Alright now this picture is odd. Screen tearing affects the entire horizontal line of the screen, as screens are refreshed vertically one line at a time. Screen tearing as blatant as the one on this wiper would noticeably change the side of the car and the background on the track too... but it doesn't. This leads me to believe one of two things. 1. The wipers have an odd animation glitch, or 2. The camera recording the video simply couldn't keep up with the fast speed of the wipers causing inconsistencies in the video. Either way, it's not your regular screen tearing.

People often say screen tearing in a game gets really bad when your view turns, but really it's tearing the same amount all the time, it's just a lot more noticable on things moving horizontally across the screen, like wipers. The background buildings will be a tiny bit closer in the bottom half of the screen, but with that picture quality it's not going to be noticable.

Yeah that's what happens to me, it's only when I turn, like if i move back and forth the car will tear, if I take a corner normally and its not fast movement it wont. but its when I pass something fast, or it's fast rendering, like uncharted 2, during the waterfall areas and if I look up and down its not bad, but when I have to load a lot more and look quickly to the left and right it'll tear in the middle. I have a video that I made of gran turismo 5 Prologue doing wierd bleeding I tried all settings on my TV, and it did this on 2 TV's and 2 PS3's. I wonder if any of you get this.

Anyways, yeah... I dunno. I hope it doesn't split, I mean I only get slightly irritated with it, if it were any worse I wouldn't play it, but its tolerable.

Edit, I'll try to make another video showing the quick tearing/splitting in just a second here, rather than the jagged edges.

I think the book might be showing examples of random generated tracks and describing how they are created. There appear to be graphs next to each track layout.

So when will this Amar guy start streaming GT5 gameplay live to Ustream or Justin.TV ?

It's amazing that of all the hundreds of thousands of copies of GT5 that have been pressed, only one dude in Croatia is actually sharing any details. There's got to be others out there with it in hand.

Maybe these are examples for the track creator parameters.
so that when you use specific values you create a real-life track.

not with all the surrounding buildings and so, but the pure track layout matching the real track

this dude (amar) is a legend. He's a genuine insider..

To be honest I think it depends on the game. If you're looking at an impressive view with a lot of buildings and the camera is still, the game isn't rendering anything at all, so the performance is fine and the screen won't tear. Then when you start to move the camera, the game is suddenly required to load a bunch of new buildings which works the CPU overtime and causes the performance to drop and thus the tearing begins.

If it is tearing non-stop in a game then there must be a lot of detail constantly being rendered all the time, which... may be the case with Gran Turismo considering how good it looks.

My god Im so bored... borat...

Do you think the ability to change wheels on standard cars is unlocked at a later stage to the game like everything else mentioned in the spoilers??

I have question for either for anyone who happens to know this. Ok, I'm a Viper fan, in GT2 the Oreca Viper was in GT1 class with a read white and blue livery and cranked out about 690hp. In GT3 on the Oreca Viper was GT2 class with a red and white stripe livery and crankd out only 580hp. Accoding to the car list they are both supposed to be there. can anyone with the game confirm that they borh are there as well as there specs, assuming they arent used cars only and ungodly difficult to find.

I Beg of you to answer this question please. Can convertibles (S2000, Miatas, etc.) be driven with the top down?

Thanks for all the work you are doing for us.. but about this below:

Are you sure? I stiffened up the springs in my G25 brake and throttle pedals a little, but even stock they are very good.

Are you sure it's the pedals that aren't up to the task? You don't think that with more practice you could control the brakes sufficiently with a G25 pedal set and that only better pedals than the G25's will allow you to brake consistently without ABS switched on? Really?

You could just get the Nixim mod which is very cheap. I'm using this mod and have a set of CSP as well (use with G27 on PC) and can tell you it works and feels very close to the load cell in CSP. This mod is nothing but a hard piece of rubber you put inside your brake pedal.

P.S you can use the carpet grip with this mod as long as you don't press the brakes too hard. If Gt5 brakes are sensitive then this shouldn't be much of a problem.
