GT7 Tuning Calculator - Download v3.3 all new cars added!!

i see. understood. Thanks for the calrification. i always thought the suspension setting also affect the rotational Gs.
It did when the game launched. PD took it out of the PP calculations a while back due to "exploits".

The rotational G figures in game are calculated based on the stock suspension settings.

Hello!

To anyone who has not seen or been interested in the GT7 Tuning Calculator, we have got to a great point now, from a simple spring calculator it has now evolved into a full on setup sheet with all settings calculated from each cars parameters and we have had some great results!!

I am now at a point where I would like to get this developed into the app that I think it so desperately needs now.

I was thinking of doing this myself but with the complexity of it, learning to translate the code from xml to js or python will be to time consuming and take months.

This is where everyone on here can help!

If you can all promote the calculator anywhere and everywhere you can so that we can get the support we need to get this professionally developed into a web app.

Thanks to all those involved and for all your purchases over the last few months and all your help in getting this to where it is now!
I know some coders irl might be able to help. If you want I can introduce you to them.

Nice work so far!
I've got an issue with the SF23 super formula car. On the picture below, the calculator outputs a front natural frequency far outside the setup range ingame, even with the softest setting
sf23..PNG

Straight away I can see what is throwing this out. I haven’t even bought one of these yet so I haven’t tested. Front ride height 25??? Lol No wonder. I’ll get a fix up asap.

For these SF cars I would also do the following;

Add 80kg of ballast to +50 (front) decreasing the understeer at low speed, raise ride height to 35/55, increase F downforce to 1500, rear to 1850. Use stiffness 1 and RH tyre setting for now until I fix the glitch.

GREAT UPDATE!!
I´m so happy with the Calculator. It answers so many questions. THANK YOU!
I found out, that the "Spring Rate" is totally out of range when I try to set up the "Huracán GT3 '15".
And the Power of the car can only be added in HP (British Horsepower), not in KW (Kilowatts).

Hello nrc_nilz79,

Thanks glad you’re finding it useful.

I will check out the spring rate for the car mentioned.

Didn’t even realise that’s KW was used in GT7 I will add an option to select this.

Update will follow asap!

That would be great! I think Kilowatts is used in most of the european language settings. In german settings there are kW (Kilowatt), Nm (Newtonmeter), cm³ (Kubikzentimeter) and kg (Kilogramm). :)

I can’t find any issue with the setting for the Huracan GT3 can you show me the settings your working with…

I had accidentally canceled my download for the most recent version and it won't let me try to download it again... Is there anything I can do or did I just mess up? @_@

Good morning,

Send me your order number and I’ll reset the download link…

You all should have had an email for the new V2.02 updated calculator.

KW power option added.
Couple of bug fixes corrected.

1 thing I will mention is that the Super formula cars have some very odd settings. With the front ride height only 25mm off the ground and the lever ratio being so low it makes the front spring frequency extremely high. There is no way for me to correct this without altering the balance of the car which can’t be right.

The only way to setup these cars with the correct balance of spring frequencies is to do as I mentioned previously here;

Add 80kg of ballast to +50 (front) decreasing the understeer at low speed, raise ride height to 35/55, increase F downforce to 1500, rear to 1850. Use stiffness 1 and RH tyre setting for now until I fix the glitch.

I've just downloaded it today and am having trouble, could someone advise me what I'm doing wrong (trying to use a car I've tuned already). I'm filling out all the fields correctly I think and have plotted the line etc but when I hit calculate the RPM@ Max Power cell resets to zero so all gear ratios etc remain at 0. Images of before I hit calculate.

Did you name the graph plot as “Torque”?

I did, I selected the plot and typed Torque. Or is that not the way to do it? You can see it in the 2nd pic I uploaded.
Ahhh, no that’s not right.

You need to type Torque in the name range box left hand side of the screen below the menu bar.

I'm spotting something unusual and it could be me doing something wrong. I'm trying to set a 600pp tune for the RS500 Cosworth. I enter all the data and max power on this car is at 6900RPM, change the image for the Output Adjustment, plot a new Torque curve and hit calculate and the settings come up. But, the Max Power goes back up to 7932RPM instead of the 6900 I entered. If I go back and manually change it to 6900RPM it gives different LSD and gear ratios. Which ones are right?

Edit: Also the car tops out at 162MPH even though I have max speed set to 185MPH in the sheet

Yeah the front spring frequency for the Super Formulas is by default set very high in the game (6.something IIRC).

I recall reading that the Formula cars have a different aero profile compared to the rest of the cars in the game. May have something to do with it.

You aren’t doing anything wrong, this is the macro inputting the RPM value calculated from the dyno plot. It’s actually the point at where optimum shift is at. All to do with Tractive force curves.

I noticed the speed difference on the cosworth as well. I’ll see if I can figure out what is happening here.

Hello! Obviously, I´m an idiot ... Everything okay now. Yesterday I had different spring rates. they were around 2.3

@hookedonturbo

Thanks for the updates and I had a quick look at the latest version yesterday. I'm not getting the final drive/user input or calc section. I was looking to use the calculated number but no number appears in the box when I've selected calc? Also not managed to get my head round the adding the torque curve graph. I'm sure it's very simple for everyone else I'm just not getting the steps.

Have you taken the YouTube instructions video's down? I just wanted to double check the steps and not have to bug you with simple 'how to' qustions.

All good though and the suspension set up part of the tune improved the stability of the car I was using for this weeks online race challenge which is an Alpine 220 detuned down to 500pp. So really good to be able to have the option of more aggressive camber etc with faster tyre wear to set a qualifying lap and a more moderate set up for the race itself.

The final drive input will only appear when you select user input. The calc input will be calculated in the gear ratio settings.

I will try and get a new updated user video guide online today if I can. The other one wasn’t relevant anymore. Feel free to ask questions if you need to…

Glad to hear the setups are helping!
