Results up. Well done zoxxy, and to our new points leader, oxigen_gsr đź‘Ť . Its still close at the top though..

A little experimentation with a few Miata's has shown a clear cut favourite so far.

There is one more model that I need to find and try out though.

sir heavy foot - through computer problems - could only submit his time on wednesday. Hence his time will be allowed and he will awarded 4 pnts for late entry đź‘Ť

The overall standings have been updated to reflect this.

Well, Autumn Ring frustrates a little. I've left about 4-5 tenths on the track this time, as the six months away from GT2 is showing just a little. Fantastic car/track combination though.

Time submitted.

Grindewald?:odd:

Jeez, your really trying to kill me here aren't you? What's next 60's and 70's cars under 300hp at Red Rock Reverse? :banghead:

Well, at least your getting the tracks I really suck at out of the way.

Heh. Thanks ;)

*makes mental note*

No, seriously. Some really fast times all the way down the leaderboard. I picked the C-Spec for some reason and it blew chunks. I know I will be competitive at the Wald tho :D

Incidentally I am reworking the points that will be taken into the final. The current system penalises the chaps who consistently make the podium (and lower) but dont get that 1st or 2nd.

Most likely all points earned will be taken to the final, but I will confirm this at a later date.

Holy crap, Fogel? Well, I could see a 1:12.5 for me, but your time is very impressive. Mind sharing your set up?

something tells me i chose the wrong MX5

I'm very happy with my time at least, i **** you not, that lap was 100%, of all the ones before it that one was quicker in all but one section and even that was only 0.00something out. curse you people whith more power :P

this is why i suggest more single car races. it's all well and good to know about cars that are quick as, but it is really annoying to think that the competition is a "who knows which car is fastest" rather than "who can drive the fastest". sure, you win some you lose some, but damn. to be beaten because your car is inferior. that sucks as you'd know mike. (re: spoon civic)

Started testing the Lancia S4 at Grindewald. The car is pretty quick, but I've found the back end to actually be quicker then the front in many corners.

I doubt that the Citreon has a chance against this Lancia, though I've yet to really give it a go. At what point do you wish us to commit to one car or the other?

the citroen does have the higher power to weight ratio. not sure about handling, i'm stuck with the citroen now. btw, you get my time mike? i can send it again if you're being picky about entries still being closed when i entered it.

Admittedly, the first time I've ever put Traction Control on any GT2 car. While the setting was at its lowest, it did reduce the wheel spin in the two corners where it is needed, but didn't retard the performance.

Partially edited for stupidity.

I'll be going with the Citroen.

Now, I just pulled a miracle lap. In the last sector, I managed to get the car completely out of shape in the "Bus Stop" complex, (quick left right before heading out to the "straight"). I don't know why, but I didn't lift, and the car made it through full throttle, and I made it through the final sector some 6/10ths faster then I had before.

Shame I had a tap of the guardrail during a slight fishtail coming out of the corner at the end of the long back straight.

BTW Mike... note on the spelling of Fogelhund. You've got it wrong on all of the results.

Doh! Sorry ;)

At what point do you wish us to commit to one car or the other?

When you submit your time, you can let me know of your choice then.

btw, you get my time mike

Yup, no probs with the early submission đź‘Ť

the citroen does have the higher power to weight ratio. not sure about handling,

On the 6 laps i did have time to put in on this car, I had trouble trail braking without using the handbrake :grumpy: Very grippy indeed.

Well, time submitted for the week.

Suffice to say, it was a very good lap, one of my best laps of all time maybe.

I have the save available, if anyone has a dex drive and wishes to see it, after the event is over.

Best of Luck to everyone else.

BTW, I used the Citreon.

I managed to slice 3.2 seconds of my original time in the space of 6 laps yesterday. Amazing how a minor adjustment to the suspension can make such a difference.

Round 5 is up đź‘Ť

Results up. Well done to Fogel on that blaster of a time đź‘Ť and to the other two competitors who have persisted and are sitting pretty on the points table for the finals.

oxigen, comparing sector times, you waxed me by 1.1 secs in the first sector, but I made it all up in the remaining 3 ;)

Well a few laps at Laguna Seca. I can tell this is going to take more tuning then I normally do for a car. The track is quite different then most, and requires vastly different settings for some cars, then other tracks do.

Funny enough, my most difficult areas right now are getting the braking right in the first turn, and the last left sweeper before you get to the corkscrew. The car is having some problems turning in that corner.

A neat trick in the first corner? I know that you can ride the outside guardrail and make up a great deal of time. Is that what you did? I prefer to not submit times with any touches, or excursions where more then two wheels are touching the grass/gravel....

Word.

The Corkscrew is proving my downfall. In the Cusco the car stays road bound but loses its ability to turn into the apex - unless one brakes too early. The RX7 likes to get airborne just over the crest of the hill, leading to encounters with the arnco. :grumpy:
