Part of Le Man's charm is all the different cars. One car may be quicke on the straights, but kill it's tyres and burn up fuel, It's as much about driver as the car regards to times. And I am starting testing the cars (I have all C1's except for the Chapparal).

What a wonderful idea for a race.

Depending on the announced time and date, I would very much like to participate.

PSN: TK42OnE
Class: C2
Car: '66 Shelby Cobra 427

Getting the Cobra around that track in one piece will be a fun challenge. Hopefully more people will try the C2 class.

*Just a question to you guys who have more experience with this. Are there significant technical issues racing online with people who are so far apart?"

Sign me up! I want in...but is it okay if I don't figure out what vehicle I want till later? (I'm at work now).

Also, please please please do not schedule the race for the last weekend of May. That is a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) in the US and a lot of ppl in the US celebrate by going to cookouts, pools or the beach (as will I!).

In general I prefer a day other than the wknd, but I understand the varying schedules and time zones of the participants.

Class: TBD
Car: TBD

Also, one of my buddies that I race with online quite often would like to participate as well. He's not registered on GTPlanet but I just told him about this and he wants to participate (he will sign up for this forum shortly).

Lag is the major hitch. I'm afraid that if anyone lags badly they will have to leave the session.

Thanks for the info RE Memorial Day, that'll help my scheduling, and your buddy is more than welcome.

Also, I have now have 14 confirmed entries. People who have confirmed their class and car will automatically take precedent, so now there is one slot available (I need one of course).

Final point, you can still enter, but I will put you on the reserve list, some people won't show up, so you can still have a chance of racing.

Please move me into the reserve section for now. If you need an extra driver then i'm there but exams have got to come first sorry. :(

Yeah, I'd be VERY happy if I could make it, but that isn't looking very likely.
Put me down for the GT40 though.
PSN is gogatrs.

You can help reduce the lag by setting the race quality to low and turning off the mics.

Any closer to deciding a date/time for this event?

You put down that Bombe might use the 2J instead of the 2D. Which isn't eligible and if it was would completely wreck C1.

I have 4 of the C1 cars - all three premiums plus the GT40. The problem is I have them set to online and I can't set them offline.

For C2 I have a Giulia TZ2, the Miura (also currently set to online :grumpy: ) and I can afford a Cobra and a Camaro. I already said I might use the TZ2, but I don't wanna modify it and trying to get another one through the Historic Racing Car Cup...no. Especially not in B-Spec. Besides which I can't do B-Spec because all of my drivers are online.

Chapparal adjusted.

As it stands, I have 14 confirmed entries, 4 undecided (including me) and obviously this means that the grid will be over subscribed.

My idea to get rid of this issue is maybe limit the amount of cars per category, and have a Test Session. Everyone PM's me their fastest time to ensure no cheating, and the fastest drivers get the entry slot. If they cannot make it to the race, then the next driver on the reserve list is offered the place.

I'll figure out which car I want to use tonight and will post it accordingly.

Sorry I haven't figured it out yet but I hadn't done the Indy 500 enduro yet so I did that the other night to get the XJ13

Though based on first impression I'm leaning towards the GT40 or Miura (diff classes, I know)

I was able to put up a 4:16+ with the '66 Cobra 427.

I don't remember the exact time, but I'll see if I can shave a couple more seconds off of that this weekend. I tried for a couple hours but it was the first time I had even been on the no chicane setup at Le Sarthe. It's fun! but the Cobra tops out at 155mph on the straights.

I am thinking of making a minimum time, as we don't want anyone too slow as they will be a hazard to C1 cars... how about 5:00?

It's really sad how unpopular C2 is...or more to the point, how overpopulated C1 is as of yet. Still haven't decided on my choice yet since I don't have access to the majority of the C1 cars I have.

Car rankings (my testing)

1 Chaparral 2D 3.29.8xx
2 Ferrari 330 +3 secs
3 Ford Mk IV+3 secs
4 Jaguar XJ13 + 5.5 secs
5 Ford GT40 + 9 secs

Don't remember the exact times, but I hope it's pretty accurate :)

Hey
Very well put together race MrMullsane and i would have liked to be involved.?

If a spare place turns up please would you put me down for a C2 cat car Shelby GT350R.

Thanks and good luck.

Another C2 - just remember the Mustang must be unmodified....

Now I have 12 C1 entries (and I may be a possible 13th - me) I'm going to close entries for that class. Also, I may limit the amount of C1's in the race depending on C2 entries... Ideally I'm looking for a 8/8, 9/7, or 10/6 (at most) split.

I just managed a 3:42 with the Jaguar XJ13... way quicker than what I expected...

The Z28 RM in default spec? I did a 4:24 in a Miura in Quick Race against 15 other cars on Lap 1.

So to confirm:

competzione - You are running the Chaparral 2D
MitchZ06 - You may be running in C2 instead?

OK cool

just remember the Mustang must be unmodified....

Does this include transmission ? I would say no otherwise it will not be much fun going down the Mulsanne at 112 mph redlining .

P.s
Just as a suggestion , would it be better to set a max pp for each class?
