I just found out, good news!

I can't attend this round as well :/

Work...

Darn, that sucks. Its better to know way before then at the last minute at least. Hope you can attend future races.

Points posted for Round 1 in first post. Also, some typos in car specs have been corrected for the Garaiya and an upcoming specs change is in order for the Lexus.

That is the 3rd set of specs you have posted for the Garaiya, I assume that since the specs keep changing that we are free to change cars if we wish? We chose cars on the basis of what we liked within the specs given, if the specs keep changing, it could change what car we want.

I think something else needs to be cleared up. I'm not sure, but it sounds like you penalized a driver for adding a turbo. I also ran a turbo, there was no mention of anything like that in the specs we had to meet, it just said we had to meet the hp and kg and nothing else. I'm also not clear on what you mean by "showroom stock", from the showroom the cars meet the specs, but after a few miles and an oil change they don't. Do we use the limiter to keep them in spec?

I really think all this could have been cleared up before the first race. I'm also curious about how you are planning on checking that everyone meets specs before the race.

Ok.... now that all that is out of the way, lol. I think the first race went well except for not enough people. I think this could be a good series if we can get more people racing, it's just tough to get people that can race on Sunday afternoon, especially in the spring/summer.

As I said in the other thread, I apoligize for this massive error. I have been so focused on getting people to join and getting people to show up, I didn't even bother trying to throughly look over the rules and make them clearer. I have recended the penalty I've given out and because of my screwup, I am nullifying the GT300 results and revising those rules and revising the specs. Nobody should be penalized because of a mistake I made.

👍 Thanks for listening, I really hated to see him get a penalty, he ran a great race and deserved the win.

Yeah, you have to use the engine restrictor it to get to the power limit, I think pretty much for all of the cars.

It's not perfect, but if you want to "enforce" the power limit, you have to do a "staggered" entry. Just set the horsepower limit to the lowest cars that are there, have those guys enter the room, then raise horsepower up to the next cars, have those guys enter etc. Downside is that you can't change the weight limit if there is one.

TBH, I didn't really notice anything particularly off about the first race, since I'm usually in the bottom of the pack anyway lol. I enjoyed it. Hoping to get more turnout next race, as well.

I'm just not sure if we have to restrict the cars to the showroom specs that are given. It says an oil change is allowed, which raises the HP over the specs on the OP. It sounds to me like we start with a showroom stock car (no engine stages or turbos), then we can change oil and run the cars at the resulting HP. It makes no sense to allow an oil change if you then restrict the car back to what it was before the oil change. It really doesn't matter which way we do it, as long as everyone is doing it the same.:)

The staggered entry is a PITA, and weight checks are a non-issue since we all are running stock weight and the cars can't be lightened. If you ever run in a SuperGT race using the PURE specs, you will find that you can change weight limit or PP limit as well as HP. It's pretty much a hassle, and one reason I don't like using PURE specs.

I've tried to talk a couple of really good racers into joining, but the Sunday afternoon is a deal breaker. Most of them have families and that just isn't a good time for them to be racing. Hopefully we will have more people show up for the next race. 👍

Practice is now only on the weekends that have races, right? Also, any updates as to the horsepower of the IS350?

Very sorry, but I'd like to withdraw from the season, I just have to much school work and the unpredicability of my classes at the moment may mean I will only be able to race come September. I hope you understand.

That is understandable, thanks for letting me know 👍

Sorry I haven't answered this sooner. Updates to the IS350 are coming, they be applied before the race weekend starts.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Lexus Weds Sport IS350 - 355 hp, 1195 kg before break-in
Parts List:
  • Oil Change
  • Chassis Reinforcement (optional)
  • Stage 3 Engine Upgrade
  • 45 kg ballast

The exact power figure may vary, I used a broken in car and estimated the brand-new power. Also, all ballast must be placed at position 0.

ATTENTION

Starting this week, All competitors that have signed up must post in the race thread partaining to the race weekend. I think Communication has been abit of a miss and is likely a factor in the low counts so by doing this, I will at least know whats going on. You must also confirm if you are racing or are not racing, that way it won't be so much of a guessing game as to who will show up. Rule has been added to the main page and will be added to the ROund 2 race thread.

Due to one of the poorest starts to a series and some serious disorganisation, I've decided to start this season over. Schedule will be reorganized and for once, the rules will be more clear and to the point and less confusing for all. Times will be moved to an earlier time slot as well. I again apoligize for doing a poor job as race admin and want to do all I can to make it better. So with this, I will be closing this thread and putting up a new sign in thread. All still interested in competing, please do sign up there.
