You can hop onto Netflix if you have it and watch something while it installs.

No you can't. When a disc based game installs it's initial data, you can't exit out of it until it's finished. If you have Netflix on your computer or Xbox you could, but you'll have to let your system install the game.

I think 6.4GB is the largest initial install of any game.

Oh yeah forgot about that:ouch:...man it's been awhile since I last used my PS3.

He doesn't seem to mention anything about the new damage system. Though likely he drives such a clean race that he doesnt notice :P

Install is optional right? Yeah, looks like I'll be skipping that until I get a bigger HDD.

You have one week for new HDD. Do it before you play GT5 for a long time then you realize you need to get new HDD and loose all your saved data.

Since GT5 has trophies, I doubt you can share and save Data on USB drive..

I could be wrong.

Do it now before you have to in the future. Very simple stuff.

Well...Looks like I have some shopping to do for black friday.

Question...is the clutch basically on/off when you step on it or is it realistic?

I also want to know about this. Will the pedal pressure affect the clutch or will it just engage/disengage at a set point

I'll prolly play GTPSP while I wait for the install and rack up some credits before transferring the data.

about damage, i just want to play gran turismo i dont really really care about damage but what do you have to say about the mechanical damage

i care for little details such as clutch i would really like to know if u can use clutch with the controller

It's so delightful to hear about acquiring licenses! I can't wait for it to come =)
Thank you very much for the detailed info, Amar!

This was answered a few times in this thread. It works like GT5P did. It is engaged or disengaged. No in between as the game doesn't "officially" support clutch.

Since the clutch is not "officially" supported, "Clutch" is not in the button mapping options if its like GT5P as described. And you wouldn't really have a button for it anyway, they're all being used.

That's TERRIBLE! So much for "the real driving simulator"....I'm sure they'll release a patch or something in the future. We all need to make sure we make a big deal out of this for it to happen...

GTPSP we already know you can if you watched the "menu" video.

What about GT5 Prologue. Could you transfer the cars into Arcade mode as well...?
Sorry if it's been asked and answered already.
If not, will there be cars in arcade mode that you could race immediately with?

amar212, thanks for your detailed info.
btw, don't you want to try and change the date on your PS3 to the 26th of November?
If it's true that something is locked, maybe this change will trigger something to be unlocked within the game.
just a thought..
thanks.

What no hood cam that sucks i really liked playing in that view.Well i hope there is something close to hood view.Im counting down the seconds for this release.

I think so too. MGS4 took up about 6GB on the hdd.

I KNOW 10GB is the largest install for a console game. There are PC games that are 2-10 times that large, but, it's definitely the largest console game install.

@cholvak. I don't think that would work. You can change your system's date, but that won't fool the internet where such an update would be downloaded from.
