Yes, I agree with @Duker_86, keep everyone as you've placed them and have promotions and relegations at the end of the season. :)
end of the season we may not have this many, or even another season at all. lets concentrate on the now

@Duker_86 I know that some cars are better on other tracks, hence why we have the locked in

so far I think this is the best
No don't worry
My feeling so far is everyone races at the same time. Each week we have top 12 locked in. Then the rest do their Pre-Q. Those who don't get through go into an other lobby and can race. Yes ninj it didn't work, as although we had the numbers, they were AWOL, so we only had 2 in the other room. Hopefully this isn't the case this time.

Two divisions just make the whole situation more complicated. True Blue must be pulling his hair out.

Why not do a qualifying round pre-season and take the fastest 16 drivers into the championship and put the others as a reserve incase someone doesn't show up to a round. You'd then have the 16 best drivers on the track, sorry to anyone that doesn't make the top 16.....there simply isn't enough space for everyone and sadly it's not possible to keep everyone happy 100% of the time.

I am :guilty: But was hoping you'd speak out :)

If there were 18 or even 20 sign ups, I think that would be best. But with 24 that's 8 reserves, maybe 7. You can have another room with that, I've seen so many series run with less, and if they're racing they may as well have something to compete for.

Loyalty well I think we've got that with some already. It's why I put car choice to championship standings instead of reverse. But if things were to be ordered that way, it wouldn't be fair based on 'skill'. For example Skeng would be in D2. For those who know, he's impossible to beat (pipe down at the back Ian ) so even with the high pens, he'd walk the floor. (Hopefully people aren't offended, but hose who have raced him know there is no chance lol). and yes it's a ttle won, but I don't think skeng would be that delighted, and may even get bored.

I think top 12 locked in, and the rest race for the last spot. If they fail to make it through, then they go into another lobby, still get to race, with people of the same ability and win something. Like many lower teams in real life, scoring points is a massive achievement. The usuals will be in the second room as well to be honest.

Honestly, I think this is the better option. That way it gives everyone a fair chance and some fun.

Definitely agree with the Skeng thing.

But yes, to do that, we'd have to scrap the divisions. And also, for the points, you could award all the way down to 24. I can provide an example:
Pre-Q - No points.
Race room 1 - (1) 30, (2) 28, (3) 26, (4) 24, (5) 22, (6) 20, (7) 18 (8), 17 (9), 16 (10), 15 (11), 14 (12), 13 (13), 12 (14), 11 (15).
Race room 2 - 10 (1), 9 (2), 8 (3), 7 (4), 6 (5), 5 (6), 4 (7), 3 (8), 2 (9), 1 (10).

Guys in room 2 don't get points for pole (unless their pole time was faster than room 1's).
Same with fastest lap.
Lead a lap is in both rooms.

...

Ugh, this is too complicated. :banghead:

Thers two rooms that truewill put you in. at the end of the season ther will be a round wher the top half of Dvition 1 is put againsed top half of div 2 so we still get an overall champ!

no we don't have to scrap the divisions, it's just where to the point you score go

This sounds good. But again it would mean certain drivers get more points then they should

what you could do is tell some people that this series is cancelled and move the thread. this way you can be left with 16 people so you only need one room.

Tsukuba

Got a little testing done today then misses wanted the tv back, Tsukuba short track I know but I just wanted a short test on what cars could do.
Thanks to NinjaEvo on making the test room ;)

I started of in the Golf best lap a 1:00.887, just had a quick setup and test.
Then a few tweeks and I got that lap time, really think this car has alot more to give.
I was shocked how this car not really understand it was FF drivetrain.

As NinjaEvo was running around in the Nissan, I thought ok lets jump in that.
My base thinking setup on the car and out I went, omg 1.5 off a sec off my golf time!
Bit more playing in setup and bang a 1:00.800, running the car round Tsukuba she felt strong round the final turn.
Holding about 85mph min round that turn.

