Good point. I'll allow a fully customisable transmission. Suspension must be default.
So to confirm:
competzione - You are running the Chaparral 2D
MitchZ06 - You may be running in C2 instead?
Holy hell, what is wrong with the GT40? I can't drive this car to save my life. I love everything about this car but the way it drives in this game. I"ll have to pick something else![]()
I use a DS3 and can't break 3:50 in a GT40
You sure that you are using racing tires? I'm at 3.38 and I use a DS3 too... racing hards
I said put me down for C1 with the 330P4 yesterday, but on the official roster I see I'm still listed as undecided and C1 is closed to any more entrants.
If that's the case I'm fine with being in C2. I just want to be in this race. But MrMulsanne please confirm that to me, as I was just about to spend $20 million on a car, lol.
I'll put you in C1 then, never noticed, sorry.
Hey if there's only one spot left in C1 you are welcome to it. After all, you are going through all the trouble to organize this event![]()
I did some practice today with a few various C2 cars and this is what I came up with:
Mercedes-Benz 300SL (technically not legal to race due to 403 PP) - 4:40.325
Ford Shelby GT350R - 4:27.494
Shelby Cobra 427 - 3:55.682
Ginetta G4 - 5:08.562
Jaguar E-Type coupe - 4:29.153
Do you think it's a good idea to allow for such a wide spread of cars in the C2 class? The Shelby (and prob Miura) will be so much faster than everything else. Also, somehow my stock Cobra has 543PP and 508hp. Anyway, it seems like if you want to be competitive in C2 there's only 2 or so cars to pick. I'd suggest lowering the C2 PP limit to make the racing closer.
Can I just confirm for the Miura in the C2 class, will we be using it totally stock, so no tire changes from stock?
The car must remain stock, but you are allowed to change the tires. Thus, you can put racing hard tires on your Muira.
(all my times stated above are on RH tires)
Cool. Thanks for clearing that up. I was hoping that would've been the case as I was a bit worried about the times people were posting. I mean, I know I'm slow but....
Just my .02 cents on the time difference in the C2 class issue.
When I first read MrMulsanne's thread, the first thing that struck me and that made me want to participate was the attempt to recreate a classic racing experience.
Now, I know less than nothing about the old Le Mans races, but I always viewed this more as an opportunity to take out one of my older cars that don't get a lot of attention in 95% of other online rooms and run them around in a structured environment.
I picked the Cobra 427 knowing it would most likely be lapped multiple times by the C1 cars and that there was a good chance I wouldn't even complete all the laps, seeing as the race ends 120 seconds after the winner crosses the line (if I'm wrong about that I apologize.)
Over the weekend I slapped a custom transmission on one of my two Cobra's and took it out to see how it did. It was faster, no doubt, but I hated it. It didn't feel like a Cobra anymore and it sure didn't sound like one either.
I don't want to speak for MrMulsanne, but I was happy just having a place to run a beautiful old car without worrying about messing with it too much. I would certainly try my hardest but the appeal came from the experience not really winning. (oh, and having an amazing replay with some of the best cars in the game to watch as well.)
Believe me, I not in it to win I too just want a good excuse to get the Miura into action.![]()
I'd like to team-up with you in the C2
