggle. If any of these can be made into .svg files I'd be very appreciative. I have tried using Inkscape or xerocho.github but they say file format unsupported when I come to upload them. I've tried making sure the pictures are of quality too. If they are actually unusable then I apologise (pls let me know) and I'll try something else

Thank you for helping!!

Yep, will be posted a bit later.

Sounds like you're just trying to put the bitmap image (JPG/PNG or whatever) into an SVG file. That won't work, you need to trace the image first and delete the original picture. Anyway unless someone else fancies it, I can probably do these later today.

I was importing them on to Inkscape and saving them as plain svg (getting under 15kb) but then they say unsupported on the GT7 site. I am a total noob though so I'm sure I'm doing it totally wrong.

Edit: just re-read the tracing part and yes I'm an idiot

Thank you in advance for doing them :)

What is an SVG?

Company Logos

If you are trying to find a company logo, the obvious place to look is the website of the company. Sometimes you will find that the logo at the top of the page may already be an SVG, and can just be saved and used.

Company logos on Wikipedia are quite often SVGs too.

Other site to use are Brands of the world, WorldVectorLogo. The images here will be vector images, but may not always be SVGs.

WIPO Global Brand Database are not SVGs, and are usually quite lo-res, but this is a useful site to find images of older logos.

I can't find my image/logo there. What do I do now?

Find the largest, clearest image of the logo itself and attach it to this thread. The image should be of the actual logo and be square on if possible.

No one has made my logo. Help!

Making an SVG from a bitmap (JPG, PNG etc) is not just as simple as JPG > Save as > SVG. This does not work. Many programs will allow you to that, but all it does is put the JPG inside the SVG file. This will result in a file that is too large, and will be blank in GT anyway.

Also bear in mind how SVGs work and try to not ask for detailed photos/anime etc, as these probably won't get done as they take too much time to "convert" and some images are just impossible to do due to the 15kb size limit. You may be lucky at get someone who is willing to put in the time (many hours in some cases) and end up with an SVG that is split into more than one file.

Some logos may just not get done. Repeatedly asking will not help.
Can someone pls turn this in a svg file for gt7

Hi guys,
I've created and uploaded a couple decals over the last few days, but they aren't making it to the game.
They show in the decal list online, but not in showcase or livery editor.
Any ideas? I have succesfully uploaded and used them before

Update: I'm an idiot. I put them into GTSport uploader rather than 7

Hi guys, I know GT7 is keeping you busy for sure. I have a few below I would love to get converted if possible. I tried doing this myself and failed. Inkscape crashed several times on Mac. Corel 10 is not working out. It's crazy how hard it is just to convert to a vector image. I asked our bands artist but he's just not understanding the GT7 logo reqs., and I don't want to wait a month.

Thank you all in advance - and be sure to check out the band Mean High Level, we just released another called "Outcast". Streaming everywhere....

Best,

I had forgotten to attach a couple if anyone can help with these ones (I am sorry) for my local-international cup car. I tried to give it a go again on Inkscape after advice but it keeps curving sharp edges and I've tried to understand the tracing process but can't get it to work. I understand if these don't get done as I've already asked for some but thanks again!

Would anyone be able to do the bottom text part for me? There's only a horrible autotrace I could find :grumpy:

Thank you very much - would the image for the mining one not work? That's the one I was trying myself on Inkscape

I tried a few thing but it keeps coming out all curved and 'smooth'

Can someone create a simple font wording for me.
BLUESPEED RACING (bold and slanting) for a windshield banner.
Doing it letter by letter is a pain.
Thankyou.

Hey Gentlemen,
If any talented decal editors could direct me where to find the Urban Grid decals shown below for GT7, or are willing to format these into svg, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Would appreciate if someone could make these
