Odd selection of cars they sold under the "brand" though. MX-5s (Eunos Roadster), MX-3s (Eunos Presso/30X), Xedos 6 (Eunos 500), Xedos 9/Millennia (Eunos 800), Eunos Cosmo (errr)... Not exactly a common theme there.
Sports and luxury theme? Or even just bunching them all together to separate them from the more standard, less exciting 121/323/626 etc.
Agreed with the earlier point though. Apart from a brief spell in the late 90s when apart from the MX-5 the range was pretty dull, Mazda have more often than not made interesting cars. The early to mid 90s MX-5, MX-3, MX-6, 323 and Xedos models (even the 626 from that period), all sold around the same time... what a range! Very rarely has a manufacturer made so many great looking cars at once. And the modern range is pretty good too. And as you mentioned, all pretty affordable too.
