GT7 Tuning Calculator - Download v3.3 all new cars added!!

Just noticed something that might finally explain the weirdness with the GT-R GT500's spring values since v1.9.

The calculator treats the GT-R NISMO GT3 13, GT-R NISMO GT3 18, and GT-R NISMO GT500 as 4WD cars but they're all actually RWD in game.

Compared to v1.8 when they were consistent with the other Gr3/Gr2 cars:

Hi Techlet,

Now that makes sense, I’ll check the data table and see why this has been knocked out of sync. Bloody Vlookup is just too inconsistent. I’m going to change it all to Index/match function, that should fix it…

I have checked this, and both the lite and expert versions, V2.03 & V2.05 respectively are working as they should. There is something strange going on here.

I’m going to change the formulas anyway as I said before Vlookup can be be inconsistent and see how this goes.

Very strange indeed. I wanted to make sure it's not Excel 2016 causing problems again and tried the latest lite and expert calcs using online Excel. The same issue happens there as well.

Hey,

I decided that I won't use the expert version for now. It just doesn't work for me. Sometimes I get errors after I hit Calculate. And when I don't get an error, the Power & Torque graphs don't match with the values I entered and the torque freeform shape that I drew. Maybe I'm too stupid or it's because of my excel version. (Mac User, Excel Version 16.73, only bought for the calculator ).

So now I want to wait, until an App Version of the calculator will be released. In the meantime I want to use the lite version. Now my question/problem. I don't know when exactly, but in one of the latest updates for the lite version, you removed the rpm at max torque calculation. Now there is no way to "play" around with the gearing except by changing the desired top speed.

Why did you remove this option? I assume to simplify the whole process? 😅

Hi Joel,

Thanks for the message. I am sorry that you are having issues using the expert version. I also run on a mac, I think where you are having an issue with the power and torque graphs not matching, I also have a glitch with sometimes. Try scrolling right down underneath the graphs

Where it says torque, I’ve left this unlocked, click in there and press enter. Basically just forcing it to refresh that cell. It should then update the graphs to the current one your working on.

in regards to the lite version, the option I removed for RPM at max torque was just too confusing for some, I tried to simplify it and it now automatically uses a 80% value of the RPM at max power. I’ll have a think and see if there is a better way to make this work.

Let me know if the above fix works for the expert version.

Morning all,

Web app development is under way!

I am looking to add the following features/tweaks to the excel calculator before the developer gets too far into the build. Please feel free to comment or add any ideas that you think will make it better. Some of the current features of the excel sheet will become naturally integrated into the app, for instance the search function will be more refined and usable by everyone.

Both Expert and Lite Versions
1. Add a Oversteer/Understeer selector.
2. Make the stiffness setting wider in range.
3. Add a Roll Bar stiffness selector.

Lite Version Only
1. Include a gear ratio tweak selector in place of the RPM @ max torque input that was removed in a previous version.

There was mention previously of storing tunes for each particular car in the app, so you can go back to it rather than reentering all the stats every time. might be able to do something with this if you all think it would be good to have…
That would be awesome!

Excellent Idea!

Maybe you can add a feature like the calc input/user input you did for the final gear, something that let you choose between the auto setting at 80% and your own setting. I’m using the last version of the lite calc and also the 1.91 just to be able to play with the rpm, I like to listen my V12 screaming.

It’s impressive to see the evolution of this « simple » calculator made for gears and springs became a game changer and a must have to play GT7

Thank Galiz, this is something I am looking to incorporate asap.

The Calculator is really improving how much I am enjoying trying out the new engine swaps. I am mainly using the lite version at the moment. Will fine tune transmitting at a later time with the full version as that needs a computer. Interested to see how the final app manages the power/torgue/rpm curves. The enhancements you are suggesting sound like great adds. Some of the choices i make to manage the pp to give more power make the cars understeer a little too much - the slider you suggest will help a lot. Wondering if you can also add Racing Intermediate to the tyre choices? Sometimes stuck with rain like the “race of turbo sports cars” 700pp. I know i can use Sports in the wet, but might be good to have a Racing IM tune in the back pocket - especially for races where there is not tyre wear - or is it the same from a suspension perspective as one of the other options? Thanks

So Exell must be required for this to work? It would have been nice to know this before I bought it. I didn't see a list of requirements needed for it to operate. I converted it with Google sheets but I can't activate macros or edit the sheet in any way. Any ideas before I abandon the the whole thing?

Hi Jay,

It does state you will need to open this in excel desktop version.

you can either purchase excel or I can refund you and you can but the lite version which you can use on excel online.

Let me know what you want to do.

OOps! guess I didn't see that. I apologize.

No Apologies needed, it’s an honest mistake. are you okay with getting excel to run it or go with the lite version online?
I sent a PM but Lite version will be fine Thanks! (Which I still have the Lite version.)

Hey, quick question about the download links. I got one but I got a Pro version. Should I have 2 links or should I download that on my PC and the insral a file on my phone? Sorry if this has already been answered!

Hi Black Rook,

Both links can be downloaded to computer. The Expert version need a computer and excel desktop version.

The lite version can be uploaded to OneDrive and opened with excel online or mobile excel app.

thanks that kinda worked, I even tried lower with 220 but then it redline to early. I guess I'll try at 230 or 240 the next round. Seems counter initiative to lower the max speed.

It is the top speed you can actually achieve for each track… it will all depend on your car and it’s power

You could adjust the final drive in game to get your desired top speed, feed it back into the calculator as user input and calculate the gear ratios around that.

Takes a bit of trial and error but it should get you there in the end.
