You assume Sony isn't behind the whole thing. I blame them for pushing PD to release it before it was ready. They needed another AAA title for the PS5 and they wanted it NOW. And here we are.

What difference does it make whether the questionable decisions were made by the publisher or developer? All that should matter to the customer is the end product’s ability to deliver what was advertized.

Yes, it is. Well done. People want the latest models, even if they are "inferior". The 2022 F1 cars are slower than the 2021 cars but guess what? People still want to drive them in the official game, because they're new.

Plus you're conveniently ignoring all the car models that are brand new, not just new year models of existing cars. Ferrari 296? One of the newest Ferraris, people always want to drive the latest new Ferrari model.

Also going by your logic, why are they adding the 1988 McLaren F1 car? It's far inferior to later McLaren F1 cars, the 2022 cars would run rings round it. The answer is because it's still a desirable car for people to drive despite that. The same applies to all cars, people don't only want to drive them because they're the best in their class, or the best ever version of that model. You can't just use the performance being "inferior" when it suits your argument.

I literally said a few posts down cars with pedigrees deserve the spot over new cars with zero pedigree. Troll.

I really don't think PD could come up with worse updates if they tried. Trying to sneak in a Mangusta "by Dior" as a new vehicle is hilarious. The GTO and the Cayman have been in so many previous games. The only car of any substance is the MP4/4 IMO. Even that doesn't have a proper rival to race against.
As for Catalunya with 3 layouts, again, why weren't they available from the get go? To then claim it's free, seemingly 'new' DLC is totally disingenuous.

Isn't the F1500T-A supposed to be competition for the MP4/4? Even though the performance was slightly different between the '85 and '88 F1 seasons, I'd imagine PD will have them somewhat balanced.

I did buy it digitally. Day one. I bought something that was not what was advertised. Hell, it still isn't what is currently advertised. Selling cars anyone? The more people that don't stand up to this scum behaviour, the worse it is for the gaming industry as a whole. I for one, won't bend over and take it up the tailpipe from these developers after they have shown time and time again that they do not respect their loyal fanbases, yourself included.

All things considered, I personally think this is the best Gran Turismo to date. I go back and play GTS a few times a month to compare/contrast a few things. I’m always left with the same feeling; GTS isn’t the game GT7 is. Better physics, better graphics, better sounds, dynamic track conditions, dynamic TOD and weather. Content lacking aside (which is completely subjective btw), personally I think this game has provided repaid me it’s cost 2x’s over with smiles. I’ll gladly be waiting to fork over a C-note for GT8… whatever that ends up looking like. I could never go back to playing the older games after this one. And I’m sure I feel the same way when GT8 comes out. PD gave us great bones with this game. The rest will come in due time.

Trolling? I am expressing rightful disappointment on a forum after being lied to about what this game was, shelling out $125 because I was led to believe that THIS WAS THE GT! The return to form! Look at what was delivered. GT Sport 1.5. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to say.

Like the person above you, I have no idea how you can blindly defend a scum company that obviously tried to nickel and dime you. They tried, copped alot of warranted backlash and now they are very slowly back pedaling.

This game is of interest to me because my money was basically stolen from me. I will wait until it is what I was sold and continue to check in here and comment where I see fit.

Yeah same here unfortunately man. The real shame is the sheer amount of potential there is in this game. It could so easily be one of the greatest games made.

Well complaining about complaining usually constitutes the defense of a belief contrary to that which you are complaining about.

I think that this game deserves all the complaints its getting and then some more. It wasn't 70 pop either, it was 125. Now I don't know about you, but to some that is a damn hefty chunk of hard earned and when I part with my cash I expect to receive what I was sold.

And there's another point, anguishing for six months. That's right. They have had six months to bring this game up to scratch and have it represent the promises made by PD and the reviewers. They still have not done this. not by a long shot.

I hear you bro. I for one will purchase GT8 second hand even if I had to wait months and will not give PD my money for what they tried to do with GT7.

The wasted potential is the reason for my disappointment. All the stuff is right there for this to be the true return to form, but they just don't do it. They insist on this dangling of the carrot to keep the donkey moving.

I enjoy hot lapping too. its really good fun. That's one of the things the GT does really well. Although its not classed as a full blown sim, its damn close and it feels awesome on the wheel.

Rallycross is terrible as expected.

No grip on Dirt whatsoever because GT rally physics, but also no grip anywhere else cause Dirt tires.

If you enjoy driving on ice with tires made out of ice this one is for you.

While understandable why PD didn't have the Marlboro logos on the car, its strange they didn't at least model it the MP4/4's livery after this:

Its pretty much still in period as was the case with the Lotus 97T when it too ran in races where Tobacco advertising was banned.

I think this has something to do with how PD has always valued the aesthetic side of things, just like having generic slits on tyres when you put racing slicks on historic cars. Yes, having those barcode-looking substitutes is gonna make it look more period-correct, but having them on the car will displease some people because it simply doesn’t look nice to them. Removing them will also make other groups annoyed, but given they don’t know how many people find these things important, they probably just went with what they thought looks the best. Either that or it simply wasn’t on the car when they modelled it for the game.

Anyway, it’s one of those small decisions that I welcome.
