GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
Sorry Titleguy, you are right

I think it's going well now, everybody respect eachothers opinion, with this workflow we will get the Community VGT anyway đź‘Ť

I thought about the autographs VROM all the competitors in this thread. Let's say/dream the Community VGT would become available in update 1.5 in GT7. I like the easter-egg threads a lot with all those funny & good secrets in the game. When GT7 arrives, we also could
play with the VR goggles VROM Occulus or Morpheus. Wouldn't be great to ingrave our autographs in the floor, when YOU look down to your pedals, YOU will see all our 'names'.

Yep Occulus with a full motion rig, if they can get the motion to stop affecting the view. Accelerate looking at sky, brake looking at the road. One-day, fingers crossed.

Guys this is my second and real VGT Design (cause the design in the OP is actually intended to be my company production supercar someday rather than VGT) it's far from finish still messy. I'll help @eran0004 to make a 3D model of each sketch after this one finish, i'll keep updating, what do you guys think?

Hello all, OK, so the community has voted and has selected @787bcgr's design. Congrats! So what is the next step? I am seeing new, refined and additional aesthetic designs being submitted during and after the poll, so what are the roles of those designs and the actual design that was voted on to pursue by the Community?
Is it possible to have polls for final body aesthetic, wheel aesthetic, cockpit aesthetic, headlamp aesthetic, tire profile aesthetic, front grill aesthetic, color aesthetic, naming, graphics, rear view mirrors aesthetic, rear spoiler aesthetic? Seems like that's the only way to truly keep this a community created project?

@kapnk006 after the lead designer election , all new designs submited are still welcomed and will be use for the final concept along with the previous designs, @787bcgr task is to handle how the car would shape up, i was thinking to assign some people on other parts of the car like engine etc just like my previous statement in this thread about department to work more efficiently

@thestig7807 nice concept there!

To those who have suggested that i could maybe handle some of the 2D stuff, i don't really have as much time to commit to the project as i'd like (back at work the end of this week), but i still hope i can help with some of the 2D sketches. (BTW, thanks for the compliments guys đź‘Ť)

@787bcgr , i much prefer that new design to your previous one, looking forward to see how we all together as a team can develop it further.đź‘Ť

@titleguy1, I'll have a play around adding those lights to the sketch i did, if that's okay with you. đź‘Ť

Giga-Kart:

Thanks to all those who voted for it in the poll. đź‘Ť

Although the Giga-Kart didn't make it through the polls, i'd still like to finish it off. As it is, there's still a lot to do to it, but i'm going to put it on hold (as it serves no real purpose.. except self gratification )

For those interested here's a couple of pics: (basically the same as the first pic i shared but with a bit more cockpit detail.. excuse the inaccuracies, i'm no engineer.)

I have got a couple more idea's that i'd still like to share. Maybe some styling elements of them could be utilised in the design process, but i'll leave that for the time being.

Have we now chosen the design from @787bcgr for the community to develop? As I assumed, or as the lead designer?

I think people have selected his vehicle design to develop and we work on this concept, or we are going in circles.

I feel all other ideas for vehicles need to go into the 'your VGT idea' thread.

What we need now is CAD versions of @787bcgr GTP VGT15. Ready to put details into the design and produce a presentation to publish. Just as the VGT manufacturers have done.

I'm able to help write up the information editorial. What are others prepared to help out with?

What does everyone think?

Yes I agree. We should move on with the winning design. I believe there's a "If you designed a VGT what would it look like" thread somewhere, perhaps that thread can be used to keep developing the designs that didn't make it for this project?

I can start working on a 3D model, but I need someone to make good sketches that I can use for reference. Side view, top view, front view and rear view.

If you guys could model this thing in 3D we could probably find someone in one of the GTP forums that could get your car into one of the PC sims with custom physics, sounds etc. I'd love to drive this car for real if you guys can put it together. Assetto Corsa might be a good bet. You could really make the car come to life.đź‘Ťđź‘Ť Throw a GT livery on it, link the YouTube videos to the GT Twitter accounts...etc...you never know what might happen:cool:

I'm against the idea to make the car driveable in a pc-sim.

I think the people from PD are very proud of their work and don't want tot see their car in an other racing game. From my point of view it isn't VGT anymore and I think the Japanese would think the same. Any chance of being implented in GT goes down the drain.

Like someone other said, a VGT needs to be radical, something new, never seen before. I don't want to be the gamebreaker, but from my opinion the Giga-kart from Nessy is more VGT than the car 'we' voted for. Sorry for him, but like I said, @787bcgr s design reminds me too much to the AutoBacs Gariya. It's a nice and sharp design, I'll love tot see it racing, but it's not that radical and different trom other concept cars.

This may be a great option if we get no interest in the proposal from PD once it's developed. But I feel it's been designed to be part of the Vision Gran Turismo project. To release it initially elsewhere would be a mistake and may be shooting it in the foot.

Well, I mean that's where we come in, right? We all come together and make it to where @787bcgr 's design doesn't look like a Garaiya like you claim it to be... Anywho, I am for certain that even when we attempt to make a car completely original and radical, there will be without a doubt at least several influences from other cars. Like how I implemented similar aerodynamics from the F12Berlinetta and the McLaren P1 for my design.

guys the new year is coming in a couple of hours and i would like to wish you all happy new year! let 2015 be the beginning of our success! now who's going to be the first one to post on new year in this thread? :D

You know what, I'm just gonna stop being a complete dope for making it into 2nd place.

Time to contribute.

On top of that, do you mind if any one of us provides a design for the interior of the car?
Interior, specs, and tech going into the car are up to everyone, so go ahead. There were some great ideas brought up before that should definitely be used. This being an initial concept, the final version might end up being very different.

I know it's a cop-out move, but I think one person should draw each car to see what really works best, because everyone here is at a different level of drawing skill.

Sokira

That last drawing is amazing, i love it!

Thank you :dopey:

The wheelbase is a bit too short it can be longer so we can fit an engine behind the cockpit. With some work this could be an very interesting VGT car

What a pity I don't know how to draw in perspective :banghead:
