5 or 6, 11 started

think im going to make a new series, based around LMPs of course. But start from the ground up, new rules, new regs, ect ect

Drop the HP to 550hp or something. Tire wear is too high for LMP's with a lot of power. ALMS series LMP2 cars are 485hp 950kg, last 9-10 laps on softs. Or you can just turn off tire wear and mandate pit stops and force people to use mediums and softs.

Please don't turn off tire wear.

As well I don't think the tires wear bad if you use soft front and medium rear. I've run it on Medium front and hard rear as well. Those were the tire strategy I used at Daytona to save a stop over everyone else. Take out the wreck at the end and it was the best strategy.

They go like 1 hour in real life le mans before pitting >.>
I understand why they updated tire wear so that hard tires could last longer then softs (which wasnt the case pre-2.02) but the fact is, unless NASCAR, soft tires are still the best option so PD has to do SOMETHING with tire wear

Running 1.33 @ monza which prolly sucks >.>

You can get away with it at Daytona, there's few turns. But other tracks are twisty, and medium tires provide too little grip. The HP on these cars is what kills the tires. If it was around 550hp with the downforce they have and the weight, the soft tires would last almost twice as long. I did some testing today, and could do 10 laps at Laguna on softs with around 540hp 900kg in the Toyota. I tried the Bentley and it's better on tires. If it had some ballast it would be equal, but not as fast. The tire wear is bad though. Real bad. The soft tires are the only one's that are really drivable. Mediums are almost good enough, but too little grip. Hard tires are pathetic.

Tire wear is a good thing, pit stops were not part of prolouge and it was boring ,although I still loved it, pit stops add strategy and that adds more to this game and to this series. There will be times when mediums and one stop are faster, although not often!

There is strategy, but tires that last 6 laps isn't fun. 680hp on mediums or hards isn't fun either.

You don't like Sport tires or harder racing do you. LoL nothing wrong with liking what you like. Myself like a little looser car. Feels more alive. Then again you maybe on a DS3 and that makes a difference.

We got Traction Control. HP shouldn't matter really.

I'd prefer no TCS if power got dropped to 550-600. ;)

i actually Dc'ed this tuesday. very annoying, I started to lag badly for a couple laps, fell from like 4th to 9th-ish, and then lost connection. Sorry guys. For the record, I agree with the strategy of, less hp, say 580, and everything else the same. I'd say, no wing on Audi, 40kg on Bentley, and maybe look at taking a little hp from the toyota only at tracks like daytona and la sarthe.

So I'm not nuts the Bentley and Yoda have advantages. Thank you!!! I was seriously chasing my tail about that. Having not tested anything and just grabbing my favorite sounding LMP.

'Sports' tires don't belong on Race cars. I think the Toyota should have at most 550hp, the Bentley 570hp 940kg, Audi no wing and 580hp, the rest leave them around 580 and their standard weights. With around 550-600hp, the tires actually last a few laps longer. Bring back some stability and consistency in the stints.

I have to say the alms race at Monaco with the pescarollo @ 475hp was fun as hell.

How do you determine, disconnection from race? I see in the "points" post, you get 3 if you are disconnected from race, and there was some bad connections around that day, before updates.

I was speaking of road cars and those tires.

I guess I need to be a lil more clear when responding to you. Sorry.

Are we keeping the regs as is or what BK? I think people have had it with the limited tire life. At least most of us. I think cutting power back by 100hp would pop this series back up when people participate.

Race day tomorrow, spreadsheet should be done by then 👍

heres the link, but theres no data in it yet.

Season 2 spreadsheet

Expecting more to show than last week.

What are you guys doing for times around monza?

If 10 drivers are not present tonight ill probably postpone the race.... its no fun to race with 5-6 people

Damn, the. 905 is 4 seconds off. It just makes it pass 320 at the end of the straight.
So is the race going ahead?

yea, as long as we start with 10 people

the bentley with 30kg of weight is in the 32s

Since Mikethehockey doesn't seem to be participating, i was wondering, if i could take the last Speed 8 car. As i want to compete and not just keep up.

Forgot how good the speed 8 was.. Was fun to drive at Suzuka!

Lol @ that portaj guy or whatever, i went on the inside of him on the long left hander after the esses, and he left me no room (even though i was along side/slightly ahead with a couple mph advantage) then when i touched the inside grass and moved me right a 1/4 car width, he was there so it hip checked him to the kitty litter.
