Literally just did this. A room of 5 people including myself. 4 of us above 150. Guess who gets in the titan, the level 8. Lady friend said it was a 🤬 move yanking him out and flying it myself.

I once did it with a 15 who had never flown a plane in GTA before flying the Titan and controlled the thing with no issue and also had no trouble landing it. Neither my then level 300 friend nor my then 200 self knew that fact at the time, but we didn't care because IIRC the 15 happened to be then 300's sister.

The Titan, fortunately, isn't that difficult to fly. It's big enough that it doesn't bob and weave too terribly much in response to turbulence, and it's slow enough that it doesn't take much distance to get it slowed down enough to trigger arrival at Sandy Shores. Really, you have to be downright terrible, get shot down, or intentionally crash it to fail once you're in the air. The mission requiring players to land Mammatii (plural for Mammatus, duh) at the docks, on the other hand...

Aw crud...I forgot the name of that mission, but it's ALWAYS a pain to complete!

> Kill ton of guys at Sandy Shores Airfield
> Steal about three horrible unarmed aircraft
> Wild enemy Buzzards Appear
> Land underneith cranes at docks to complete
> Most people are incompitent pilots

Just an absolute recipe for disaster. Luckily, I believe you still pass the mission if a majority of the planes make it. Not confirmed though.

You just need to get one there, from my experience.

This just in the SPD Newswire:

Yayy! Vroom vroom! *making kiddie sounds*

Yep.

It's pretty hard to land a small plane in the docks. I remember doing it the first time on PS3 and became the only pilot to land the Velum.

Okay, to be fair, the only way I'd equipped my nightvision goggles prior to today was by switching to the outfit that I've got them paired with. However, I was involved in a particularly dark (late/early) The Los Santos Connection run not that long ago, freshly aboard my Savage after the Granger's GPS was checked, and I went to switch to NVG when I happened to catch--at the bottom right corner of the screen--'Activate.' So that's what it's supposed to look like when they're actually in use.

Got my free chrome motorcycle wheels now. ;)

That mission is easy.

A lot of times I'm the only one who manages to land a plane on that mission. Everyone else either blows up trying to land or gets blown up midair.

This I didn't actually know. Back to feeling like a noob.
Don't feel too bad. It didn't occur to me that they were unlocked after the finale regardless of the role played--I thought I had to be on the ground team and I've only ever been in the air. Boy howdy did I feel like a fool pleading to be on the ground team when I was finally informed that it doesn't matter.

Or simply forget to extend the landing gear, then come in too hot and overshoot the trigger, and can't back up because NO WHEELS.

Yes, I did that.

Way back when.

Totally embarrassed to admit that.

I thought Landing Gear was the one with the Shamal on the beach where you had to land it at Sandy Shores and kill about 20 people?

No. That's Landing Strip. I don't blame you for confusing these since they both have the word "Landing" in front anyways.

EDIT: Remember our discussion on where people have been discussing on reaching 150 mph on the "Highest Speed Challenge" when we all went and ended it, saying only the Hakuchou with a wheelie can do it?

Well..

With a discovery, I'm sure super speeders like the Superbikes and the "ZenT2OsiriSmo" can get that too. Just have to find the right road (and this isn't the right road)

The Adder has a higher top speed than the Zentorno or the T20. It may have the highest top speed of all the Super class; it just takes longer to get there. In one of the no crash challenges I was on my secondary character who has no Supers so I grabbed the fastest car I had, a Schwartzer, and headed to LAX. Another player in a Zentorno had the same plan driving laps around the airstrip at speed. We started at the same time and I walked the Zentorno up top. I still keep an Adder for that reason, as it is still the fastest way to travel a long distance across land. The Busa is faster, but over long distances the danger of crashing and the speed loss in turns brings the average back down a bit.

True. Nothing is fair in Freemode Events. I got that top speed from blazing down a pretty uneven road that's not a highway. Not everyone has an Adder and knowledge of said road.

One thing I like about Broughy's testing is that he noted that in the PC version, cars are faster. And I'm saying he's right! I remember getting 101.5 mph on the Roosevelt thanks to a speedometer, while he records it at 98.5.

Agreed. Pretty mach all the in-game speed charts, speedometers, and websites are all incorrect. The actual stats are found in the coding itself.

The main reason why this is, is simply for thr scaling of the game. With the size of the map and the game engine itself, if you have a car actually going 220 MPH, you'd be across the map in the blink of an eye. For the emersion, and sense of speed, I feel the current top speeds of the cars are great, even if they aren't accuratly displayed to the player.

I am curious about the Lazer and Hydra's top speed, though. I believe they were the fastest vehicals in the game. Question is, will they break 200 MPH?

EDIT: @SomePlayaDude, I wouldn't even count that as being right. I'm willing to bet the dials in cars don't show the actual coded speeds. To truly figure out the top speed, one must look at the game files themselves.
