Yer i'll be there.

15 handicapper here ;) to make you jealous i recently bought a scotty cameron :cool: :D

Oh nice, thats pretty good.

I play off around 22 but this is only at par 3 courses that I normally play on! I am not that good yet!

I just bought myself a new set of Wilson Staff Irons at the start of the year so hoping to start playing some larger courses and dropping my handicap soon ;)

Did about 6 or 7 laps in the Clio, best lap time 1:44.4xx. Jumped into the Mini, 3rd hot lap was a 1:43.201. :boggled:

Oh dear, that is very weird because it wasn't apparent at either Laguna, Grand Valley or any of the other tracks that we tested at.

Any idea where the time is being lost?

Not sure yet.

Update ....

Clio 1:43.8xx
Mito 1:43.2xx

Mito wasn't handling as well as I expected, so probably can be made quicker.

That is getting closer, might just be the Clio needs more work to get to those times. I will be on in about 45 mins and will run both pre-race.

Finishing the last race will be a problem for me pam, i have to leave at 9pm which is a pity as i like the slighty longer race.

It's the same for me in GTCC but i dont mind there as i'm not a fan of that final sprint race.

We were running a bit late today. If the schedule runs to time, then you should be okay. :)

Thats a shame Buck, it was good racing with you today! I am hoping to have things running a little faster when we start the season proper. Being done by 9 will hopefully be much more common soon, we had a couple of 10 minute delays tonight, but obviously if you can't make it you can't make it :(

EDIT: As @Ian_83 says in the future we should be finished by 9. We effectively have just over 80 mins of running in 120 minutes if we get things off on time and we don't have any delays. The lobbies are designed to work regardless of people dropping in or out so I think we will just be a little more ruthless with timings in the future.

Overall a bit of a mixed evening tonight, some very close and competitive driving throughout the evening but not as big a field as I would have liked and a couple of incidents which will be investigated. If anyone has any thing they would like investigating please PM Myself or one of the other stewards ASAP.

Do you think i would have won the last race ?? i was looking good for it 👍

I don't know how the tyre strategies played out (other than mine, which was awful!) but you seemed to be keeping the SS alive long enough to keep a half decent gap. It would have been tough finishing on the SMs though with everyone chasing hard!

Also you were doing 47s on SMs, I got a 46.4 in the Clio of death!

It was a decent test session really. It would have been nice if more people could have turned up and raced, but we had fun. Thanks to everyone that showed, it's appreciated. :)

The difference in pace between the cars is a little worrying, but it's getting looked at. The OP specs weren't final and the whole purpose of testing was to see whether or not there were any issues. I'm glad that we've found it now rather than later. 👍

One little point that I'd just like to raise: When a car is behind you drafting on a straight, please don't weave to avoid giving draft to the car behind. One move across the track is fine, but beyond that and it's not really on. I'm guessing that we'll be roughly following the usual OLR guidelines?

OLR
Leading cars have the right to choose their own line down a straight. They can change their racing line once while driving down a straight (Move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). As they approach the next corner, they can return to the racing line of their choice

Congrats to @Doomstorm16 for getting two wins in one evening. You were flying at the end of race 3, I couldn't keep up at all, good drive mate and we had a couple of nice little battles too. 👍

I think that the race format is going to work well. It's simple, easy to host and I think that @sb360 has done a great job so far. I'm looking forward to the first round, it'll be great fun. :)

Pam the Clio was slow for me today, race 3 I was battling a Afla on SM!
Buck was well gone as I battled to pass Doom, how Ian in Q did that lap he set in the clio!
Not even Ian knows that's lol.
I really don't understand the clio problem tonight.
GVE I'm good round there, I wish I knew why but I've always been strong round it.
In the BTCC Honda cup Ian only just won race 1 from me.
Race 2 pack of the pack and bad pit stop killed my race, plus the power pens.
Race 3 was looking like a battle with me and Ian again, But hey I was taking it to easy and hit the wall of death :(

But tonight I showed the FIT fast, Race 1 fastest lap, Race 2 fastest lap :)
Race 3 Clio got know where close to that :(

Testing clio my fastest and only 1 lap at 1110kg a 43.996.
Testing it at 1100kg I just hit a few more laps in the 43.9ss.

