Hello to all.

After 5 successful seasons of intense competition spanning the early days of Gran Turismo 5, this series run and founded by BermudaKid stopped running. Two of its earliest members, myself (PSN: jakegirard) and Razor70 are bringing it back for the late days of GT5 in preparation for the release of Gran Turismo 6. Here is a sample of the kind of racing we are looking to bring back.

All credit to BermudaKid for his promotional video for Season 4 of the series.

It is exactly this type of close, clean, intense racing that we will bring back to the fold with this series. We are looking for experienced, fast and clean racers for this series, though anyone is welcome to join. We will use LMP and Group C race cars at realistic regulations that allow for tight and controlled racing.

Season Schedule:

Races will be held Wednesday Evenings for the time being.

1. Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 - 24 Laps - September 4, 2013

2. Daytona International Speedway Road Course ~ 50 Laps - September 11, 2013

3. Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course ~ 50 Laps - September 18, 2013

4. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca ~ 55 Laps - September 25, 2013

5. Autodromo Nazionale Monza ~ 50 Laps - October 2, 2013

6. Suzuka Raceway ~ 35 Laps - October 9, 2013

7. Fuji Speedway F ~ 45 Laps - October 16, 2013

8. Nurburgring GP/F ~ 40 Laps - October 23, 2013

9. Special Stage Route 5 ~ 50 Laps - October 30, 2013

10. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps ~ 45 Laps - November 6, 2013

11. Circuit de la Sarthe 2009 - 24H - 40 Laps - November 13, 2013[/SIZE]

Rules/Regulations:

TCS allowed.
ABS allowed.
All other Aids off.

Run whatever race tires you want, but you may not mix and match fronts and rears. Racing Softs HIGHLY recommended.

Due to penalties being off we will have a review and penalty system in place. If someone has a problem with cutting the course, they will be disqualified, and if it becomes a lingering issue the driver will be removed.

Room Settings:

Tire Wear/ Fuel Consumption: Normal
Penalties and Visible Damage will be off to reduce lag and Disconnects.
Mechanical Damage will be set to light. A significant collision with other cars or a barrier will not ruin your race, but there will be that consequence for rough or uncontrolled driving.

Points System:

Drivers Championship:

1. 25 Points
2. 20 Points
3. 18 Points
4. 16 Points
5. 14 Points
6. 12 Points
7. 10 Points
8. 8 Points
9. 7 Points
10. 6 Points
11. 5 Points
12. 4 Points
13. 3 Points
14. 2 Points
15. 1 Point
16. 1 Point

The Manufacturers Championship will be simply awarded to the team whose drivers accumulate the most points throughout the season. Cars and teams will be addressed in post #2.

Race Procedures:

There will be a pace lap to begin each race. At shorter tracks, the pace lap will be 80MPH, with the field slowing to 60MPH prior to launch. At longer tracks, mainly La Sarthe, the pace will be allowed to speed up to 100MPH until the late portion of the lap leading up to the start.

Qualifying:

Drivers will time trial while being spectated by at least one series member. At selected events starting mid-season, a 2 lap qualifying race may be instituted as is series tradition.

Teams:

The flagship teams in this series will be Peugeot, Audi, Toyota, Bentley, and Mazda, with other cars available upon request, and be be regulated around the pace of these main teams. There will be up to 3 cars per team allowed. If someone desperately wants to be in a car that has 3 entries already, it's probably ok, we'll see if the situation comes up.

Regulations for each car are subject to change. If you are simply a better driver than the rest, the goal is not to regulate you until you lose. However we would like to have as balanced a competition as you could reasonably expect. We will attempt to strike that fine line of fairness, depending on all factors.

If I have time to do this, which is unlikely, I'd use the Courage C60 '03.
Go ahead and reg it (without testing, I'm guessing it comes out to around 560hp 910kg) if you want, but don't expect me to make a bunch of races.

UPDATE: I'm running some offline practice right now with the 560hp 910kg. Here's some of the data I've pulled @LM2005...
Top speed (straightaway): 203mph/327kph
1st Porsche Corner speed: 145mph/233kph
Top Speed (Porsche straightaway): 160mph/257kph
Lap Time (Best): 3'30.567

Am I overregged?

Man we haven't decided on dates and times yet so let me know when you're free, I want to figure something out that works for everyone.

Edit: Take off your 10 extra KG and add 3 hp, and you're good.

To Lazer: Stock weight and somewhere around 565 HP should work. I will get that HP number more exact for you asap. But try 565.

Plotnik: Races will be once a week. The day of the week has not yet been determined. When I have a couple more signups I will get a vote on what day of the week. Possibly Sunday nights, but again, we'll do a poll.

Minolta and 787 are very lightweight, so they won't need much power, same goes for the Peugeot 905.

somewhat true but they don't handle quite as well as some of the LMP's so they will need a few extra HP to keep up, regardless of weight. Trust would you like to sign up?

No. I'm just relaying the messages from seth. If you're allowing group c cars, he thinks the 88CV is the car to have.

Race 1: Le Mans 2005, 24 Laps.

Wednesday, September 4th.

Lobby opens at 6pm Eastern for qualifying, Race Starts 7:30 pm EST!!

I think the 88C-V Doesnt handle as well because it is meant for very high speeds, wich lowering its HP About half way makes it a bit behind in handling, But i love the car!

well testing went quiet well last night, pretty fun, lets try to get another testing room up and running for a few tweaks on regs here and there
