Good point. I'll allow a fully customisable transmission. Suspension must be default.

Right, I've decided on my entry...if I'll be able to make it that is. Put me down anyway.

GTP: C-ZETA
PSN: V16T91
Car: Alfa Giulia TZ2

Holy hell, what is wrong with the GT40? I can't drive this car to save my life. I love everything about this car but the way it drives in this game. I"ll have to pick something else :(

Have you tried this? I haven't yet, but it should be better than the original setup. Who cares if it's made for the Nordschleife, at lest it should be good-handling then.

EDIT: Forgot THE LINK

Thanks for the tip man, but yeah I actually did just try that tune and still had too much oversteer. I think part of my problem is that I'm using a DS3 controller so it's hard to modulate the throttle like if I had pedals. Nonetheless I had no problem running low 3:40s easily with the XJ13.

I wanted to drive my Alfa around and possibly run it in C2 but I can't drive it right now, as it was shared online and is thus unavailable for now :(

For now pencil me in C1 with the Ferrari 330 P4 please!

You sure that you are using racing tires? I'm at 3.38 and I use a DS3 too... racing hards

That car was sliding for me so much that I actually checked the car's settings to make sure I wasn't using Sport tires. Ugh, freaking all over the place!👎

I decided to take the Giulia TZ2 for a Test Drive.

Got about 4'29's I think, took some trickery to get a good tranny setup, and it feels so much different with Steering Sensitivity on 7 compared to when I last drove it. Was also faster with TCS 1 - it's faster out of the corners with it.

Also, how on earth is it possible to drive the 330P4 with TCS 1 and ABS 1 only? Every time I tried it I just spun out dramatically while accelerating out of the corners. Same with the GT40, but that's not quite as bad. Didn't even bother trying out the MkIV or the XJ13.

Also the limit for C2 is 425pp to 525pp but the Cobra which you mentioned has a little less the 540pp stock. Also don't know how much PP the Ginetta G4 has but without mods I doubt it's making it to 425pp.

Ginetta ia about 430pp. I may raise the pp for the Cobra... I was going via the AC Cobra which is 510pp...

You are right - Ginetta apparently has 437PP stock, don't know about the AC Cobra but the Shelby has 536PP stock.

I think thy I'll change to C2 with the Alfa if you wouldn't mind.
However, it's pretty doubtful that I'll be able to make this race. :(

Just a reminder that slots for C2 are still open. That looks like being quite an interesting fight...

I said put me down for C1 with the 330P4 yesterday, but on the official roster I see I'm still listed as undecided and C1 is closed to any more entrants.

If that's the case I'm fine with being in C2. I just want to be in this race. But MrMulsanne please confirm that to me, as I was just about to spend $20 million on a car, lol.

I'll put you in C1 then, never noticed, sorry.

I did some practice today with a few various C2 cars and this is what I came up with:

Mercedes-Benz 300SL (technically not legal to race due to 403 PP) - 4:40.325
Ford Shelby GT350R - 4:27.494
Shelby Cobra 427 - 3:55.682
Ginetta G4 - 5:08.562
Jaguar E-Type coupe - 4:29.153

Do you think it's a good idea to allow for such a wide spread of cars in the C2 class? The Shelby (and prob Miura) will be so much faster than everything else. Also, somehow my stock Cobra has 543PP and 508hp. Anyway, it seems like if you want to be competitive in C2 there's only 2 or so cars to pick. I'd suggest lowering the C2 PP limit to make the racing closer.

Can I just confirm for the Miura in the C2 class, will we be using it totally stock, so no tire changes from stock?

The car must remain stock, but you are allowed to change the tires. Thus, you can put racing hard tires on your Muira.

(all my times stated above are on RH tires)

Cool. Thanks for clearing that up. I was hoping that would've been the case as I was a bit worried about the times people were posting. I mean, I know I'm slow but....

Just my .02 cents on the time difference in the C2 class issue.

When I first read MrMulsanne's thread, the first thing that struck me and that made me want to participate was the attempt to recreate a classic racing experience.

Now, I know less than nothing about the old Le Mans races, but I always viewed this more as an opportunity to take out one of my older cars that don't get a lot of attention in 95% of other online rooms and run them around in a structured environment.

I picked the Cobra 427 knowing it would most likely be lapped multiple times by the C1 cars and that there was a good chance I wouldn't even complete all the laps, seeing as the race ends 120 seconds after the winner crosses the line (if I'm wrong about that I apologize.)

Over the weekend I slapped a custom transmission on one of my two Cobra's and took it out to see how it did. It was faster, no doubt, but I hated it. It didn't feel like a Cobra anymore and it sure didn't sound like one either.

I don't want to speak for MrMulsanne, but I was happy just having a place to run a beautiful old car without worrying about messing with it too much. I would certainly try my hardest but the appeal came from the experience not really winning. (oh, and having an amazing replay with some of the best cars in the game to watch as well. :))

I'd like to team-up with you in the C2

Hey if there's only one spot left in C1 you are welcome to it. After all, you are going through all the trouble to organize this event ;)

No worries. Your in C1 👍

There is always a spread of cars at Le Mans. A 5.00.000 time limit is allowed.

RH is the mandatory tyre allowed.

190 seconds. And thanks for support 👍

Believe me, I not in it to win I too just want a good excuse to get the Miura into action. :D

It's a damned good car that Miura

Your in. 👍

Also - Entries are now shut, I have a pretty good field now.

That Cobra will be the car to beat, I'm nearly 20sec slower in my Camaro Z28 RM....might have to switch to the Cobra!
