Should the safety car rule stay?

So what's the actual SC procedure ? We catch up and line behind the leader @100kph or something ?
And do we call the SC for every DC (except for Monty this time) or for a mass DC ?

yep, either type or call SC. All slow down and no overtaking (i'll edit OP with the info) and all follow around. Lapped drivers can unlap themselves.

If 1 driver DC's we will call out SC. Give them a few mins to return, if they do we'll go for a restart, if not then we'll carry on as is

Even so, I can't see how such a time is possible the way I'm driving. Are you on a wheel or pad? I can do a low 1:09 on a DS3 but I doubt there's much time left to gain.

I use a DFGT wheel. You need to set the car up for nearly maximum oversteer settings, set the LSD to 5/17/20, and make sure you are using maximum downforce. You may have also forgotten to buy RM tires. That lap that I did about a week ago in my test lobby, I wasn't fully optimized to the track yet, but still managed to get into the 1:07's, because I took too much kerb a couple times, like on the fast, sweeping right hander towards the end of the lap. Now I am fully optimized, and got a 1:07 dead. I'm pretty sure a 1:06.8 is possible on a perfect lap. Just keep trying, and you'll get there. ;) 👍

yes, and let's hope no shananigans again, slow down and find a way past safely, even if it takes you all race 👍

Thanks for the advice.

I'm on RM already and running near maximum downforce.

I'm not sure about your diff settings however, particularly the Acceleration. I've found a number that lights up the rear tyres at the same time (thus evening out tyre wear) but having it at 17 would put more strain on the outside tyre, increasing the chances of a spin once they're worn down. I guess it's just a preference thing although I imagine it's harder to maintain throttle control on a DS3, hence why I'm more comfortable with a lower Accel figure.

I think I'm running 10 Decel as I prefer to throw the car into corners, doing a lot of trail braking :)

I'm not a very good tuner, so for the LSD you can set it differently and be faster probably. :) I'm doing lots of trail braking as well, and I've found that having the Decel at 20 allows me to not lock the brakes up so much, and also lets me slide the car in more aggressively. What works works I guess. 👍

In theory the earlier the diff locks up, the less wheelspin and therefore tyre wear. High values tends to lock the LSD easier right ? (unless it's the other way ? ) So higher values will help managing the tyres with a pad.

Now we all know that there's the real life theory and the GT6 theory !

@RacingLine in about 1h mate 👍

When does the room open?
yep, doing some GTP ES but will open in an hour

I know I hate it. You apply real life knowledge to the game and it doesn't work :/

20 minutes on my part and got a low 1:07, the tune isn't done yet so i expect high or mid 6s

I'm surprised we are this close in time. You'll probably be able to do a 1:06.5, but I've done a pretty decent time by my standards, a 1:06.9. I have a friends lobby open right now to see if I can go any faster.

Also congrats on your world record.

What world record ?

As a matter of fact i'm on pace for a 6.5, just did a 6.8 with a terrible first and middle sector :P

ok, here is the Safety Car explanation

Safety Car
If a driver disconnects from the room, or there is a mass crash involving at 3+ drivers, a steward @True-blue-8 / @NinjaEvo / @STOCKY8A1 / @David Talle will type 'SC' in the chat box or call it over the microphone. (Mics must be turned off during the race and will be penalized).
Driver must then slow down to a reasonable pace (60mph) and follow around in single file. Lapped drivers will be aloud to unlap themselves.
Restarting the race
If a driver rejoins the room -
All drivers will exit the race and remember their positions. Replays must be saved and the race will be restarted with the remaining laps. Drivers will then re line back up and follow around for the first lap. The driver that DC will start at the back of the grid. (see below for start)
Start - whether the race restarts or not, drivers will complete 1 pace lap, where the host will announce 'SC In'. First place may determine the speed as they enter the final sector. Overtaking is prohibited until you cross the start/finish line.
