This argument again? It’s time to move on people. They are now a fact of gaming life and as long as there are schmucks who will pay, then the games companies will continue to target that demand. I would!

Now please, this is about GTA online and not this recurring and quite frankly pointless conversation about micro transactions. Don’t like em? Don’t use em!

So..... anyone bought the P51 Mustang rip off and how is it?

The Nokota is OK. Nothing crazy; typical P51 knockoff. Which means it is fast, with nearly zero visibility for landing and taxi. Although, the physics are such that it actively prevents a proper landing for that type of aircraft with a nice slip to see out the side on approach. :lol:

Other than that, it's not bad. I bought it for my collection, but I'm all 'cruisers' anyway and haven't equipped many of my aircraft with any weaponry. The visible flaps with the gear down are cool, and it can land with a very short strip. Be careful on the taxiways, as it tips over at extremely low speeds. Like much of the stuff, I recommend it for collection purposes only rather than as a combat or strategic asset.

Edit: As always, if anyone wants to try before they buy feel free to find me online. The only released aircraft I haven't purchased is the Havok helicopter, and all are at GTPL's disposal.

In my unneeded opinion, No matter how ridiculous the money grabbing becomes and how many of us with a real world financial conscious end up leaving games behind due to the micro transactions there will always be those who are happy to spend whatever it takes to get the latest group of pixels on screen.

Because of those who are happy to pay game companies will always do it now.

If I had one little gripe it's that they still charge £40/£50 for a game that will be nothing but a glorified mobile game full of pay walls and "buy our coin packs".

When the game is 100% monetised at least make it a free download.

You'd be surprised at how many people play FIFA or Madden and work full-time jobs, and are more than willing to spend 10, 50, maybe 100 a week on packs so they can have a good team (and a good time) when they play. Especially since the cheaper alternative to buying Madden/FIFA points (buying coins from a website) has gotten harder and riskier, making it more expensive. And FIFA takes FOREVER to get coins. You only get ~500 a game (the best players cost a mil, a pretty decent team costs ~10k), and if you aren't good in FUT Champions or don't like playing the AI in Squad Battles, there's no other alternative to getting coins. Than other people (like me) trade players to get coins, but although it can be lucrative, it can take hours to gain anything useful from it.

Microtransactions are kinda good for a game like FIFA though, EA invests more into Ultimate Team, making it a better mode, with new weekly "free" content. But that content is pretty hard to get if you aren't spending hours upon hours in the game, or spending $20+.

To add on GTA: As cool as GTAO has been, I kinda miss the deathmatch-style crazy fun stuff that would happen in GTA4 and RDD.

Bought the Wastelander and the Monroe tonight. Both are great fun :)

Also had a level 74 who owned a Pyro, Oppressor, and a Vigilante come after me and my friend non stop. Eventually after he left my friend messaged him asking how many shark cards he bought to get all those vehicles. Let's say his response wasn't AUP appropriate :lol:
 
The Coil Cyclone is out, costing 1.89 million.

So, what happens when you give the Coil Voltic an extra set of batteries? This would be the result. While it can go to its top speed in under 6 seconds, the car's handling and top speed leaves the dream of getting a viable electric super staying dead. It's still better than the Voltic in every sense. But ask yourself if getting a better Voltic is worth that 13 times the price. Although, what I ask myself is if I want to reach 100 MPH in 4 seconds, and that's what seals the deal, for me that is.

Broughy mentions it's 16th place in the class with a 1:01.863 round his track. I wouldn't mention this normally because from what I've seen a lot of people here aren't too interested in his times, but what made this stand out to me is that this beats the Grotti Turismo R by a spot, which was the 2nd fastest supercar when it came out (and was my Super of choice for a long time). It really goes to show just how saturated the top of the Supers class has become - in the era of stunt races the Cyclone will probably get beaten by anything except the Voltic and Bullet, but on a smaller circuit the Cyclone actually is almost viable.
 
I purchased the Coil Cyclone today and I must say. It's very average.

It's not particularly good apart from the quick acceleration. Doesn't look that good, has no decent mods to improve the look. Uses the same copy and paste R* spoilers.

If I had a word of advice for those unsure it would be to be, have a decent test drive of one and a good look round it.

That's my opinion of course but it's average.

*Edit* I'm already considering selling it. It's ugly and that's my first priority for cars. Gotta look nice and this doesn't.

A megalodon shark card ($99.00) still isn't enough money to buy the Luxor Deluxe (which is $10,000,000).
 
I tried the Cyclone and it’s ok I guess. It’s like a supercar-version of the Lynx. Slow and overpriced, but looks ok. It’s also the best car in the game if you want to parallel park. Use the handbrake and throttle to turn the front end in and then brake and throttle to turn the rear into the parking space. I might get it, just not at full price...I think
 
Pyrerealm Gaming tested the Cyclone against the Vagner in a drag race and the Cyclone edged the victory. Still doesn't have me convinced to buy it.

The FH-1 Hunter is on stock for 4.1 million.

My favorite saying with this is "Float like a Buzzard, sting like a Savage".

You get a large, agile (Volatus level agile) helicopter that only does one thing, and boy it's pretty good at it: shooting missiles. While it can shoot missiles like the Savage, it also has a non-lock option in the Barrage mode, causing 8 short ranged rounds of devastation, useful for quick bombing runs. Oh, it can also use bombs.

Add a second player, and they gain access to a 50 cal, upgadeable to a Valkyrie's front gun that has more coverage. So what do we get? The helicopter everyone has been waiting for, and it's actually quite viable in most combat situations. Only problem: it's still a helicopter.
 
I took my Hunter, let a random join me on the 50mm canon and I'm not afraid to say. We destroyed a whole lobby. This thing is fantastic.

Of course eventually the "Your personal vehicle has been destroyed..." Message appeared while we where flying due to the missiles and bullets being shot at us but we didn't die.

(Well I didn't. I teleported via Lester's heist invite to my apartment. The random crashed and burned)

Great fun tho with a co-pilot

So... you can either pay 3 million for a Hydra, or more than double that price for something which lacks VTOL and is, to my understanding, is only slightly more agile? Every time I check back here I remember why I've all but stopped playing GTA Online.
 
If I want a Lazer, I'd just go and steal one from Fort Zancudo, especially when I already own a hangar there.

Rockstar needs to hurry up with the transform race creator!

EDIT: The Transform Creator actually got released today. Sorry guys, didn't had time to check this morning in the creator and I didn't saw anyone talking about it over reddit and at the gtaforums and wasn't until I saw Broughy's video on it that the Transform Race creator got released today.

Sure we might have all bought the Buzzard even when knowing you can steal one in free mode for convenient purposes and the Cargobob when knowing it spawns at the airport sometimes but i'm still not going to grind my butt off for another week just to obtain another fighter jet for the sake of being able to paint it when I have the hydra and knowing it performs similar to the Lazer and is cheaper and has VTOL mode.

I'm not trying to say that someone might be pushing me to buy it simply because of what I mentioned, im just making a little rant on how this thing isn't even worth the money and why people might think its worth it.

If you haven't yet, buy the Hunter instead of the Lazer. Its way worth your money and was probably the best vehicle Rockstar has ever released in my opinion out of the Smugglers Run DLC.

I'll be down at LAX and feel like taking a Lazer for a ride but too lazy to haul up to the air base, so I'll order one on the spot and call it in. Then probably not use it again, also like many other items. :lol:
