New rumor has it that DLC may feature map expansions to SF and LV.

Not wanting to have a dig at you Slash, but has that got a source of any sort? Or just some tripe that a 12 year old came up with on gtaforums that spread and suddenly became truth?

No, just talk. Personally I don't think it will happen. I wouldn't put it past them though.

Seems like they could do it though. The cities could be on separate discs, and in order to visit them you would either have to switch discs (people with small hard drives), or install the discs to the HD. It would also be a good way to expand the game with new missions and such, rather than doing it like IV and just having new characters in the same city.

Agreed, but as they've said they don't want more cities I doubt it will happen. They would be stupid not to though. I'll gladly dump $15 per city.

Two new cities with different characters and missions is practically a new game. £50 for the game £30 for the add ons? Oh hell yes.

Rockstar never passes up on content, so we will have to wait and see I guess. Would work really well though if they were trying to rake in the cash. I don't even care if they are half the size of LS tbh.

They didn't add more landmass to L.A. Noire, Red Dead or GTA IV so I think they would just add more missions, weapons and possibly something unexpected like Undead Nightmare. They would probably make as much money from cheap GTA IV style content as they would from additional islands and cities, it would also take much longer to produce and as a result cost Rockstar more.

Didn't they say a while back they're probably going to cut back on the huge, almost extra game like DLC content that they've done in the past? I'm sure there was an interview where they said they're one of the few, if only studios putting out huge DLC that could be a game in itself and cutting back to more 'normal' DLC in future?

I don't recall. And I'm all over this game.

So soon? it's already the longest generation ever and pretty much every industry insider and gaming journalist expects them next year. There is also plenty of evidence, just look at any gaming website.

The Xbox and Wii were released in 2006 and the PS3 in 2007 IIRC, you could regard the Wii U as next gen (if you were some sort of Nintendo fanboy) so I'd expect the PS4 and the next Xbox to be released next year as SimonK said, or at least be announced early next year.

Yes, the WiiU is the first console of the next generation.
But since it's out, it is actually current gen, while PS3 and 360 are last-gen systems.

It's just pretty much on par with the PS3 and 360 in terms of specs, so it's barely next-gen...

You know what generation means, right? Whether they're better or worse, it's the next generation.

Yeah, technically it's next/current-gen and the PS3/360 are last gen, but in terms of tech alone it's barely on-par with them.
