BL's Scores and Comments

Line - 6
Angle - 6
Control - 7
Total - 19

Seattle: You show a good aggressive feint into and reasonable angle here. I think exit was a bit untidy and a little too tight/premature. If you could've run the car a little farther to the outside of the track this would've been perfect, but you just seemd to run out of steam.

DF: excellent line through middle part of corner at DF, but pulled the exit too tight again. The entry could've been more energetic [style issue, no deductions]. Suitable angle and good throttle control.

Perfect line at Tsukuba and great angle (consistent).... could've relaxed the exit a bit, there was lots of track to work with there.

Line at SSR5 was good, but it didnt attack the second corner as much as i thought you were setting up for [no deduction, just my impression].

ARII - you were doing so good until this clip.... It seems like you struggled at the entry to get the car to rotate, and when it did you countersteered to much (and it consequently ruined your line) Deductions in all three areas.

At AH you have to try and use the track more effectively. take as wide an entrance as you can into the first turn in the esses so you can carry more speed through the section. This will help you link the 2nd and 3rd turns. Deductions on line and angle.

Clearly it's the links that are hurting you. On the first 4 Turns you were great. You do use the throttle well to control your angle, and the results look very smooth in most cases. I think it's your steering work that is letting you down in the links. If you can get that to work for you you'll be in great shape.
oh, and quit chopping off the start and finish of your drifts on certain track cams - it's annoying.
First of all .. Thank you guys for makeing this competion happening ...
I did learn alot :)

Actually I still don't have the techni. to turn my own car yet
so .. I use Start Praticeing with FR Drift Guide 's Sc2000
100% same setting and same parts
I just tune the Gear ration up and down with different tracks to suit the coners I have to Drift ( with Almost full thootle )

but for the last 2 tracks
I've tried so hard and so many times to make my car spin .. but it doesn't seem to do so ..
I can't I can't I can't T_T Been Praticeing almost everyday since the com started .. untill the last min ...

Links are my weakness .. yes .. I feel that too
Spins out most the time ..

I feel that if I Counter steer more then I need in links .. the front wheel will just pull the head of the car our of a drift and become a BANG to the walls

p.s..
and quit chopping off the start and finish of your drifts on certain track cams - it's annoying.
Does this means I cut off too much from the the clips , start and end ?
sorry my english wasn't too good

The first post has been updated with Swift's scores... We are still waiting on GangstaGT's scores from BL and Swift (due to a video link problem)... As soon as these scores are recieved, the totals will be tallied and the winner of the first ever GTPBDC will be posted...

Thank you for your patience...

;)

I must express my thanks for running this comp. Personally its been a great success for me as i have learnt alot more about drifting. Although my apricot drift section was possibly my worst it taught me the most and even helped me tune my car better.

Looking forward to the next one!

I'm glad this was a success... We put this together to help, and it seems it did help some of you...

I must appologise for the delay on posting scores... We've had a few issues to iron out... The next comp will be a bit different... Scores will not be posted until all three judges have finished and submitted scores... Then I will post the results in the first post, with comments regarding technique, execution, etc...

It was Fun fun fun
Thank you all

What's goin on with BL and Swift? Havent they seen my video yet, how can the link not work for them if it worked for DR?

Anyway, i've learned quite a few things since starting this competition. It's kinda forced me to do the drifts i couldn't do before until i did it properly. i hope to learn more after seeing the comments on my vid

I've sent mine in and I believe BL has as well. DR is away for a bit though.

oh, sorry GanstaGT - meant to post this last Tuesday but everytime I tried, I kept timing out. By Wednesday I'd forgotten about it :dunce:

I don't have what I'd initially wanted to post anymore, but here's what I still have left over from my quick jotnotes:

GanstaGT:

drifts at seattle and df should be extended a bit longer.
take wider entry and exit at df.
-1 line, - 1 control

same at tsukuba, drift should be longer -
-.5 control, -.5 angle

SSR5 is not clean. Poor line choice, out of control
- 1 control for wall hit, -0.5 angle, -1 line

ARII - awkward line at exit, should be wider. angle is a bit too shallow through the dual left
-.5 line, -.5 angle

AH - didnt link any turns. 1st 2 drifts start late and were cut off very early
-1 line, -1 control, -0.5 angle

Totals
control 4.5
line 5
angle 5.5
total: 15

What I think you've really gotta focus on is maintaining your drifts on a practical line. Forget about going for big angle for a little bit and think more about where your car should be on the road to allow you to have the longest drift possible. Too often I think the angle in your drift pulled you off of your line [Tsukuba and SSR5], and the whole section suffered [especially SSR5]. Reduce your angle and become familiar with what it means to maintain a drift for the full duration of a corner.

Ok i might be jumping the gun a bit but after some quick mental arithmatic (ok, i used a calculator) it would seem that i am winning. No this has come as a bit of a shock to be honest! Just ask BL how much i picked my video apart before realising that telling a judge whats wrong with my vid is a bad idea!

Thanks for the close runs guys and i cant wait to see your vids.

hey, gays what happend with links of the compaition videos?you said, that you will post the links after the compatition finised..my congragulations to Specialized for his wining:tup: ,i think this compaitition learned all of us a lot of things and maked us better drifters..but we should try harder to climb to the top..keep on practising..keep on drifting!!!👍

looking forward for the next compaitition:)

I'd like to do a round 2. However, I cannot guarantee that I'll be present to help set it up over the next 4 months [job occupying the majority of my time]. I'm not sure about DR's current status, but I know that he's also had to take some time off for real life as well.

shouldn't there be al link to this thread in the "New drifters look here" thread?
It was very useful to me, as a beginning drifter, so propably for others too.

and maybe another competition? I mean it was like a year ago...:P

You should check out the WDS events that I'm running now in this same subforum. The challenge is slightly greater than the BDC, and it does attract stiffer competition, but I think it is still a great opportunity to learn.

Another BDC is unlikely, unless it is run by different people. My PS2 is on the fritz, and DR hasn't been around for quite some time.

I'm still around. I'm just in need of a new PS2. When I get one, I will be willing to get back to work with you guys on the BDC series. Oh, and I'm a wheel user now...

;)

That's a VERY scary thought, DR. It's good to see you on the boards again mang!:)
