GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
I don't... Because even people without an account could have voted...or is there a way to prevent that with google documents?
Unfortunately no
Yep Pagani has the patent on Carbotanium, but it's a future where companies may share ideas for a price. If it's a problem I've just come up with Graphanium which has even more strength and less weight;) . Build a film of graphene up on Titanium.
Man it sounds like space age technology :D

Look up Graphene it's an amazing substance that's taking off in uses. 6 times the strength of steel but flexible. Titanium is inert, light and strong for a metal.

Yep apparently it has ;
Graphene was bonded to Ti substrate using APTES as cross-linking agent.

The fiber showed durable mechanical robustness and enhanced stability.

The extraction efficiencies were superior to commercial SPME fibers.

This fiber was successfully used to analyze 15 phthalates in aqueous samples.

There's goes my patent.

That sounds exactly like what we should do. If it eventuates it's only code to write in that expresses those characteristics.
New materials like Graphanium those mad batteries if we go hybrid.
New Aerodynamics, that assist handling yet are drag reducing when needed. Pop up wings and an active vertical stabilizer.

I see it that the manufacturers have shown the public where they think vehicles will be going. We the public are now showing them what we want in future.

By creating a poll to choose between each members posted design/sketch

Guys breaking news on the poll, apparently Hybrid have surpassed Non Hybrid by 2 two votes and now Combine/New Body type is about to surpass city car/kei car with only 3 and a half hours to go before closing!! And looks like it will be an 8 speed transmission

Vote 169 to 178 is oddly similar, no one sabotage the poll right?

Sorry to say, but a city car would be far more interesting and different between all those racy VGT's and different body types, I think we don't have to listen to the poll so seriously. Rather looking to what's the best format where most people have an opinion about...again the small city car would win this I suppose.

An 8 speed semi automatic gearbox would be realistic, together with the rotary engine (less cc's fore same performance) is the smallest kind of engine you can get for high performances.

I think it would be fun/great to create a hybrid car with a 1 + 2 setup. 1 Single engine at the rear and 2 seperate electric engines on the front wheels as supports during calm rides or heavily cornering while racing :)

Maybe it's also an idea to make the 4 wheeled car cornering a bit like a Carver, only the 2 wheels in the outside corner will take a wider position for better grip & higher speeds ?? :D

Looking at the rear of the car, you'll get this idea ;

Corner to the left = |••\
Corner to the right = /••|

A city car?
With V4 Turbo?
You have to be kidding, no one would like this.
The car just doesn't make sense.

First of all, a city car would be boring (my opinion)
Secondly, a V4 turbo? That's for motorcycles, not cars. You would need two engines for that.
8 speed, seriously?

From all of this, i can say that the poll is not working. It is practically a joke.
We must find a better way.
Here's an idea.Instead of giving the community the choice for the car, we will choose it for them.
We must search the forum, finding what people like, would people would drive.
Or we can choose from the poll, discarding what is obviously apsurd to make.

With the V4 turbo, I agree with you.

But I think if you search for answers, there is too much evidence people still like super cars like the Veyrons, Pagani's etc etc. From my point of view, the best and most awesome races came from races in tiny city cars. The Cappuccino, The VW Lupo GTI, Honda Beat, Autozam AZ-1...

An 8 speed transmision could be fun, lots of gear changes and so many miss-changes during a race, that's why I'm in with this idea. A competitive car under 4 meters long, lots of BHP to manage, lot of grip and handling, but also a car that isn't that fool-proof, so you can make mistakes, spins, drifts... Like the Cappuccino could be with the right tune. But for this VGT, it has to be a fun driving pocket rocket and not too easy to drive..

I think we better make a city car sized supercar rather than a true city car, stuff it with groundbreaking technologies never before seen, active aerodynamics, Adding multiple power generator (With efficient size as well) that results in a power that even make RBX drivers think twice before judging but of course in a sensible way, anyone think it's nonsense? Look at Chaparral, come on man..... Laser Powered? We can do this! , but if there's still a lot of people complaining than we'll change our direction what do you guys think??

Or should we use the idea of combine and create something new instead? @eran0004 our favourite candidate for lead designer, what do you think?

Well the problem is there isn't enough space there's the engine, Hybrid batteries, active aerodynamics, let alone the driver space, if we decided to continue with this body type, it won't be easy but I'm sure there's no such thing that impossible

And I can't show the full results until this dispute is finish cause I have an exam tomorrow I can't spend much time in this forum as usual

About active aerodynamics...

Remember the little rubber wings on the front of the 458?

And the wing on the back of the Agera?

They all deform/change position at speed.

Point is, they don't need to be powered, and don't need heavy motors to move them.

I know it's great isn't it. Only concern about hybrid is, in a car that small with what will probably be a .8 or so liter engine, will the extra weight be worth the extra power and can it be positioned in a way that will balance the car better without the driver having to be crammed somewhere impossible to drive from?

Edit: Man you're right only four votes to surpass non-hybrid.
Actually, if you use the newest technology in Batteries and Electric Engine the power to weight ratio is actually better than a V4 or V6 :)

It hasn't to be that tiny otherwise. Maybe the size of a Class B hatch, like the Renault Clio, but then, like Los Cules said a down scaled supercar between these dimensions.

I like the idea I've said earlier today, 1 petrol engine in the back, 2 seperate electric engines in both wheels at the front. So you've the benefits of a RWD and a FWD combined. With a high powered car you can't go through corners and throttle at the same time. With the electric FWD, you can pull yourself through corners with a kind of overtake button ? :D

Now the thing is if we take the Accord Sports body and mess with the engine it'll be an awesome VGT! But that's how Im thinking (I don't like the Kei car tho)
