Tom
Sad thing is that every other week I'm at my dads where my PS3 isn't. :grumpy:

Well just make the races every other week then, there's nothing you can do about that I suppose 👍

Neljack has signed up as the 3rd driver for KV Race Tech and will be able to make the races every week which is a plus 👍

No worries 👍

One small concern I have is though is with the heavy damage on isnt likely to affect the racing? One minor accidental lapse in concentration in a braking zone behind someone and you both get punished.

We had it in Furi's WSM, possibly my least favourite GTP experience ever

Big fan of Heavy Damage myself, I mean you make a mistake, you should be adequately punished. I just hate it if lag caused it that is all.

The heavy damage does make everybody race cleanly and with a bit more respect for each other as they know one hit could cause problems. But the cautions make sure big accidents don't ruin people's races and penalties are routinely handed out for causing incidents that result in damage 👍

Fair enough guys, gotcha :)👍

Okay Tom mate 👍

What FGT's do you have Brendan?

EDIT: Also if anybody has any pictures from any of the 'Speedweeks' events we had, please send them to me. Need them for the GT Life article.

EDIT 2: Also, why do people make a habit of enquiring about signing up for something and then immediately log out so I can't discuss it with them? :grumpy:

I have green and white why but getting blue and white can I use that

brendanadams01
I'll use blue and white

Awesome, add me on PSN, Tom_97_COD

I'll add you to the OP when i'm at a PC. We've got a test on Friday, check the first post for more info 👍

Not been able to get near Pagey's 1:51.4 so far. I've managed a high 1:53 currently. I'm sure I managed a mid/high 1:52 in qualifying for the pre-season last time, so I need to rediscover my old pace. Once I do, the difference in regulations should make up the rest (mostly the removal of the transmission regulations).

EDIT: Found what I think the problem is. Somepoint mid-season I had messed around with my setup and never changed it back, so my road course setup was wrong from the mid-season onwards. I've found the original setup and should be back up to speed.

EDIT 2: Nope, I'm still 2 seconds slower than him.

This season is going to be very very close; we've got some great road course drivers (Nel, Joe, Pagey), some awesome oval drivers (Knelly and Smuffy come to mind) along with some good all rounders such as Cowboys, Matty and myself. Also a couple of unknown quantities in Indywolf, Dragon and the other rookies.

This is gonna be brilliant 👍

Thanks for calling me an all rounder, but I think you'll find I'm either terrible, or plain unlucky when it comes to ovals.. I haven't come to a decision on that yet as I'm 50/50.

You might not be racing? :embarrassed: :nervous:

No I'm 50/50 on weather I'm any good at ovals or just really unlucky..

I'm 100% racing this series :D

Don't read too much into that time I set, I'm good at time trials in the FGT but when it comes to the actual race I'm inconsistent and my car regularly feels the need to occupy the sand traps for a while, probably to reminisce on the trip it once took to the beach back in '04.......and there are other times where it wants to take an unplanned excursion onto the grass (his dad was a lawnmower)

I've told him time and time again he isn't to do it when we are racing, he doesn't listen

You'll see pretty quickly Pagey that even if you make early mistakes as long as you stay on the lead lap you should be fine, because if/when a caution comes out the field will completely bunch up again 👍

Just to reiterate guys, I'll be showing you all the new standing start procedure this Friday between sessions.

Ahhh yeah I forgot about cautions, it may take a while for me to remember all the stuff about pace laps and cautions 'n ting.

As long as you have a vague idea you'll be golden, the safety car driver and I regularly make announcements and tell everybody what to do during yellow flag periods.

On that note gents, Brett says he may be able to do the first couple of races of the season before his new job begins (he's pretty certain of getting it, will be sure by Friday). After that Rich will take over as safety car driver in his yet to be disclosed 'beast'

Don't hold your breathe about them, because it's very easy to remember once you have Tom, Joe and Knelly instructing us on them when they happen.

Yeah I should be okay, although at that time on a Friday night my body is usually preparing for the onslought of jagabombs, my mind might not be able to compute the regulations of an Indycar race.

So what's the deal with Friday, a time trial run around to familiarize ourselves?

Practice and some short races I believe. But what we most definitely don't want is a repeat of last years opener at Indianapolis, over 10 cautions and two permanent bans from the series. And most memorably me leading from the last caution and thinking there was another lap staying at a slow pace and coming 4th. :grumpy:

Yep, to let the new drivers get used to dealing with traffic and driving the car. It's like the pre-season F1 testing, go out and set laps when you want, sit in the pits when you don't 👍

EDIT: Matty we'll be fine I think, couple of weeks before the season opener anyway. We've got Spa and Monza to go first, by then everybody should be settled in and ready to go.

And a few short races?

Pretty please, if there is I'll bring cake as a incentive..
