Hi Geezers, sorry to have missed the meeting the other evening looked good fun, how will I know when the next one occurs as I’m not on 24/7?

Been having thoughts re updating ancient Logitech wheel for the G27 which will certainly make me poorer but will it make me any faster, after all a wheel is a wheel is it not? Or will it cure me of overdriving corners?

Lastly, on the theme of going faster, I have come to the conclusion that I have a slower PS3 then you fast guys :dunce: ..... (no comments about poor workman and tools thank you) ;) and therefore no amount of new seats or wheels will make a scrap of difference. Just need more practice. 👍

Sounds like fun. My ID has my birth year - Daduce1947 - makes me just 7 years over the minimum age eh ? 👍 I really do enjoy GT6, as I have all the Gran Turismo games since I bought a used First Edition (created for the PS1) in 2001. As most of you, I'm hooked and am ready to spring for the PS4 as soon as GT7 is on on the market. Please add me to your Friends List if you read this and I'll watch for those of you I've seen on this message string.
"Drive it DEEP and Drive it FAST" :gtpflag:

Enjoyed meeting, racing with you and learning of this Geezer Group yesterday Waukazoo. Will be watching for you when I'm online. Best regards, Daduce1947.

Yesterday evening my son rang me, " What have you been doing today dad? pottering in the garden, having a snooze, watched TV?. No son I replied,

"I have been racing cars in London, Monte Carlo, Madrid and other places and exchanging friendly chat with other pensioners from around the world".

"What have you been doing son?", I asked "Been to work " was the sullen reply, "that's nice" I said.

There's life in the old geezer yet

Thanks to all who took part yesterday...a good time was had...
I really liked this post Golf98. I'm with you in saying there really is life left in we OLD GEEZERS after all!!

I'll have a Geezer room open a little early today about 12 noon est. for car tuning and testing, tips, ideas and practice.
Racing stating about 1pm est, 6pm bst.
Looking forward to seeing everyone for some fun racing.

Please remember me in 5 years, as I'd really like to become a card carrying member. I think, in the meantime, I'll just set up an event in my Google calender. I mean it's five years right? It's not like forever-right?

💡 :gtpflag:
The closer you get to Geezer status the faster a year goes by, we'll leave the light on for you. :)

To add geezer1791 ~ once a guy (or gal) slips past GEEZER status,, time slips faster and faster and faster through our fingers. It's hard to keep track . I and my Wife's salvation is the Sunday paper. When I go out each morning @ 0500 to pick it up, and it's larger than usual ~ ~ I know it's Sunday and we've survived yet another week.. 👍

Thanks Waukazoo for opening and moderating these morning rooms bud. We had alot of fun this morning working on different cars and tire combinations and driving some really super races. Some of you guys were blistering fast,, and some of us weren't,, but one of these days with enough practice,, I too will learn to deal with and handle my cars on SS and SI tires:banghead:. Until then I'll muddle through BUT until I can handle them, and when I end up sitting near the front ~ I'm gonna slip to the left or right on START, get out of the way and let you fast guys through:). Then I can try to keep my car on the track without feeling the pressure:eek: and see just how close I can run to the fastest lap. I'll still collect a few shackles, hopefully get better and have a blast hang'n with the Geezer Bunch! 👍👍

This is awesome.
When i was in the Gta San Andreas scene, i was one of the oldest.
Now? i'm a puppy, and happy, i will never stop with this stuff.
45yrs old, thats what i said before. Now i say no, we are all young, we live and enjoy our things we do.

Awesome, really awesome.Wow. I loved reading some of these posts.Great topic.

The Audi design team may take exception to this but Geezer1791 is just taking full advantage of the AERO kit offered on the Quattro.

Guys? or Geezers, i look at some screens from your races.
I see you all racing with Scirocco's, then racing oldschool 205 rally road cars
then everyone diffrent cars but not so obvious cars.
And last the Audi quattro rally car.
There is lot of nostalgia i feel and see.
I cant explain the feeling, but it makes me smile, i don't have time or much time to do this online.
But when the time comes that i have time, i hope i can enjoy this type of racing also.

1,5 yrs ago i started with GT5, my son had a ps3 with gt5, got a crash and lost his savegame.
I helped him to build his savegame back up to his level and got hooked.
few weeks later i had to buy a ps3 with GT5 or i would get into trouble with my son.
one year ago, i looked at youtube and noticed that most uploaders, just record the fastest replay.
No settings, no bloopers, only the perfect race.
I reopened my youtube channel, ordered a capture device, and started to record races for beginners.
How to get started, how to earn credits, what track and what car to use.
How to beat the game, the easy way and getting better at it.
I love it, and now i'm member of this forum, i'm loving it more.

It's nice here.
Thank you all.

Geezer, Wauk & myself had some fun races Sunday night. :) The best was at High Speed Ring, with less than half a second between us at the finish. Geezer won by a car length. :gtpflag:View attachment 186090
Had a great time this weekend chasing Geezers, knocking down walls and cutting grass, all online. Thanks to Wauk for hosting rooms daily, we need to see more Geezers online. The caption for the first picture should read "Geezer1791 tries to make a clean pass" and the second picture proves anyone can win.

I'm no expert, but if your headset is wired with a usb plug then plug in the usb cord in the front of your ps3 then go to settings (2nd row far left) then scroll down to accessory settings then select audio device and then highlight the input and output to your headset, if it's bluetooth wireless then turn it on and do the same steps. I asked my grandson for one of his old ones and he gave me a bluetooth model.
I'm sure someone can be more helpful than this, please be sure to come back to play with us online.👍

After much wandering, I think I may have found the place I belong. I've been playing since GT1. When GT5 came out, I gave online a go. It was quite exciting, but often included too much bashing, crashing and other behavior that was, well, a bit too childish. I realized I needed to join a league. And I found a great group of guys.

We had a blast for a couple of years. I never won a darn thing, but being on track and competing with friends was more fun than I ever could imagine. Even if they were all, for the most part, much younger and quicker than I. Unfortunately, the group was a bit disappointed in GT6 and slowly disbanded.

I would very much like to join this bunch of geezers on track. There is, however, one small issue. I am still a mere babe at 59 years, 6 months. If I must wait until next January, I will, but as this group should know, time is the most precious of all things.

I would, at least, like to send some friend requests, so I might compare some times and stare at some more blue squiggly lines that I can't catch.

If you need squiggly lines, send fr, we can provide lots of squiggly lines. Right now the minimum age is 60, but that does not mean you are not welcome in a Geezer online room. There are usually plenty of slots available and I am always looking for company at the back of the pack.:D
