The D500 will be over by 5:00PM EST at the latest. Our race starts on the same day but at 8:00PM EST so you'll all have 3 hours of recovery time to get ready for the first race.

Plenty of time. Thanks for the concern.

I'm gonna change the tires to either sport softs or racing softs (although according to this it doesn't seem to matter which you pick, same performance wear rate) after we do some testing. For the practice race we're still running racing hards as planned.

Please tell me you are not really considering sport tires, please!

This reminds me. I won't be able to compete in the race on the 27th as I will be attending the NASCAR race here in Phoenix. 👍

Could we just stay with racing hard tires ? Because the setup was made for this type of grip. If you you change for soft tires, it will remove sort of the challenge we have when driving the car but if you put sport tires, I tell you everyone will constantly spin... Anyway the series is "yours" now but IMHO it would be better with racing hard tires.

hard tires actually last less than soft tires.

Both are just linear multiplier to the car's grip and were hard-coded to last the exact same time, on hard tires however you're constantly slipping and sliding left and right so the tire wear occurs at a faster pace.

I firmly disbelieve this. They wear faster because you are overdriving (due to being used to higher levels of grip with RS tires). You can make RH last quite a bit longer if you drive smooth and pace yourself.

Please count me in.

GTP Name : RedReevos
PSN Name : RedReevos
Car Colors (body/wheels) : Electric Orange/White
Car Number : 17

Same boat as quite a few of you... Will probably miss whatever week coincides with GT Academy.

Thanks!

No need to freak it was just thrown in there and squashed swiftly after consideration, like any other bad idea :)

Gotcha 👍 Hope it's a good race for you.

We'll have to do some testing for ourselves it seems, but not tomorrow's race. I'll test the different tire approaches during next week. Thanks for the insight though.

Isn't the first qualifier for the practice race supposed to be now?

If anyone would like the qualify today just let me know and we'll set you up. I just did a longer than expected 1.5 hour race with the WSGTC guys so I couldn't make the scheduled time.

Please count me in.

Thanks Wardez!

Noticed that you put me down as number 16. Let me know if you want me to change from 17, and I will re-label my car. Just picked 17 because I felt I would probably just be outside of qualifying each week(17th place). No attachment to the number though, so let me know.

Thanks again,

Rees

There's just one qualifying session tomorrow starting at 5:00pm EST running for one hour.

People can only qualify once obviously so it's set up for multiple days to allow people with different schedules to put in their laps without worrying about time constraints.

how will be the qualify system??

I'm gonna post the full rules in the first post later but it's pretty much a live hotlap session.

You get three laps starting from the pits and we take your best lap as your qualifier for the race. You can only qualify once.

People join the official quali. room and wait to be asked to go out with one more other person to set a supervised hotlap.

Well the trick is they don't know exactly who's watching who. Multiple people will be in the room watching the drivers do laps so all the participants should know that they're being watched carefully.

It works well in the two major series here on the online forum. Always a work in progress though so every input's valuable.

For the qualifiers, I have an idea. Here's what I think : Only one guy goes on the track at the time in a 4 lap race (so 3 qualifying laps) while everyone watches him. That way we see the lap times and also if the lap is clean! To be sure that the lap is not forgotten, we could note all 3 laps and erase dirty ones.

Tell me what you think.

sent you a friend request Wardez.
I am going to try an practice on this course for a bit. I am new to racing games, so it takes me a while to learn tracks. I am definitely not one of those people that is fast right away. Can I join the qualifying toward the end of the next hour, so I have time to learn the course?

We could just do it in free run, Not really a need to start races if we're watching the laps carefully.

Room's up:

Wardez I have a new livery on my car, could you please update the info?

Body: LeMans-Grun
Wheels: Deep Blu Perflect

Also, just to get an idea where I am at the moment, what's everyone's time on Fuji F? I am still on the .43 range, did a few laps today and all I could manage was a 1.43:596.

It sucks i can't take part in then series anymore I get out of work at 11pm now so Sunday race is not happening for me anymore. If you guys have races Saturday let me know I want to have some fun practice races.

room still open? can't seem to get back in. Got disconnetted near the end of my 2nd flying lap. Hope the first lap time was recorded

Please note that that time was because I accidentally cut the chicane, and let off the gas because of that :(

Good race overall, but most of us definitely need work to do.

My first 9 laps were great, was in 2nd/3rd, racing Wardez cleanly (actually passed him, too ;o).

Then all of a sudden, I overshot the 2nd chicane, and the first Lesmo in the same lap, and fell to 6th. Collided with lapierre before going into the pit, and by the time i was out, i was last, and being lapped by Minion.

lol
