GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
Heres some possible pros and cons with the poll results we have

Pros
  • It'll be something completely different
  • It'll add to the GT6 city car group (If it was ever added)
Cons
  • The city car size limit is difficult to work with, especially since we need it to be an MR.
  • We need to somehow incorporate all of these things into something that everyone likes, which wi be more difficult with a city car.
Ideas
We need our most imaginative minds to think of and possibly draw out some ideas that we can use so that others can get inspired.

Dagger311 voted, he was one of the ones that went FR, that's someone who hasn't posted here but voted I'm almost positive.

It can be made to be rotary powered, I've seen really small cars have rotaries placed in them and still have room left over in the engine bay.

you've gotta be kidding me i don't think you got the message so let me say it so you can understand me NOBODY WANTS CITY CARS RIGHT NOW EVER SINCE GAS PRICES STARTED GOING BELOW $2.00 HAVEN'T YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE NEWS now then do you understand now? A city car would be boring,End of discussion

Oh do stop. Countless times proven that city cars needn't be boring.

a 50,000cr Supercar with 1000+ hp :odd:

I'm not the biggest fan of city cars myself but atleast it's something interesting

Nobody wants city cars because fuel is cheap where you are?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...

The project started from the words of Kazunori Yamauchi. "Would you be willing to design your rendition of Gran Turismo for us?" The name of the video game "Gran Turismo"=GT, refers to a 2 door sportscar, a grand touring car in the automotive world.

Its supposed to be a 2 door grand touring sports car. Examples of this would be an Aston Martin DB9, Jaguar F-Type, Porsche 911, etc. Stop arguing about city cars.

Chevrolet wants a word with you.

So the poll car is basically going to a Lancia Fulvia that decided to enter Group B circuit racing? Me like

No, it's not GT as in the class of car, but what GT is to the designers. They enjoy the game, and have been asked to add something to it in their vision of what the game is and what the players want. Engage brain, disengage mouth.

Guys a company made a white body suit with a girl driving it and another company based it on a freaking hatchback (Mitsubishi). If they didn't make GT cars we don't have to! And anyways aren't you guys getting bored of the 2 door sportscar? Wouldn't it be better if we created a convertible Huayra-like 3 wheeler with GT3 wings and a Formula front? I mean its still 2 door so its acceptable (and don't forget the city car size). We don't need to make our car looj like a Wagon R just because its a city car.

Yes, as legacy just said above me while I was typing this, I don't think we're going to make it a box, we want it to look awesome.

Right, to clear up all the damn mess.

  1. The Vision GT project isn't limited to 2 door coupes, its a wide open project. Just look at the new Chaparral 2x, the DP100, the Viviz and the Golf VGT. In fact, for further proof, here is a quote from Kazunori Yamauchi himself, speaking to evo:
"For the fifteenth year of Gran Turismo, would they be able to make a gran turismo, a sports car, in tribute?"
  2. This open idea will create a best fit for a GTP car, so there isn't a dumb idea. Just different to your personal idea, for your personal idea there is a different thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...uld-it-look-like.295810/page-16#post-10289841
  3. The VGT will not be a city car, it will be sized like a city car but can be anything fitting the ideas within that.
  4. Not agreeing with an idea put forward by everyone is pointless as it is a team project, as @Brutaka said.

This could be a city car, or a small sports car in similar vain to the Elise.

I'm actually really excited to see what can be created with the guidelines given.

I know this might seem a bit tacky, but the GTPlanet logo might make interesting tail lights.💡

I had almost the same idea, but then about the rims.. I like a-symmetrical designs, GTP rims in a sort of perforated moondiscs :D And beyond the rims some bright colored brake calipers.

Discussed this 'project' with my friend and I've to admit, a V4 petrol engine in a small car is not a smart choise. A V-shaped engine is the most inefficient choise you/we could make, a boxer engine or a 4 inline (placed in width of the car) would make more sense, just as the allready 'popular' Wankel engine in this thread, less CC's, same performance.
