EDIT: Today was my first day online. :D
I was met by the GTA Welcome Committee in the first race. I really appreciated that PIT maneuver that ultimately made me lose. I really thought the sedan Michael has was the fastest sedan. :grumpy:

But I did get to play with ZDUPH in a private match, so that's good. My personal car is a black Vapid Stanier, aka Crown Victoria. Good to know its no longer an "unnamed fleet sedan" like in GTA IV, when talking about the Vapid Police Cruiser and Vapid Taxi. I have a question: Is the Stanier online-exclusive? I have never seen one in singleplayer.

It's depressing seeing everyone else online.

I don't think it has anything to do with my Internet connection because all my other games work.

What's the problem? Are you freezing while connected to PSN? If you are having this problem, check my newest thread.

I posted it earlier. After a while loading (says joining GTA Online on the bottom left) it says:
Alert
Timed out locating session
 
I don't have school tomorrow so I'll try early in the morning to see if it has to do with the servers. If that doesn't work...I've lost hope in GTAO
 
Just did some races with doodlemonopoly. Thought they were going ok until some ass kept spinning me out so I'm glad those races ended and we went to free roam. Although I stole one of the Ram pickup trucks and as I was getting close to the custom shop to see what I could do to it a random player came rushing up to me just outside the door and started shooting at me. Luckily I was able to get inside before he killed me and by the time I was done they were gone. Rushed to my garage as fast as I could and quit the session.

Its usually near Franklin's house, during the morning.

Yeah, it was fun with you and Doog. Somehow won almost every race, other than the one 2nd place I got in the end. That random spun me out. 👎 But it's GTA racing and I really can't complain about that.
 
I've been looking at and following this game and it's online mode. I want to buy it but I won't be able to until my next wave of PS3 games including GT6 comes.

Is there any space left in the GTP crew? I also want to know if you can wear tweed, don't ask me why :P
 
So, how are you supposed to enjoy this game when your friends aren't online? Do Rockstar really think that it is fun to enable passive mode, only to be blown up or shot in your own car, which you then have to pay to replace? or slowly crushed under another players car because it takes so long for you to get up after being hit? I was even shot while buying clothes during the tutorial!

Did they even test this before releasing it?

I agree. I think the passive mode should act like "Friendly fire OFF" in GTA IV: You can NOT be killed by anyone except police, other NPCs, or yourself.

Completely avoiding public free roam wherever possible is my advice. Load online via missions in a private lobby or the pause menu. It's no real big loss anyway, there isn't exactly anything to do in free roam unless you're with friends. To me a public free roam is just a gateway to missions/races etc. I don't spend very long it in at all and if I want to do something like change my appearance, buy guns etc I use a private lobby on my own.

Don't join the crew until you have the game. The crew leader wants people that don't have or play the game to leave the crew due to limited space.
 
It's also kinda baffling that your location is on the map VISIBLE TO EVERYONE

I'm not joining until I have my copy don't worry ;)

You can become invisible at a certain level, you have to pay for it though.

But it kinda sucks that you're visible to everyone for a great deal of time and at low levels, when you're most vulnerable to some A**hat who plays the game near exclusively to try and kill everyone.
 
Things I've done today while being a "bad sport"

Made 231k exclusively from missions(no redos)
Gone up 4 levels (now 50)
Made 23k From armored trucks
Finally got a crate thing
timer went back down to 20 hours, where it was supposed to be
Parachuted into a gang fight

Things I can now do - call air strike, hire a mugger, and most importantly paint my guns pink

Today was a good day

No. I don't understand how it works, but I asked him to locate a vehicle for me, and the one he located was an LSPD armored truck which was unmanned but sat in front of two policeman. So I don't understand it.
