GTP Beginners Competition - Round 1

if you'd read the thread...
me
We were really just hoping you guys would be decent enough folk that we could go by the honour system.

and...

DR
Ok, if you guys want to take a vid of the garage screen, to prove the pwr/weight ratio (which is really easy to find), that's your choice... Although, it is not required... The honour system was our original intent...

....I really cannot believe the difficulty people are having with this. It is NOT a hard idea to grasp.

Im using a car with a PWR of 3.595.

It has 322 HP on N2's... so theres plenty of power there. i couldn't be bothered drifting stock ;).

Completed sections 1-4 so far.

i m ok with the rules and everything but i have a question..can i make the video with windows video maker or i have to buy a capture devise;

maybe i'm not understanding you.... by all means you may use windows movie maker - but it won't do much good if you don't have a capture card or camcorder to get your footage onto your computer in the first place.....

Video uploaded, PM sent.

I've used car with 4.503 ratio.

1. Seattle - some runs
2. Deep Forest - few runs
3. Tsukuba - on the first run
4. Special Stage Route 5 – few runs
5. Autumn Ring Reverse - two runs
6. Apricot Hill - few runs

Total time spent: 1h or so

You need some kind of video capture to participate.

Delphic Reason
You don't need a capture card... We will accept camcorder recordings, as well...

;)

Well...that's a type of video capture. :sly:

Indeed, but we're not here to confuse anyone...

Capture cards, Camcorders, and even Webcams (although, definitely not ideal) will be acceptable ways to get your video onto your computer...

How is everyone doing?...

Im getting there. Just got my capture card for my laptop so making that work smoothly seems to be my biggest hurdle at the moment

As for the drifting i think i got the seattle one nailed although i think i can get a little tighter on the exit. Also i just changed my lsd, stabilizers and gearing settings on my car so although they are for the better im still having to acustom myself with the different gearing.

Yeah, im going alright... I have completed all the sections, but im re-doing them seeing if i can get a cleaner run out of any of them...

Final adjustments to the suspension are being made.

well, thanks to some ballast i got around the last turn on tskuaba easily.
now off to do the others. and thanks to tank for helping me figure out how much and where to put it.

many digital cameras take video as well and should be able to capture long enough to get those turns in. good luck everyone!

Nice demonstrations DR and BL

can you use a cameras to upload the picture to here????Casue i cant buy those special storges things

Right me thinks your getting mixed up. This is a competition where VIDEO is judged. Some digital cameras can record VIDEO as well as photos. TRi was just pointing that out. So if you have a digital camera which records VIDEO then yes you can enter this so long as the VIDEO is watchable.

Spec....

oh ok thanks....witch drifting competition are you have to use pictures??And can you use a camera to upload the picture or no???

As far as i know there are none. However this thread should be kept on topic so if you have any more questions please feel free to pm me.

On topic. Tskuba is turning out to be a little bit of a pain. I think im going to have to start messing about with weights!

yes just pointing out that many digital cameras also RECORD VIDEO that you can upload. There is a seperate DPC Drift Photo Competition in this very section(gt4 drifting, not this post.)
