The picture of the rottweiler is official now so dogs have been confirmed again.
They're not confirmed. The art Rockstar has released has never been solid proof of anything. They're just that; art.

Been that way since around 3.

I don't think dogs'll be a feature, for the player. It'll, probably, be like the umbrellas in GTA IV, - only a feature for the pedestrians.

I think dogs will be in game but the player won't be able to use them.
They'll be alongside law enforcement and gangs and maybe pets for NPC characters but nothing more.

Given Rockstar's history? No, it's not.
I fail to remember any major features that has been cut out of a Rockstar game. Mind giving me an example or two?

Even if it turns out there are no dogs in GTAV though, I'd hardly give a ****.

That would be the most plausible possibility. Maybe we will find out tomorrow on this......

Mind giving me an example or two?

- Working trunks to store items (GTA:SA & GTAIV)
- Climbing on stuff like lamp poles etc. (GTAIV)
- Using Trams in San Fierro (GTA:SA)
- That you need to hide your weapons from the public (GTAIV)
- If you damage something in the city, workers will come to "repair" it (GTAIV)
- Hanging out with friends (real friends, online) at minigame locations. "GTAIV could replace PlayStation Home as a social platform" (GTAIV)

There was more.

Artworks say nothing either. Just look at the loading screens when you fire up GTAIV. Tactical lights on weapons, people playing Domino etc.

In order for that to actually be useful, they'd have to sort out the disappearing cars.

Is that really a big loss?

Ditto. How often did you use the trains in GTA:IV?

I think that was discussed for earlier games too. I'd prefer not to have it. Do you really want to have to put away your weapon before jumping into your getaway car so that you don't alert pedestrians when stepping out later?

No big loss. Sure, it would be a nice touch, but it would be hard to code and ultimately would be forgotten about.

As for the dogs, I couldn't care less either way. It's not really a big deal IMO.

Doesn't matter for cars you parked at your hideout.

It's a cut feature, don't care if it's a "big loss" or whatever.

Sometimes, being able to do so, just makes the world more natural.

It would work in GTAIV if the gameplay would be a bit less hectic.
Which I wanted to see anyway.

Again, it doesn't matter. It was announced and not put into the final game.

It's a feature thats been in every GTA since the begining. Just scroll through your weapons until you see your fist. Job done.

Except the ones that still mysteriously disappear. They were going to include more advanced car customization tools in San Andreas but they left it out when they realized that people don't keep cars for long enough to make it worthwhile. Same can be said with keeping things in the boot/trunk of the car. It's all unnecessary anyway seeing as how you can carry around a fairly large selection of weapons.

Do you ever spend time in GTA wishing you could climb lampposts? I know I don't. It may be a cut feature, but I can't think of a single use for it. I do think they missed a golden opportunity in IV with the fire escapes and rooftops in general.

Maybe so, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment. I'd have preferred that to the rc planes though.

Is that really a big problem? GTA games have always been high in value compared to other similarly priced releases. A few missing irrelevant features won't detract from that. It's actually one of the main reasons the series is so good. The games are highly polished and don't contain half baked, pointless features. And it certainly isn't unusual in the video game industry for content to be pulled at the last minute. Take a look at f1ce for example. They removed the safety car feature at the last minute, but it was too late to change the boxart, where it was mentioned as a key feature.

I'm aware of that, the point I was trying to make is that it would be a complete and unnecessary pain in the ass to have to hide your weapons from npc's all the time. Imagine you are involved in a shoot out with the police. You spot a nice fast car sitting there for the taking and jump into it without deselecting your weapon. After a long car chase, you finally lose the police. You park at a safe house and get out, only to realize that you still have a gun in your hands. Some pedestrians spot it and one calls the police. Sound like fun?

When you put it like that, it sounds like huge fun haha!

You guys seem to be completely missing his original point, in that things are taken out of GT. What they are and how useful they would be is quite irrelevant to the point.

