I'm bored and I don't feel like doing anything, so here's an idea for an update (or two updates) to make the racing community of GTA a little more interesting. Maybe I'll go email it to R* and ask them pretty please to consider some of the ideas

Racing Update Part 1: Streets
After his somewhat disastrous foray into lowriders, Lamar decides it's time to hit up a somewhat less trigger-happy, if tackier, subset of the automotive scene in Los Santos. The players are enlisted to jack two vans full of parts being escorted by a Korean street gang up to Paleto Bay, and bring them back to a garage near the airport, and the rest is (alternate universe) history.
Major changes:
- Hao's Garage added to the game: located near to the airport, this garage is different to the LSC that he runs, as certain vehicles have the option of getting fitted with the latest prototype parts that haven't even hit shelves yet. Eligible vehicles include:
- Karin Futo
- Karin Sultan
- Karin Kuruma (non-armored version only)
- Maibatsu Penumbra
- Benefactor Schwartzer
- Schyster Fusilade
- Maibatsu Rotis (NEW: Based off of the Mazda RX7, also possibly with small design elements from the RX8)
- Annis Horizon (NEW: Based off of design elements from several Skyline GTRs, primarily the R33 and R34 obviously)
- Eligible vehicles must first receive a modification which turns them into custom versions of the respective vehicles - the custom versions (which will be called Street Racers from here on out) will get a fairly major visual change with a wide body kit, but also a huge performance boost which puts them around the pace of the vehicles at the top of the Sports class (think around the range of Carbonizzaire to Jester, so all useable in races)
- Street Racers may receive these modifications, some ricey, some not:
Bumpers
- Different intercooler designs
- Modifications to the body kit in general
Doors
- Opening style (standard, scissor, suicide) (this applies to all 4 doors on the Sultan and Kuruma)
Engine
- Various visual modifications such as air filters, interior neons, etc
Interior
- Bobbleheads
- Speakers
- Steering Wheels
- Gear Knobs
- Generally all the lowrider stuff, but designed by a 12 year old who just finished playing NFSU2 (like everything else in this list, funnily enough)
Lights
- Different coloured headlights
Paint
- Liveries (sadly no custom ones)
Trunk
- Speakers
- Nitrous (one bottle, two bottles, four bottles) (this will be explained later)
Windows
- Different coloured window tints
- Nitrous: Once bottles of nitrous have been placed into a Street Racer, use the horn whilst holding the A button (or whatever button you use for hydraulics) to use nitrous, which is displayed in a similar fashion to KERS and works in a similar fashion in general: once used, the car gets a short boost of speed, and the bar is either depleted fully, halfway or a quarter of the way; this depends on how many nitrous bottles were placed in the trunk. A Street Racer with no Nitrous will still display the nitrous bar, but it will be perpetually empty. Nitrous is restored for free whenever the car is repaired at LSC or otherwise respawned. Also, because this is GTA, the bottles probably all say 'NOB'
'Nitrous Oxide Bottle' on them or something.
- New Contact Missions: similar to the Lowrider missions, but with less of a focus on driving low and slow and more of a focus on driving very, very quickly.
Minor Changes:
- The Blista Compact has been moved to the Compact class
- The Moonbeam and Moonbeam Custom have been moved to the Van class
- The option to ban certain vehicles from a class has been added to the Race Options section of lobbies - banned vehicles will not appear in the car selection screen, whether they're personal vehicles or not.
- Along with this, the option to select multiple classes has been added. Pressing X whilst hovering over the class selection will allow you to pick and choose individual classes to allow.
- The option to increase vehicle selection time has been added to accommodate this.
- An option has been added to enable/disable Nitrous and KERS during races. This is set to disabled by default.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where personal vehicles could be used in user-created races where the creator has disabled those specific vehicles

Racing Update Part 2: Sports
Well-known businessman Devin Weston has contacted the player with a scheme. In exchange for hooking the player up with some race-tuned vehicles covered in illegitimate sponsorship decals, Devin asks just one thing - that they go out and cause mayhem in order to drop the value of the sponsors on the stock market, allowing Devin to swoop in and oh screw this I dunno I just want an excuse for more racing versions of cars
Major changes:
- Eligible vehicles can be given racing modifications at
any LSC - this cannot be reverted:
- Obey 9F (includes Cabrio version)
- Bravado Banshee
- Grotti Carbonizzaire
- Pfister Comet
- Invetero Coquette
- Annis Elegy RH8
- Benefactor Feltzer
- Benefactor Surano
- Lampadati Furore GT
- Dewbauchee Rapid GT (includes Cabrio version)
- Dinka Jester Classic (NEW: Based off of the 1st generation NSX)
- Ubermacht Seraphim (NEW: Based off of the BMW Z4)
- Racing modifications grant a performance boost based on the base car (for example, the Rapid GT Racecar receives a very large boost to traction, whereas the Elegy RH8 Racecar is identical in performance to its regular version) as well as a racing livery. In addition, the following vehicles receive additional upgrades such as racing splitters and spoilers once converted:
- Obey 9F (Front splitter + canards, racing spoiler)
- Bravado Banshee (Front splitter + canards, rear splitter)
- Grotti Carbonizzaire (Front splitter + canards, rear splitter, racing spoiler)
- Benefactor Surano (Front splitter + canards, rear splitter, racing spoiler)
- Lampadati Furore GT (Front splitter + canards, rear splitter, racing spoiler)
- Dewbauchee Rapid GT (Front splitter + canards, rear splitter, racing spoiler)
- Cars with removable/convertible roofs will become fully hardtop, with the ability to remove/drop the roof disabled upon conversion
- Devin Weston will now pay out an additional percentage bonus for every racecar beaten when you complete a race in your own racecar, with up to 100% extra on top of the regular payout for winning a 30 person racecar-only race
- New contact missions
Minor Changes:
- The option to swap between laps and an overall time limit has been added.
- New race modes: Time Trial, Time Trial GTA, and Time Trial Non-Contact. Your overall position on the track doesn't matter, but your fastest lap does.
- Teams have been added as an option to races. If teams are enabled, then points will be granted at the end of the race based on each player's finishing position, and the winning team will be the team with the highest average.
- The option to set the level of traction control is now available in the lobby menu for races, as well as adjustable via the interaction menu in freemode. (Low is pre-lowriders (ironically), Medium is current, High is higher than current)
Bug Fixes:
- A bug has been fixed where driving over a kerb would grant a small speed boost
- Tyre mechanics have been adjusted:
- High End, Sport, Muscle, Lowrider, SUV, and Tuner wheels will now react to bumps in the same way
- Offroad wheels now grant significantly more traction whilst offroad, but have a slight decrease in straight-line performance
