So um, complete revamping of race strategy and driving approach is in order?
VettelfanWell you could stick to the old strategy if you want, of using softs every stint. That should put you on an 8-9 stopper at Sarthe![]()
harvickfanNo way to do 4 laps a stint on softs? Any way a 1 stop or 2 stop on hards will work? Or we gonna be on mediums lol.

VettelfanHaha, you could try. 3 laps absolute maximum of softs I'd say. Furthest I've gone was nearly 3 laps but the tyres completly ran out of rubber on the run to Porsch Kurves and I turned in but the back end just let go lol. I then struggled to get above 100mph round the rest of the Kurves without spinning lol.
1 stop, no. 2 stop you could try but as tiss pointed out last page they are 10 seconds a lap slower than softs, probably about 5 slower than mediums so you could very easily gain a pitstop with the speed advantage of mediums.
So yeah, as I said on the last page, mediums will probably become the tyre of preference![]()
How much slower are mediums than softs?
Peter. Not much, to be honest. Maybe i'm wrong, because Jamman has converted me to using Traction Control in these LMP's, but the mediums seem to have a noticeable increase in grip, and are now, call it 5 seconds the most slower than softs.
Seems about right since hards are 10s slower then softs at la Sarthe..
With a Viper GTS-R at nurb gp/f 4-5 seconds separate the compounds....
harvickfanI have found the gap to be much.....different......than 10 seconds from soft compounds to hard. LOL, I'm not telling anyone NOTHIN about my pit strategy thoughts!
The new tyre wear is wrong there is too much of a gap between sorts and yards. The quickest over long distants is still the sorts so all this talk about using RH is rubbish even if u have to stop 10th times in a race Lol.
I've got my information from the wsgtc series I'm in. We have done lots of tests..... And the sorts all ways come out on top.
Not sure if there will be big difference in an LMP car but supose a few tests could be done
I'm going to host a Race of Champions. The entry criteria forbids me from entering but Jamman, bombe, Jake all are allowed to enter if they wish so. I will create the thread soon. Save up some credits though. You are going to need to supply the cars yourself.
Don't agree with that at all Mr. Paginas.
I've done some tests this morning @ 700hp. For me the results were:
- Softs last 3 laps at Sarthe - would require 5 pitstops using them all race
- Mediums last 4 laps - would require 4 pistops using them all race
- Hards last 5 laps - would require 3 pitstops using them all race
- The softs are around 1 - 1.5 seconds a lap quicker than the mediums
- The hards are a further 2 seconds off the medium tyres
Either way you look at it, it's pretty close between them. Obviously you could mix and match tyres though so it's hard to say. Then along with the battles for
position during the race.
I think I have a pretty good strategy lined up

We have a pretty long time before sarthe...BK would it be ok to try to recruit more drivers? I used to do a league with 3 or 4 other guys...they'd be a good addition to the league. A 16 car grid would be awesome.
mike46and2I will be back to racing soon, sorry been away working , I'm looking foward to Le Sarthe with new tire wear.