New shot has been leaked from a men's magazine that was meant to go on sale next week. It's the guy from the quad artwork on a jet ski, sorry don't know how to link.
In the text it also says 'the protagonist is an east coast gangster who moved there for a fresh start' I guess that hints at the 'Ned Luke guy'.
It's all on GTAForums if your willing to drop your IQ reading the 90% of idiotic posts

There we go, at least someone knows what they're doing
GameInformer releases in around 12 hours from now

Yeah, me too:D, I have sign up digital issues. Sadly I have some problems my email to open launcher for Digital Magazine :(

Mine don't disappear, and when did this happen that nobody keeps cars? I collect the special edition cars in every gta game. Everyone I know personally who plays the game keeps cars.
I highly doubt that is the reason they left it out.
Source for they kept customisation this out for that reason?

Gutted I have to wait till the 14th for trailer #2

Source? We're talking about something that I read eight years ago here. Iirc, I read it in an interview with one of the housers. As for the cars, they could disappear from the parking space outside your safe house. It was more common for it to happen when you park a car somewhere while on a mission. For that reason, car customization/weapon storage would be rather pointless, unless you're planning to stay in the car at all times.

Not pointless at all. I use the cars, drive round park them in my space and haven't lost a car since Vice City. In SA on my save all my garages are full of customised cars.
Admitting to not putting something in the game because of bad programming (your car disappearing) is not something I have ever heard from Rockstar.

They didn't say that. They did however mention that "no one keeps a car long enough to make it worthwhile".
So you've "never lost a car since vice city". I doubt it. Certain missions require you to leave your car and they often disappear by the time you return for them.

Yes, that happens, not saying it doesn't. What I am saying is I have never had a car disappear from a house/garage since Vice City, which did have random cars disappear for no reason. In SA the only time I ever had trouble with cars going from garages was because I tried to overfill them. If I didn't try and glitch they never disappeared. Never had a car disappear from a parking slot in IV, TBoGT or LATD.
Most people I have ever spoken to liked the car customisation, a few were indifferent but on the whole it was liked in my experience. Seems unlikely they would leave it out for anything other than time/cost/xbox restraints in IV and the episodes.

I really hope they include a zombie mode similar to the one in Red Dead Redemption. A huge map full of zombies with vehicles. The possibilities are endless!

A little digging finds out that it was a common occurence in IV. As a matter of fact, the first suggestion when typing "cars disap" into google is "cars disappearing in GTA IV". Here is quite a good theory which probably explains why.

So I finally discovered what is making out cars disappear people…and no, it's not a glitch…it's actually something we should have realized on our own!
If you happen to drive around the block from your safe house, or anywhere near it for that matter, the game engine starts to draw vehicles in your general vicinity…got me so far? Well, we all know how the A.I. crash into anything in their way when they are trying to do something, and that thing maybe the car in your parking spot. If they manage to push your car, so much as a tire out of the boundry, and since you aren't there to witness it, the next time you re-load your game (perhaps due to a friend being injured on a date) your car will be gone.
How do I know this the cause, because this happens at two particular safe houses only…the two that I happen to be near quite often…and never at any other, have I lost a single car…and just today, I was just passing house #2, to see my front car, my comet…half way out of the rectangle and my NOose hummer dead in the middle. I got out to fix this, when I noticed the back of the truck was smash in on the rear bumper on the driver's side (side of the traffic) and then noticed my comet also had damage on the rear from the truck… and of course I have car density turned up pretty high so at this spot there was a traffic jam as usual. So, there we have it...my theory.

I'm really indifferent towards the exclusion of car modifications. I wouldn't mind if it was included, but I can live without it. That's probably due to the fact that I spent a bit of time customizing a car in SA and the car was destroyed shortly after. It would be good if customized cars could regenerate at a safehouse once destroyed.

Agreed. The idea has been floating around in my head for quite a while now. It would be great as a bonus mode or a multiplayer mode. Other ideas I've had include a Batman parody who you hear about on the news. You encounter him at one point and find out it's just some rich kid who ends up inadvertently killing himself when trying to glide off a building. I'm also hoping for a Starsky and Hutch parody as it is set in LA, albeit, a fictionalized one.
