GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
In my opinion... the first question we would all have to ask ourselves it's whether it will be a hybrid/electrical car, or not. That affects the design a lot from a purely cosmetic view. Hybrid cars have a particular vibe to them.

Then, yes, I would go for the easier questions: drivetrain, body style. And finally power.
Let's see the poll result regarding the Hybrid

@LosCules24SFA

What date will the poll be ending?

Reason is, having kept an eye on the poll, i have a few ideas floating around in my head of possible VGT concepts, but i'm reluctant to sketch and post them until the poll gives a clearer/more final idea to work to.. I can only speak for myself but i imagine others may share a similar opinion on the subject.

May i suggest that once the poll has ended, potential doodlers/designers/modelers are given a bit of time to submit their sketches/models before voting begins. If you intend on closing the design sharing period on the 14th, then there's very little time.

Dec 14 it says in OP

It doesn't specify what date the poll will be ending.

This is a really fun project/exercise but it seems to be lacking a bit of a structure. That's not a criticism BTW, i know there's a lot to it.

And if hybrid fails to win out?
I don't know, but it's really showing its strength in the poll... @LosCules24SFA Can you make a list of entries in the OP so newcomers to the thread and all of us can get a summary of all of the pages, in one post be sure to include everything from the most updated sketches, and theoriectial specifications if they were included in the design. :D

@Nessy said the thread was unorganized, I think this little thing would make a huge difference. :) And add Bold Text titles to OP as well, in my experience it makes the OP more readable.

That would help, but i'd still like to know what's going on with the end date of the poll.

@wvmgmidget regarding stuffing the poll.

You can't stop it really. So far the consensus is that people really like Kei/city cars, that's all there is to it.

Since when have city cars been a bad thing?

Well Mitsubishi made a badass i-MiEV Pikes Peak silhouette...

Point is, the City Car format has a lot of potential. You just have to think like the Mazda techs who dreamed up the Autozam.

Oh and superminis make great rally cars.

Yep those are nice examples, couple of doors and that style works for me.

Always thought we're normally transporting one or two people in a 2 ton waste of energy. Harder to accelerate and stop. More lateral weight in the turn.

@Nessy what is the white one?

I'm shocked that so many people want a city car. On an unrelated note how can we control people from "stuffing the ballot"?
I find the poll system we currently have Is inefficient anyways. It should be only a guide for designers, nothing more.

With this style of vehicle we can get a realistic setup that will produce 1:1 power/weight to give us motorcycle type acceleration/handling.

That's why I'm a bit of a rotary fan as it appears to have the best power/weight even if they drink the juice.

Hydrogen seems plentiful and less toxic as well as it can be run through fuel cells for generating power.

Gotta love Group B. Rallycross supercars seem to be getting close to the good old days of group B. The spectators back then were as crazy as the cars too. Crowds parting to reveal the road.

I designed it a while back for the existing VGT thread, but didn't finish the view of the rear end. Wheels are a bit too big though and i feel it's not futuristic enough really.

Love it :D needs more rear DF tho Can you flatten out or go slightly upwards at the rear after the red stops, and add a huge wing. :D I think it would look awesome.

Sort of but I still think after a design is chosen members should be allowed to make suggestions regarding small details of the car (examples: paint colors, tailights, wheels)

I agree completely, but the current poll shouldn't determine anything. Should just be a design reference as it's inefficient at describing a car and as you said "stuffing the
Ballet"

Thanks!
I think you're right, a huge wing wouldn't look out of place. When i get around to finishing it, i'll have to try that out. 👍
