I think decreasing camber and toe can. Also making less wheelspin out of corners so maybe turn down accel/torque sensitivity

Edit: 2000th post

ehh im not sure about that drum, i had my camber and toe pretty much flat and just look at my tire wear by lap 8 compared to everyone else it was by far the worst.

decreasing camber and toe to neutral evens out tire wear as the whole tyre is in contact with the road instead of the tyre sides being used more.

Oh dear. I should of passed on the advice I gave to bombe to you as well. Sad days. The advice is don't get Skyrim on the PS3 unless you fit into one of the following criteria:
1. Have 24 hours left to live
2. Your PS3 will break in 24 hours and you are not getting a new one
3. You will fall over with anxiety thinking about Skyrim

If not then it is not best to get it until they fix the lag which usually occurs after roughly 24 hours of play time. I fit category 3 very well. I was frequently falling over with anxiety. Although now I have fallen over several times with worry as I though about the highly likely problem of:
a) The Skyrim lag issue never being fixed
and
b) That Bethesda got studio of the year while offering poor support for two platforms and appallingly bad support for the PS3 when DICE are obviously the developers of 2011s best game, BATTLEFIELD 3.

But back to the point, you get addicted to Skyrim and then the lag starts and you have to break the addiction or play a game that becomes much less than enjoyable as it lags so much. Tis a shame because the whole game is brilliant and the whole game is ruined by this issue.

And what have you got counselling for? Bunnyhopping or Skyrim? I am confused.

(Anybody spot the reference to Top Gear? If so, tell me what happened in the episode and who said it and why)

That sucks! Glad I got it on the pc then... I have 80hrs in it and only completed like 3 quest of the main quest line (just saw greybeards). The game is epic.

A. Battlefield is awful on PS3
B. Unless the start releasing some more patches for the PC version they dont deserve any awards.

No more using DLC tracks unless you have the DLC purchased. Bermudakid, get ready to change your name to bermudakind, and buy some drivers the DLC.

Well done Sherlock :sly:

WTF!!!! Now I won't be free riding spa!

???

Kind of asking for a race edit to be put into:

I agree. That would be a good song for La Sarthe me thinks.

I think this would be good for Spa, if Drum can get hold of the file:

Rise Against - Broken Mirrors

The song is made for race edits! :)

OK, so just downloading the new update. Get ready for another twist in the 1 hour races. PD have done something called a "tyre wear speed adjustment". This (according to various rumours) means 1 of two things:

1. Every tyre has just taken another accelaration in tyre wear and tyres now wear out more than ever.

2. They have finally fixed the issue of hard and medium tyres and now they actually last longer than softs, giving them a sort of meaning now, but are obviously slower as well.

Or it might be both. Either way race strategy is about to get even more exciting from where I'm standing :D

WTF!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

The new tyre wear is terrible. Absolutely terrible. :ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch:

Two laps of Le Mans = no tyres left. And it was without the chicanes. Ask MU too. The mediums are just as bad. What have you done PD! This is going to be a 9 stop race at La Sarthe. Enjoy

Oh yeah :D

The tyre wear is really bad, don't know why they had to change the tyre wear performance instead of bringing something new... All run 0.00 Camber

How long do the hard tyres last around La Sarthe? This sounds epic although I'm uncertain if its safe with my 24 hour Nurburgring still running. Might only be able to do 1 lap before pitting again. :nervous:

AMF is screwed though whatever happens.

Believe me it isn't epic. After numerous tests with Furinkazen, MU and pj the soft tyres run 2-3 laps, the mediums 4-5 and the hards 6-7 but are very very slow. This is going to be a strategy festival in the races.

Right, I'm going 4 laps on the softs at La Sarthe now! :sly:

(After one stint in the Nurb 24 hours to see the tyre wear on the GTR TC)

Jamman is not lying, softs will go around 2 laps without traction control, and 3 with it. Mediums, 5 laps tops. And hards, which are too slippery anyway to make work, will take 7+, but expect to be lapping several seconds slower.

Hmm it's not really all it seems, pj kinda touched on it. Instead of the preferred tyre being soft, it will now be medium. Hard tyre looses far far too much time and soft is now just a qualifying tyre and in race trim would require double the pit stops of medium tyre runners -_-

There can actually be some tire strategies now.
I won't get to test it out on my wheel until 2012 , but I'm excited to see what it will do to racing in 4-5 lap races and long ones.

tissimo
New rule! Start on quali tires...

Man it is bad, i EAT rear tires :(

+1. S6 you will start on the tires you qualified on

Well... In some brief testing... Softs are 10s faster a lap at la Sarthe then hards.. But they last about 2x as long.

Scared to see how it well be at nurb gf/f

Yeah, it's gonna open up strategy a lot now. As a result I believe all out pace will not be vital. As long as you are a decent pace and on a good strategy you can get a great result. Which from a personal view isn't that great, but generally for the series should make racing a lot more exciting. I'm just glad I've got season 5 wrapped up, before this update has come. La Sarthe is just gonna be wild, anything could happen :D

My only worrie now is I just hope strategy doesn't become absolutly everything in the race. And everyone isn't going to go around nursing their tyres all the time saying "my precious". Obviously this huge tyre wear will make people very reluctant to go full pace. And also that every race isn't decided by a guy who's done more stops on mediums closing down a guy who's done less stops on hards. He will just drive straight through on naturally faster tyres and that are much less worn from being put on more recently.

No! I was pinning my hopes on all out pace to win at La Sarthe. But now this update! I mean, the cars in real life, the Audi R15 for example, was doing several stints on one set of tyres, and its pace was pretty much the same all throughout. If anything, PD should have made all of the compounds last longer, instead of giving us Pirelli tyres on steroids.

So um, complete revamping of race strategy and driving approach is in order?

Honestly I'm glad, we all needed something to freshen up the landscape I think. I'm in NYC but will be home by 9 if anyone wants to race then.