Ian is a good guy and he only tell you info he knows is right, this is the 3rd sort of test and Ian saying the clio not good.
Only bad thing is Ian still wins.

Doom I not think pre-test the track? I think a few not pre-test the track also.
I say that as Doom got more stable on track as the racing went on.
Can Doom test RB in the clio??? is it the car is it the track?

Really Pam you did me in Q with my draft in the FIT, But I got a lap in the Mini faster in testing without it.
Also I got a 42.8?? in the fit as fastest lap in race 1, with a little help from Doom draft.
But I also did a 42.93? in the FIT without draft, think that's 1s on anything I can do in the clio really :(

Thanks all for the feedback.

There was definitely a balance issue yesterday and I am going to spend some time testing to make sure that I get it right. I intend to do a small amount of testing at each of the 8 tracks currently on the calendar as well as an extended test session at Trial Mountain as I have always found this to be a good balanced test of a car and its a track I know very well (unlike RBR which I was learning as I was going around yesterday).

The problem is going to be that I could try 10 different tracks and get 10 different results, some tracks are always going to better suit one car over another and because of this its going to be important to get the balance right at the majority of tracks and not make a knee-jerk reaction to a minor (<0.5%) difference at a single track from a single test.

It may be the case that after further testing this problem exists only at Red Bull Ring in which case I would favour not changing the specs of the cars which have worked very well in other tests at other tracks. If this turns out to be the case then we will potentially make a decision about removing the track from the calendar.

It may of course be the opposite scenario that the Clio is well suited to the two tracks that I have so far done extended testing on (Laguna Seca and Grand Valley East) and is likely to struggle everywhere else. I will do further testing on this, post all my relevant times and then a decision will be made on or before Sunday, ahead of the start of the Endurance series on Monday.

Edit to add: Because of the time contraint that means this needs to be sorted before Monday I am only going test the Clio and the Mini, I feel that the Fit and the Mito are very much in line with the pace of the Mini as they are. If time allows I will revisit tracks as a sort-of check but the bulk of my time will be aimed at getting the Clio and the Mini as close as is possible. I also struggle to get the best out of the Mito (as demonstrated when it was a fair chunk faster in the first pre-season test) so it would take up large amounts of my time that are probably unnecessary. This will of course change if I feel that weight adjustments to any other cars are required to bring things into line, if this happens all 4 cars will be thoroughly tested again.

We can't ask for anymore than that. 👍

I'm getting better in the Clio, but that's just how I roll, I learn more about the cars as I race them. I'd be the same if I spent most of my time driving the Mini, I'd get faster, so the gap between the two in terms of performance would still be there.

@sb360 do you use a wheel or pad? Just wondering.

No I didn't have any practice before-hand

Trying the clio now, if anyone wants to join for a bit of testing then feel free.

Cheers mate, we had some good battles. 3 wide up to turn 2 with I think bean was fun 👍

I am golfing now, mid afternoon onwards I will have a lobby open for my testing, anyone else who fancies joining is welcome to.

I not see your room m8?

To be fair Rolo did alot of testing in BTCC with all the cars and all the tracks.
Doing his best to make sure things where as balanced as they could be.

RBR came out and I'm not sure if Rolo pre-tested the track, but when we went there it was a good race.
We also had a honda cup send off race for Rolo and that was at RBR, what saw some old names return to the track.

All the top 8 tracks on the vote where tested apart from reverse tracks, so I can't see there being balance problems down to the track.

Cote d'Azur maybe get Ian to test this one out as he sort of good round it.

I'm sure that @sb360 has also done his fair share of testing. ;) Although it shouldn't take quite as long with only 4 cars and one drive-train to worry about. The big multi-car series (GTTCC/ToCA/BTCC) are hard work when it comes to testing.

Clio: 1.43.7

I feel though that this car has a lot more still to give. Its just that I really cant stand the driving style for this car.
