@True-blue-8 is there any chance that we can get this info earlier as we know the format and calendar? We can always guess ourselves but I'd rather know for certain and in advance so that I can prepare or at least have a plan in mind.

A little off-topic but the guys at Hennessey Performance obviously know what they're doing if they're building a car that will be faster than the Venom GT... :drool:
 
Lesson cancelled lol so spent a few hours looking around. 2 different designs for the estate and pickup/van. Came home and dad had dissembled the sender, closest match was from an Austin, which makes a lot of sense. So that's the right one then. Much appreciated mate, no idea how you found it that quick but massively appreciated :bowdown: :cheers:

Now have a starting point. Only problem £220 for a steel is a bit much. Could at least get a nice alloy one. Hopefully though a decent one for a reasonable price will appear.

You're welcome. I'm just glad that it's the right one.

I kinda narrowed the search down a bit by the location of the filler on your old tank, most British cars have the filler cap on the passenger side. Also when you said 'early 80's' I knew roughly what era to start looking at. The donor car would have almost certainly been pre-1980 as most donor cars are already on the scrapheap. The rest was just time and searching.

Your dad must be chuffed too. :lol:

So here we go. It's been a lot of stress and hard work for the last 3 months but here we are. Race day. I hope everyone is excited.
Everything seems just about right. On paper it looks set to be a great season. Many drivers will battle it out, or at least for 2nd place. I have a feeling EVO will run away with it. Hope not really :(. We'll find out tonight.

Quick overview. If people can check OP and Post 3 in case you have missed anything.

Room will be opened by @sb360 (I will save settings for you mate 👍)
At 5 to, room will be reset and drivers will join the pit lane. Do not enter the track. If you are unsure ask me.
At 5 past is the latest we will start. The 12 minute timer will appear and you can start. Anyone late will need to join before race 1 starts. Please do not leave the room before race 2.

Pens again will be made easy by Pam

I'm going to ask if all instructions issued by myself can be followed. If you are unsure, ask me. Any incidents please do not discuss on the thread. PM me any incidents on GTP please. Even though i'm not in the second lobby, I still expect drivers to contact myself. I don't want to sound naggy but it annoys me when my instructions are ignored and others decide to issue them.

Anyone unable to make it let me know. So far only David is registered as being away.

Looking forward to tonight, if everything goes well then i'll be able to relax. Please run correct # and body colour. If shades are different then that will result in a penalty.

I think that's it. Please watch the driving standards, and the pit lane. Don't go flying into the wall.

For D1 drivers I am intending to open the room around 6:15 - 6:30 to give everyone plenty of time to get in and to give people who might have any connection issues a chance to get things corrected.

Although the room will be open I may well be AFK until a few minutes before 7 as I will need to get some food and things after work.

I'll open D2 room tonight at around 6.45 (assuming no update in the end?) to let people get ready for quali at 7pm. I'll also be eating so won't be chatting til around 6.55, but hopefully everyone will know what to do so I shouldn't need to say much.

Make sure you have the correct specs before quali starts. I'll be spec checking throughout the first quali practice, and if someone has the wrong specs then you'll receive a post-race penalty, so don't do it :)

That's one of the big problems in D2. You have to be sure. In D1 we'll probably call out a problem before the race. But you can do all specs and standards during the race. A lot more stricter :P

remember to reset track e.g all that stuff mate 👍

stewards, please note the convo thread. All info there please. Any individual incidents report them to me privately
