Thanks Rockstar appreciate it.

All because of a single player field of view script that didn't change the game in any way.

Wow. Yep.. Not buying GTAV on PC.

I'm just going to hang onto it and see what happens. I believe Rockstar is shooting themselves in the foot with this, and it'll be interesting to see the outcome.

No rush, the mods will come. :)

Tried to play some GTAV PC tonight, this is the first time I've tried to get on since the last patch. While loading the story mode, it freezes, makes some weird chiming noise, and then shows me this:

Any ideas?

Just thought it was worth mentioning how good the soundtrack is. Possibly the best GTA soundtrack, but it could never be more of a musical influence on me than Vice City.
R* are the best at choosing music that fits with the theme

Things are pretty chaotic within the GTA V PC community right now.

In the past 24 hours thousands of negative reviews have spawned and the game has dropped from "Very Postive" on Steam to "Mostly Positive". Eventually its score will go down to "Mixed" which is red and is no different to "Negative".

This is because of the mod situation I mentioned yesterday.

This will really hurt the sales of the game, especially if the reviews slam it even further.
I have been banned from both single player and online.

People aren't pleased. I wonder if Rockstar will re-think their mod policy

Had the same thing happen to me. Had to uninstall and re-download the whole game. Didn't even fix the issue entirely, the game still crashes periodically.

R* have put themselves in a tough position. If they want the respect from the community back they have to support mods HEAVILY. They need to fix the trainer, unban all "non-cheating" modders and put Steam Workshop support on if I am to buy GTAV on PC ever.

Well that sucks. Guess I'll do that this weekend. :(

Glad I didn't get very far in story mode.

You can keep your progress. Just make sure to copy the Rockstar Games folder, should be in the My Documents folder. It's separate from the game data, luckily. Didn't realize that myself, though, and lost my progress

All that time waiting has clearly been wasted.

So glad I didn't hold out for PC.

Oh, thanks.

R* are obviously lying when they say that nobody has been banned for using single player modifications (unless you interpret it as 'nobody has been PURPOSEFULLY banned for using single player modifications', which I suspect is an unfortunate communication error on R*'s part), but at the very least they're aware of the issue. The whole Steam review thing should be ignored for now, it's just people jumping to conclusions and saying 'R* HATES FOV MODS' rather than 'R*'s anti-cheat system in MP is incredibly flawed and needs to be fixed'. I'm not denying that this is a huge issue, but if R* got a PC release on launch I can guarantee that the Steam reviews would all have been 'online character got deleted 0/10 wasted $60 never buying a rockstar game ever again' for maybe a month before the issue got fixed and then nobody would talk about it ever again.

A few days ago I started getting a Rockstar Social Club error "code 16". Something about it not being properly installed. I've followed all of the troubleshooting tips by Rockstar Games and it still doesn't work.

Anyone who have experienced the same thing?

R* have put themselves in a tough position.

I personally think that it's putting it a little lighty. The modding scene is what has been keep GTA 4 alive for such a long time and it will and needs to happen with GTA 5 on PC.

Modding is and always has been one of the reasons, why so many people played GTA on PC rather than on console, and it's also one of the reasons, why people have been putting up (me included) with all the delays, however they really need to decide if they really support mods or not. If they say that they don't want any mods in GTA Online, then I think it's fine, because a lot of people will (unfortunately) use the trainer in such a way, that'll ruin the whole experience for everyone, however they should enable us, without any limitations, to be able to alter and mod our game how we want on our own responseability like they have with GTA:VC, GTA:SA and GTA 4.

Another thing to really fight the misuse of mods/trainers in GTA Online, they should finally give us, the community, the option to rent and host private servers, where we can enable or disable mods if we want to. It has worked for more than a decade in BF2, ArmA and especially Counterstrike, and I think that A LOT of people would actually be interested in utilizing such a model to enable their clans and their player base to use mods how they wish and want to without having to fear any form of punishment and potentially even being banned from a game they have most likely paid their hard earned money on. That's (in my view) one of only a very few ways of dealing with this situation properly and professionally without seeming like complete money grabbers.

I can think of one clan, the RCMP guys on YouTube, that would love having a private server for all of their role play scenarios. They can have all of their mods and they can control who is allowed into the server. Rockstar would be making more money if they allowed players to rent servers for a reasonable price, and this would attract even more PC players.

I find this hard to believe but whatever goes

“Hi Rockstar! Please report these guys on YouTube who destroy your game. Look at all the cheats they promote in their videos… I’d be grateful for answers on what you plan to do with about this?” – Aleek94

anyone who posts videos that encourage and promote ways to cheat your way towards gaining illegitimate RP or counterfeit in-game money or duplicating in-game items without having earned them may have their videos flagged for takedown with YouTube.

About goddamn time!

Yeah well actions speak louder then words 👍

I don't mind though as long as they don't make their prices on items so ludicrous

R* wouldn't do that! I mean, 100K for a licence plate is perfectly reasonable right?
