GT7 Tuning Calculator - Download v3.3 all new cars added!!

First time using this as I've been waiting for the geometery settings to be added and I've encountered a problem on the first tune. Trying to do a tune for a maxed Mini Cooper S '05 and I've managed to input all the data, plot the new Torque curve etc and when I get the part where I hit Calculate I get an error and the RPM @ Max Power field changes to #REF! and there are no Diff values. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Are you sure you named the torque curve shape “Torque”?

Ona completely unrelated note, Is the low speed stability figure you inputted correct? Positive 0.32?

I’ll see if I can replicate the error with the same car. What’s the RPM at max power you put in?

Yep..

Yep..

Debug gives this..

Seems there’s a bug with the final drive calc input on this one. I’ll get this fixed, for now change to to user input and try 3.500

I input the same values as you and got the same error. Changed to user final drive and it works perfectly!

RPM at Max Power was 286BHP/7100RPM

Thanks, I'll give it a try :)

Good stuff. Love the new interface.

Just want to confirm: is Tire Wear in the calculator referring to how aggressively we want the camber and toe to be set or to the in-game event's tire wear multiplier setting?

Pukka, I’ve fixed this issue already, just wait and see if there are anymore bugs. I’m sure @Techlet will find some lol
One small thing.

The input fields in the left column are a bit short. Four digit weight ends up being displayed as #######:

Doesn't affect the actual calculations!

It’s based on the tyre wear system in game. Just not exactly correlated, so I’ve kept it as, slow, moderate and fast. But it is basically higher camber etc…

Lol what? I had the same issue before and made font smaller to correct, what were the digits??

Morning peeps!

Hope your are all enjoying the new update!

I am now at a point where I would like to get this developed into the app that I think it so desperately needs now.

I was thinking of doing this myself but with the complexity of it, learning to translate the code from xml to js or python will be to time consuming and take months.

This is where everyone on here can help!

If you can all promote the calculator anywhere and everywhere you can so that we can get the support we need to get this professionally developed into a web app.

Thanks for all your purchases over the last few months and all your help in getting this to where it is now!

Let me know how the mini feels…
I only had a chance to try it using the controller last night and managed to knock almost 4 seconds off my laptime, how much of that was due to me not being used to using the controller and how much due to the tune is debatable. 🤣 I'll try and have proper play tonight using my wheel. First impressions were good though, the dyno plotting is a little fiddly but I'm sure the more I use it the easier it will become.

4 seconds off a lap? What’s your previous lap with a wheel? What track?

The dyno plotter is a bit fiddly to start with but you get used to it and quicker…

It was the first time I'd tried the Mini, I've always been a long time user and supporter of Praiano's tunes and he's not a fan of the FWD cars in GT7 so doesn't do tunes for them. As the Mini is the nearest thing to a car I've owned in the game and having had many hot hatches over the years I thought it would be a good one to try the calculator on. The track was Goodwood, just one I picked at random and I set a lap time using the controller last night after I'd posted about the error I was getting so the car was on the default setup, then once you'd solved the issue for me I changed the settings and went about 3.8 seconds faster. I'd say some of that would be me getting used to using the controller again but the calculator produced tune felt very good, a definite improvement over the stock setup and that's without playing around with the stiffness/looser/tighter options. I'll try and find some time tonight to play a bit more.

Hello!

To anyone who has not seen or been interested in the GT7 Tuning Calculator, we have got to a great point now, from a simple spring calculator it has now evolved into a full on setup sheet with all settings calculated from each cars parameters and we have had some great results!!

The suspension setting does not affect this parameter, only tyres and downforce affects the figure.

It is the maximum G force of that particular car.
