We are raceing online most days from around noon Eastern Standard time ill our wives start yelling "Your dinner, is gettting cold." Send me a freinds request and I message you if I see you on when we are racing.

@mots63 . Thanks mots I do like the Gordini maybe we should add it to the one make race's also.

We ran some of the cars Old Geezer suggested and a few others today. We looked for ones that were fun to drive and ran well with no tuning or added parts. Here are some we found provided some pretty close racing. You may want to add all or some of these to your garage if you would like to run some one make race's as well as the regular pp limit race's.
We did change the oil and had no tire restrictions although we ended up using sport softs on most cars.

Ferrari Dino 246 GT '71 -
Ferrari 512 BB '76 -
Renault Sport Clio V6 Trophy 24V '00 -
Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) Race car '95 -
Honda Fit RS '10 -
Jaguar E Type Coupe '61 -
Shelby Datona Coupe '64 or Shelby Datona Coupe 15th Anniversary and the Ferrari 250 GTO '62 all run almost identical lap times and handles much the same. If any has the 250 GTO it runs well with the Shelby Datona.
Alpine A110 1600S '72 or Alipine A110 1600S 15th Anniversary

Some of the cars we use for one make race's with tuning allowed around 540pp plus or minus.

Toyota TSO30 Hybrid '12.
Ayrton Senna WRS '83
Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 '85.

Don't forget to clear your cache.

I have most of Your list and I will buy Peugeot 205 Turbo and those Minis and 86 race car. Then I have in garage Honda
Type R Touring car and one could be also that old Civic race car , somebody was driving it some days ago.
Because many of us using green surface sometimes should we try white (snow) sometimes?

When we were yesterday talking about penalties, do You know if You have it on , is similar as in time trials. And my opinion
is that has nothing to do car racing sometimes slight touch will give penalties and some cutting also. I think that all of us geezers are adult enough to behave as we should. If I do something I hope that it would be commented, but I will be polite to those who are playing fair play , if somebody pushes me I'll push back. But I'm on fair play.

A few that I can think of that have been used for great close racing through GT5-6.

Renault Sport Clio V6 Trophy 24V '00, 115,000.
Renault Sport Lutecia R.S Trophy V6 24V '00. 115,000.
Renault Sport Megane Trophy ( & Base Model ) '11. 100,000.
Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) Race Car '95. 114,500.
Honda Integra Type R Touring Car 75,000.
Honda Integra Type R (DC5) Touring Car '04. 117,500.

I have all these cars, and I agree with Wauk, we should race cars with equal sthength. Note mix race cars with street cars. It make for more interesting races. Anyway that is what I think, but I will race anywhichway but loose.

I intend to use 79 as my number. I was 179 in my youth when I raced motorcycles in New England scrambles circuit in the early 60's.
Just to be included and on record my fellow Geezers,, my number on all my cars has been "47" since I started online racing March 2012. Recognizing there are,, or will be others born in '47, hopefully my number won't cause an issue if someone has the same. However, because I'm only a fantasy racer my number isn't set in stone and am perfectly willing to choose a different number -- if need be.

I did see many of you 'ol gents log in today, but with the terrible connection issues many of the folks on my friends list had trying everything they knew to get the lobby's to show,, the few times (twice in many, many attempts) I did see the group of lobbys but could not find you. Dunno what the heck happened with the servers today but my guess is the huge V1.10 update download (2115mb) we patiently waited over an hour for this morning,, and the number of folks going through the update caused most if not all of the trouble. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I can find Waukazoo's room.

Had a lot of fun this afternoon, even if for only a few hours. 👍 The new hot ticket is a Nissan GT-R GT500 base model, bone stock except for oil change. Definitely a must have car. Another would be a GT300 base model. Slap some paint & your race number of choice on them & we'll see you on track. :)
Yeppers,, that car in default tune is still a super sweet hotrod to drive and at 513hp (if memory serves) I believe is still plenty fast. Another hotrod a group of folks I race with is the HSV-10 in default tune with RS tires.

I agree OldBoy that mixing cars may be interesting but with only one thing I'd mention - race cars have down force :scared:which of course will give them a HUGE advantage over street . Surely we can find a work around if we need to but I'm thinking we're looking for ways to pick up the pace of racing rather than investing 20 / 30 minutes before a race fiddling with a tune. The one make, default racing is a GR8 way  to get the races underway asap. As the kids say - "jus say'n" :sly:

Spent the morning setting up a new router reseting the set top boxes for the tv's, entering ridiculously long WPA2 pass words for the phones tablets and computer. Then ran cat5e wire to the ps3. I couldn't wait to get online open a room and race. What? A huge update and hot fix and a lobby no one could populate. :banghead:
Eventually I was able to open a room and only 2 were able to get in.
So we ran some laps tring out some new rides for one make races.

Better luck tomorrow. See ya then.

edit: Is number 52 taken? I'll go with that if it's available.

Re: the Aston Martin DP-100 Seasonal. Ohh yeah!! I learned something running this son uva gun this morning:idea:. Yesterday,, after at least 20 or 30 laps I gave up and had settled for 25th place (25000th or so on world list) on my friends list with a 48.980 lap :banghead:. I hated being that far down the list :grumpy: and frankly it bugged hell out of me :irked:. This morning I simply hadda try again. I'm sharing this because many to most of we 'ol fellers (and perhaps gals?) have tried this seasonal and the car just wouldn't perform driving it like we usually drive,, wind 'er up to max rpm then shift. What I learned this morning,, if I shift at 7000 rpm and hit the corners S L O Wer than I had been, up shift early and exit the apex under full power that sumbish WILL RUN!! Picked up my spot on my friends list to 3rd (1044th in world rank) with a 47.236. Honestly GEEZERS,, this post isn't intended to sound as if I'm bragging guys, if we've ever played together in Waukazoo's room I'm hoping you know that's not my style. I'm only sharing what I learned just in case you may be interested. Hope this tidbit is useful and taken in the right spirit .
Good luck and DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!! :) 👍 :gtpflag:

Love the picture!
Do you host as a fixed host?

When I host that is the option I choose as it uses the host's connection as a proxy vs peer to peer. There seems to be less issues if the host has the bandwidth. The downside is the room evaporates if the host leaves or is disconnected.

Hope to gather for some fun races today partner. By the by, they (PSN) found whatever the issues we experienced yesterday, had us install a short download this morning and WAHLAH!! the lobbys are again in service. Yippee!!:gtpflag:

@waukazoo I use an app called Lastpass to hold & generate all my passwords. There is a small annual subscription fee for mobile support. It works with Dolphin browser on android & most if not all PC browsers. It has a stand alone browser as well. There may be Apple support, not sure as I have zero Apple devices.

Hi Geezer's!

The last time I checked in on you guys it was June 17th, Page 2 of this thread.

Thanks for the suggestion SSClockDr. I'll try fixed. I'm hoping the new router and wired connection help. Today seemed a much better connection.

@PapaGnr Great shots of todays action. Thanks for posting them.

Wish I could have made it this afternoon, that looked like a lot of fun... I was busy doing some bodywork on the wife's car, only rust, not damage.

Its a good job you didn't make a typing error or it could have ended up like this

SSClockDr. Was able to host a room last night. We got to talk about the benefits and drawbacks of different room settings and how they affect the room as a whole and the races we run. We swapped ideas for different types of race's we could try, and did a little more testing with a car we haven't used yet as a one make. 👍

Afterwords we setteled in doing what we all like to do most. Enjoying some good door to door racing. Thanks for hosting Doc, it was great getting to talk with you and spending some track time with you. I'm looking forward to doing it again soon.