Think NinjaEvo then jump into the 86 GT, so with me getting an ok time I thought I'd do the same.
Really had to play with car more than any I tested today, I'm a little unsure where it was weak.

Final turn it seemed the weakest car to hold it speed round it, really hard to get it right and easy to get it wrong.
NinjaEvo also then jump in the BMW and he put in a time of 1:00.753 I think?
But I was getting the 86 GT under a 100 of a sec quicker on first sector than NinjaEvo did in the BMW.
Only to loss time over the rest of the track, I really had to play with the car setup alot.
And in the end the little toyota got there, best lap in the 86 GT 1:00.708

Next was to see how strong the BMW was, wife wanted TV so this got a quick test.
My best time was a 1:00.736, also this car most be the strongest round the final turn, get it right min speed 86mph.

My quick thoughts are the VW and BMW maybe a little above the rest.
Ok my best time in testing the 4 of the cars was the GT 86 got the best lap, but it also took me alot of laps to do it.

I did give my setup to NinjaEvo for the 86 GT, well some of it :) as I think the car could do better than the time I got with it.
His reply was it great and he was hitting times in the 1:00.8++

I still have 4 more cars to test round here, maybe I'll test more tomorrow, once I've tested all cars I will start stepping back.
And retesting them as most of you know, knowing the track gets better with more laps.

Quick note off times and cars tested at Tsukuba

Golf 1:00.887
Nissan 1:00.800
86 GT 1:00.708
Bmw 1:00.736

Also I'm running no areo parts If I can I remove them (like rear areo).
I hope my little feed back helps and I have more cars yet to test ;)

Looks good to me, thanks a lot mate :)

My Team name is based on this! :D
yeah, the famous team

Ok, update.

We'll be using the 80's version of brands

Regarding format, I want to try make it as simple, but fair and fun for people. So this is what I've so far decided. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions, they've all been taken into account.

The top 12 each week will be locked in. The rest will then have a quick 10min race to determine the remaining spots. Those who don't get through will go into a lobby hosted by @yuc2002 and they'll be able to score points there

Top 12 for race 1 will be the top 12 from last season

I thought so :). Just wanted to check anyway as if I'm ever in the races will need to change shifts. I won't be able to make testing this Wednesday & possibly one after.

I think old gttcc chaps should be in the Div1 and new all new comers in Div2.
Good drivers make there way up, bit like moto2 and main motogp if you get my thinking.
I also understand next year is next year, the ps3 comes another year older.
But maybe there be GT7, maybe project cars will be another over rated game that's hits all formats.
It won't shock me if it is really, we all need to look at facts.
We joined here for GT5 and we still here for GT6, plus I think we all be here for GT7.
The worlds round and what been round will come round again.

I do want Rolo to test all cars, he the nutter on standard setting.
But not the man on what cars can be tuned too.

Weight on a car moved into the right place, can in fact make that car be the best.
I think online tuning will never be fair in less your winning then it becomes great.

So I think we can split the races up blue if all take part that is.
True blue I think you need 3 set plans on races formats, but there again you need to take it on the chin and just run it.
As you feel right to do so.

Look at it this way, all members had time to test and moan.
Don't let them players change how you want to run this.

Lets just get it started also pls let me know what car I'll be using :) when I can make race nights :/

having those divisions would be a great idea if we had a few more
The GT7/Pcars, well, we'll just have to see where it goes

I think everything is just about sorted. Format just needs a test, and specs, I've played around with them and in my hands it's only 0.2 difference.

They think it's all over...

It is now.

I'm in shock just sorted the volvo so I could give that a test.
First few laps I was ready to say car should be given back to Ian.

The front tyres never seem to cool done and they just go red on the thouht of a corner, never mind going round it.
Unreal it broke my lap 3 time, that the Volvo round Tsukuba in 1:00.684.
I guess it's going round the bends ok, just wish it felt like it.
Little worried how it well fair out on tyre wear?

omg you really don't want to know what the Citroen done, all I'll say for now is wow
hopefully not much more. To me the citroen goes like the clappers on the straight, but has a lot of understeer
