GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
So V4 in the front, and I guess that the other engine and electric motor could be in the back for weight distribution, and batteries on the bottom for low center of gravity
Exactly :D V4 in front, batteries integrated into the Carbon Fiber frame and the Electric motor is in the back :) This also eliminates the need for a drive shaftfrom the back to the front, lowering the seating position, while also reducing the few extra Kilograms that an AWD and FR system typically has. :) Which unfortunately means that the torque split is mostly mostly unchangeable.

mhem "V4 two stroke piston turbocharged mid engine" @LosCules24SFA Mine has a V4 two stroke piston turbocharged engine. :D Its FF... but my RR engine is more powerful that its FF counterpart by 120% and its only got 1 wheel... so... its actually 240% if you take into account it has 3 wheels... :D I find it funny that in the poll 4 wheels is winning, but if you look at all of the most popular designs so far @eran0004 they are 3 wheeled :D

I'm just wondering a mid engined kei car? We need some adjustments to it if that happens
Id like to make a 3000hp kei car. :D HURRY someone draw Kei car! Ill design a 2000kw engine for it :D

hmm.... the electric engine for 2000kw + battery would weigh 3950~ KG if it was based on Sodium Ion + scaled up Ford f150 electric engine... maybe 2000kw is too much lol...

Mathematical error 2000kw engine would weigh 1667kg not 3950 with the scaled up engine of ford f150 + sodium oxygen.

There's an engine made for an airplane that's 100 kw that's more efficient... if we scaled it up. our 2000kw engine would weigh. 1488 kg...

@LosCules24SFA pages ago you said my high density battery was cool, here is a comparison to modern Electric/hybrid cars. based on energy capacity and weight.
Second Generation Prius(1.310kWh)(53KG)
Tesla Model S(60KWh or 80KWh battery)(368KG)
My 3 wheeler(240KWh battery)(150kg)
My Tesla on steroids engine battery(2000KWh battery)(1250kg)

Just to tell the community what I think would be awesome...

I would like to see a street legal car based on a Indy Car. It may sound weird, and I am sorry if it is. I am obsessed with the idea of a single seater that is street legal. Also, for the fuel type I put diesel, however if that is not voted top, I am fine with regular gasoline. I would also like for it to have four wheels. Mid-Rear, V6. A lightweight car so anywhere between 593 - 826 kilograms. And it has to have six gears. :P

Thank you @LosCules24SFA for this thread. It has taken off!

Let's see the survey results in a couple of days, i can't wait to start working
And don't thank me, thank the whole community, without them it's just a raw idea @kolio123 :)

Man I hate typing in a cellphone so hard :P

I agree, great job as a community! But you started it!

Off topic, it is very hard using a cell phone for editing to insert quote and such.

Well we're still far from the finish line, let's make sure everything goes smoothly
And exactly that's why I have to edit my post a couple of times

No, A turbo and a supercharger on the same engine.

Edit: I would assume Twin Turbo would come during the second poll if turbo is the final decision on the first, well I'm off for the night.

Just to clarify my earlier point Felix Wankel invented the Rotary engine first used in the NSU cars then made famous in the Mazdas. It was also used in a motorcycle from memory. But Wankel is a Rotary.

Happy to see what comes out of polling.

I voted on the first poll which decided on drivetrain, it's still there but I see talk about another poll currently? It's not showing up.

Guys i have good news!
Jordan the Administrator has replied to my message about the Community VGT saying:

"It is an exciting project, for sure, and I'll bring it up with my contacts at PD/SCEA the next time I get a chance.
I must admit, though, the chances of them working with any non-automotive design company is virtually zero."

To that i replied:
"Yes, we are all aware of that. :(
But hopefully they will consider to give us a chance.
Besides, even if we are not a automotive design company,
we can still manage to find some designers who like GT."

In my opinion... the first question we would all have to ask ourselves it's whether it will be a hybrid/electrical car, or not. That affects the design a lot from a purely cosmetic view. Hybrid cars have a particular vibe to them.

Then, yes, I would go for the easier questions: drivetrain, body style. And finally power.

That's certainly a good news, he also replied my message yesterday, so let's pray that everything goes smoothly, I'll be disappointed if we doesn't get the green light especially with more that a hundred people on board at least according to the poll, but let's see @citroengt1 and @Lucas let's see the poll result regarding the hybrid in a couple of days
