Not a huge car nut like a lot of posters around here... but is there a single Shelby car that isn't at least cool?

I think this is a neat car, and is one that any car enthusiast would respect if they see, and a regular person would just see it as a cool old Mustang. The GT350 would be subzero, but this only gets a cool, albeit a very high cool.

^^^I actually never knew that existed. What the hell is under the hood?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

What did they do it then besides some stickers...

The car that took Shelby from racing to marketing. Still cool, but it sure as hell is not cool like a GT350R or Cobra.

Small blocks hitting 8,000rpm+ ftw.

Altough awesome video, your comparison is moot. There were GT3350 street cars, and there were GT500 race cars. Comparing a street car against a race car is absolutely off.

No, my point is not mute. This is a subjective comparison, and I'm merely comparing a Shelby I think is "sub-zero" (GT350R) to one that barely gimps out of "meh" because the GT500 was the point at which Shelby become more concerned with image and marketing [and money] than racing. Also, I'm not really aware of any serious competition history of the GT500, I have always perceived it as purely a street car.

GT500 intended usage and sound:
*snip - driving on the street

This. So much this. I'd rather have a GT350 any day. Just like I'd rather have a first-generation Camaro Z/28 instead of an SS, or an AAR 'Cuda instead of a Hemi (thank you GT6!).

I'd love just one of them to buy a Mercury Cougar instead, but noooooo.

Yes. A kid I went to high school with drove a Grabber Blue '68 Cougar. I would have taken that car over a Mustang any day.
